User

We had an absolutely lovely meal here x much better than Gino's x lovely surroundings with plenty of space and reasonably priced x

User

Popped in here (first time) for lunch today, staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was fabulous. All three of us really enjoyed our lunch. I will definitely be eating here again.

User

My friend and I came to you yesterday a day trip we which we enjoyed but for us both the highlight of the day was definitely our meal the arancini rice balls with the sauce was excellent so was the tortellini with the ricotta and spinach followed by the tiramisu a well done to the chef. Will come again when we next visit Lincoln.

User

I had the 2 course meal for 11.95 ..The Calamari portion was huge and delicious and I had Lasagne which was one of the tastiest I have come across and have been to many as my partner is Italian ..If I return to Lincoln this will be my first port of call.

Never mind Best Italian, best meal I've ever had. 50 years old and I've never eaten food like that. Brilliant service also

User

I had the two course for £11.95 ,soup then lasagne ,both were delicious ,the lasagne was the best I've had in a while ,good service also

User

Spinach as a garnish instead of basil....malt vinegar instead of balsamic....no cheese for cheese and biscuits....no offer of fresh pepper or freshly grated parmesan....all small details but means you are slightly disappointed

User

Ok....let's firstly say that my wife and I visited the Pomodoro E Basilicio for the very first time on Saturday having just returned from Italy. So when our half Italian grand-daughter suggested the restaurant, we were looking forward to some good Italian food. And fair to say the food was good, particularly the Chicken Carbonara which my wife said was really nice. The Margarita pizza, however, was a little over cooked with the topping being a little charred, but otherwise tasty.

Generally, the waiting staff were attentive but upon delivery of our drinks, my wife having ordered an Aperol Spritz, instead of looking a bright orange colour and containing a slice of orange. It looked rather anaemic with a distinct lack of any orange colouring and contained a slice of lime!

Upon challenging the waiter, his response was that an Aperol Spritz only contained a splash of Aperol and the lack of colour was due to the Prosecco and Soda, and no doubt the ice (which the waiter didn't use as an excuse!) had diluted the Aperol!!!

I'd suggest that rather than dilution it was more short measure, or rather a non existent measure, of Aperol that accounted for the lack of any orange colouring in the drink!!!

A shame really as it was the one blemish on an otherwise great day visiting Lincoln!

Yesterday i experienced some of the most shocking behaviour ive ever experienced in a resturant.

To cut a long review short- the meal served was not what was expected and explained this to the waiter.

The chef said he would not make an alternative dish and that had to be eaten.

Absolutely shocked and stunned i watched my family member try and eat a meal she could not eat (as it had a meat in it) and bork and feel utterly humiliated.

Ive never known in all my life to be told at a place where you pay for food to be told to eat it there is nothing else! (My mum and dad only have the right to say this surly?)

If it wasnt for feeding our children we would have walked out.

Thank you to the lovely front of house waitress who couldnt believe the behaviour of the chef and explained the manager was not there today. Refunded that meal and apologised more.

Never eating here again!

User

Was very disappointed his is my second visit and with my first visit being a lovely meal I was disappointed this time round.

I asked for the same meal I had last time as I am a very fussy eater. When it arrived I found that they had altered the way this meal was made and i would no longer be able to eat it.

After explaining this to the waiter he said he would change it only to be told a few minutes later that the chef would not make anything different! So I was forced to eat a meal I did not like, I could not eat it.

I was disgusted by this and later a waitress came over and couldn't apologise enough and said we should have been allowed to change our meal.

Would not come here again

User

There are a few points to raise here, firstly the board enticing people into the restaurant at the arches is merely a con....the daily special of main course for £5.95 is one dish only which changes daily! Secondly the portion sizes from the main menu are minute and no where near possible to fill my children let alone my fiancé....point also to make is the portion sizes are the same if u pay the special of £5.95 or full price menu dishes at £9.95 for pasta dishes. Thirdly I have never known penne arriabiata to have meat in unless stated? Neither was the dish spicy or have any chillies? Let alone cheap chorizo sausage that was pure grissle. And lastly the service and manner of staff was appalling. Will never return and will be interesting to see if this review remains on the website. Poor and disappointing experience all at a costly price!
