Been here on a lunch time and dinner time. Came last night with my hubby had booked on line, ordered our meal considering it was very busy, was very quick, waitress and waiters were always there to help, food was great and the service was good. Twice for pudding I've had the churros which are yummy but I do think you need a bit more chocolate sauce but the runny melted sort of chocolate I think. Would go again many times

Great service from waitress and manager and engagement with me to find out what I was able to eat as a vegan. Food was nice too. Nice and friendly atmosphere

User

Although not as good as it used to be. I think it has changed hands, has a different menu, there is no longer any Cubanisto on the drink list, and the nachos were mainly just crisps with hardly any chilli or cheese and NO guacamole! The waiters were friendly and service good but the food is just not as good any more

went for a birthday meal with 7 of us at a table. ordered drinks and starters and they were sitting at the bar for half hour because there was no one to bring them to us so waited half hour for drinks and an hour for starter. Nacho's were burnt. Main came out about 30 mins after the starters and I could have honestly got better in a packet mix. Travelled 40 minutes to come here as absolutely love Mexican food and was so disappointed. It was just so bland! It's obviously bad management and really understaffed for the amount of people there. Complained and got the meals and drinks for free in the end but would never come here again despite that. The girl who served us was lovely though and she was apologetic, polite and understood us, I felt really bad for her as she was probably getting the brunt of the other angry customers in there and it wasn't her fault as she was waiting about 10 tables at once. We gave her a tip personally as we were happy with her :)

Waitress was lovely.

Limited choice of food was poor.

Won't be going again unless it improves.

This used to be our favourite local spot, good honest food at sensible prices.

Last night was a shock. The menu had changed, gone was the classy booklet, replaced by a dog eared wipe clean sheet, with all the options crammed onto it. Gone was the paella, gone was the feta and honey and other veggie options from the street food section. And no complimentary popcorn on arrival. My partner remarked it felt like a business in trouble, desperately making cutbacks.

His fajitas arrived, 9 prawns and a few veg for £12? Failing to find 3 veggie choices I wanted on the street food menu, I opted for the veggie burrito - 80% rice and very little chilli, plus a tiny dollop of sour cream and guacamole, it just felt like stodge.

A bit of Googling later we discovered the chain is, indeed, struggling. This advice will fall on deaf ears, I'm sure, but reducing the menu and quality is not a good way to keep your regular customers happy. Last night felt like poor value, even with a discount applied.

Will we be back before the place folds? Probably not

Normally one our favourites went for an end of term treat last night and it may be because it was busy but it had all gone to pot. Booked on line but they didn't get our booking - apparently happens al the time if you use their online booking via their own website!! They did seat us straight away, we ordered and the starter arrived not long after...only problem was it was the wrong starter and ours had gone to the wrong table. The mains arrived and the kids meals were not what we ordered all the toppings were missing. Having ordered more drinks and waiting 15 minutes we realised the order hadn't been put through so we had to ask again!! When the waiter cleared the table we ordered desert, 15 mins later he came back to ask us if we would like desert and as soon as he ask he realised they should already be on order so we then had to wait even longer for it to come out!! The food was ok (apart from the kids meals) but the lack of service spoilt it and whilst the manager did apologise and give a discount it is not what you want especially when the kids have been really excited about going!!

Menu changed from the last time I went didn't see really anything was really edible for me and deafly not Mexican gone downhill

Average at best. I love wahaca so really wanted to like this, but I knew it was going to be a disaster as soon as the popcorn came put more than half Un-popped kernels. Followed by 20 minute wait for drinks, that hadn't been ordered! Halloumi starter was nice, but Mexican steak main was really disappointing, firstly they gave me my husbands rare and him my medium, plus it clearly hadn't been rested as it was boiling hot, too hot to eat. Not spicy just red hot. Once it had cooled down you could taste the pretty nice flavour, but it was so chewy, oh and no steak knives given either until it was evident we weren't going to get through these steaks without decent knives and requested them. Kids meals were poor and broccoli was yellow! Clearly the people sending the food out don't give a damn! Defo won't go back!

Went yesterday for a meal with my husband and two young children, the waitress who first served us was lovely and attentive. Although the food took a while to come, it was nice. My reason for one star review was because of the attitude of the assistant manager, she happened to be the one who delivered our food and when she asked if we need anything else, my reply was I think I fancy some sort of sauce with the chips, bbq, peppercorn etc, her tone was very stern and abbrasive, saying well which one do you want then, my husband and I were a bit shocked, I said which sauce in a not so happy tone, she walked off and sent it back with another waiter. I later complained and she later returned with a back handed apology, making out that she was sorry that I got the wrong end of the stick, I didn't want to cause a scence in front of the kids but this women, think it might be Kate ,needs to be sent away for training and really shouldn't be an assistant manager in an establishment that's serves the public, this role must have gone to her head and she's obviously thinks a lot of her self. First time visit and will never return or recommend.

Was a complete disappointment, food an drink well overpriced and poor quality. platter to share between 4 was small, 1 tiny chicken piece, 1 onion ring, one half tiny potato skin and 1 breadcrumbed pepper, oh and a few nachos each, And took a very long time to come whilst being asked for drinks every 5 minutes. Mexican chicken skewers included a total of 7 tiny piece of chicken across 2, how that works I don't know, maybe the chef got hungry?, also was overcooked and very dry. Mexican style rice was very bland and not atall Mexican, tasted like rice out a pouch! The service was poor, and seeing a waiter wipe chairs with his cloth an then to the table shows poor training and hygiene. Very un satisfied and will not return, would not recommend unless your stupid.

Waited 45 minutes for a table, we didn't pre book and it was a Friday night so that was fair. When we were showed to the table we quickly knew what we wanted as we'd waited with a menu at the bar but every time we tried to flag down a Waiter we were ignored. Eventually a Manager took our order. Took 15 mins for the drinks to come and a further 30 minutes for our food. We observed others around us who had come in after us and they had their food within 10 mins. We noticed a lot of food waiting to be served on the pass but no Waiter free to take it. I spotted what looked like my burger sitting there for 20 mins and surprise surprise it was mine to which I sent it back saying it had been sat there far too long. My friend sent her food back as it was cold. Eventually got my food back and it was the smallest, driest, unappealing burger I'd ever seen in a value burger bun with some limp veg. The chips were floppy and reheated and my onion rings dripping in grease. How wrong can you get a burger! Shows the quality of the place when you can get a better burger at Burger King. Once again I sent it back saying I wouldn't be paying. The Manager offered to replace my meal with something else but I refused, so I sat there without a main whilst my friend tucked into her tacos, she said she'd had better. We were given free desserts and both had cheesecake, mine was frozen in the middle. Walked away not paying a thing. Will never go here or to another Chiquitos again. AVOID if you like money and want a nice meal.

Ordered a veggie meal as I'm a VEGETARIAN to discover some hidden pulled pork in it.. Asked the waiter over and in a fluster he admitted that they actually mix their spoons with food E.G: my dinner was made with cutlery that was being used in meat dinners hence why there was meat in it!!! Then they only took £2.70 off the bill! Horrific experience

I got dragged out to go to chiquitos and I must say I wish I stayed at home now. It'd a lovely building but ran by toddlers. Food was nice when it came but too many mistakes on bill and food process. One lady was really rude and didn't say a word (obviously can't speak) smokers go out front but no ashtrays provided so fag butts all over the floor. Only been open a while, (be closed soon if it carrys on)
