god pub, nice atmosphere (especially for champions league football nights). All the staff are excellent and very efficient (theres a girl with a bar nose piercing who is really really good.. she remembered what i was drinking and i hadnt been there for 2 weeks).

Stonegate seem to be turning alot of their outlets into these Tap type of pubs, the only negative i can find is that they are not really tap pubs, they serve the usual main line beers and the "craft beers" are just standard beers like Hop House or camden Pale Ale, nothing exciting or original (but this is probably dictated by head office).



Have eaten here once and had a pizza.. was very good and would recommend.

Visited today hoping to buy a meal & a coffee. 3 people behind the bar but only 1 serving. Waited to be served whilst barmaid completed serving somebody else. During the wait 5/6 guys arrived and were told by the barmaid that she would attend to them soon. Sure enough, when she had finished serving she turned to the new arrivals. I walked out in disgust. This place has really gone downhill since it ceased to be a Spoons.

This is the best place ever I love tge staff here.

So nice to have vegan options that don’t totally suck � best vegan chilli ever!

Lovely food and drink had lunch with my daughter treated her for a day out enjoyed our time here will come again very soon and also friendly staff very happy.

Good atmosphere, good food & good beer. A great pub for the town, better than the Wetherspoons that it replaced.

Genuinely my favourite place in town to drink in the evenings or for a nice meal with family/friends. As a cider drinker, I love the fact there’s always such a great range of ciders on (don’t see that in many places). & I highly recommend the pizzas! ��� So go down on thursdays for the 2-4-1 pizza deal.

Big thanks Chiltern Taps for the excellent open mic on Tuesdays and live music on Thursdays. I played there with my band last Thursday, the area in front on the stage was packed out, great vibes all night!

Im pleased it's no longer a Wetherspoons bar, I haven't tried the food here yet, but, I hear it's pretty good. I was there yesterday evening, (28-10-17), for a few drinks before moving on. I like the atmosphere, good service.

I like the decor. Excellent selection of drink. Friendly, smiling, polite and funny staff. Pool table. Unusual options on the menu that tasted great. Excellent value for money.



I'm not a huge sports fan, but you have to cater to what's going to get people in so I accept there's TVs and slightly more boisterous than I'd care for crowds on occasion.



Going to the karaoke tonight. If it's good the pub may be my new haunt on a Friday night. Well done with what you've done with the place!

For a chain pub they have done a nice job. Good selection of drinks (it's what Stonegate do) food is pricier than Yates and every time we have tried it's been cold. You can get a decaf and music is good for us.

We shared nachos today, really good, a bit more cheese would have been 5 stars

Went with a group of people (first time since it's been rebranded/resold) so went in with an open mind, to try out the new menu/drinks.



Place is now very much a hipster bar, or at least comes off like it's trying to imitate one. Not to everyone's taste but was pleasant enough.



Though this is where things started to go down hill - very expensive menu, all the mains are around £8+, though you can get two for £10.



I ordered a "Fully Loaded Mac and Cheese" as this sounded like it would be enjoyable, also I was tempted to try one of the boxed ciders, though to both mine (and the staffs surprise) the box of cider was just that a box! No new box was available (or offered) so went with another option.



As I was placing this the display of cans behind the bar collapsed and almost crushed the poor barmaid (she was a little shaken as a result) again looked nice but health and safety!



I would guess that they are not used to dealing with larger groups of people or with special orders (hold the cheese, no mushrooms,etc) as most of what turned up at the table was either wrong or was thrown together with such speed that they ended up missing items out - a friend of mines identical order was missing bacon, and my own turned up after everyone else's had (despite ordering third in our group) over 45 mins later - turns up my order had been forgotten about and only turned up after I had to ask where my food was.



As for what I received, I was underwhelmed to say the least - a side dish sized portion (not worth the £9.50 price tag or being called a main) that was also missing items (in my case all the BBQ pulled pork) - though at this point I was to hungry to complain so ate and left shortly after.



Lots of changes needed to change this score deserves its 2x star rating.

First impressions count....well we arrived at 7.45 met our friends at 8 to be told that they weren't taking orders for food for an hour and a half because they had Christmas parties going on. Helllooo it's Christmas!!!!! Get extra kitchen staff. One saving grace the DJ Smokin is good

Went in there to meet a friend. Ordered the Christmas sharing platter supposed to have a baked camembert but was out on the plate straight from the fridge. Sent that back it was nuked in a microwave I would think as it was back in a couple of mins the outside was melted while the inside was still solid. The pigs in blankets were cremated the garlic bread was soggy the chips were also cold so a total waste of £16 won't be going there again in a hurry
