We visited cinebowl to go ice skating and ended up doing bowling too!! We all had a great time!! The staff were lovely and really helpful!! The only issue I have is that the true price to go ice skating is not shown. The website displays the discounted price that people get if they have an icecard. This is misleading!. Instead of ┬Ż9 each as we thought. The true price was actually ┬Ż11.20. Without the offer of doing two activities for ┬Ż11 which was excellent value for money, we may have decided not to go ice skating based on this information. This needs to be changed.

We had a fab afternoon here yesterday, staff were very helpful and friendly, all amenities in ice rink, bowling and cinema were clean and in working order and we ended the day with a film and pizza. Great day, thank you xxx

User

Took my daughter and some of her friends for a Birthday treat. Staff were really helpful and the girls had a great time!

User

The staff are so friendly and helpful. After the cinema we decided to have a game of bowling but it was an hour wait. The lovely gentleman offered the i-skating instead but my son was unsure so he let him go in for free to try it out. Great customer service!!! Will definitely go back

User

Pre booked to see Peter Rabbit as an Easter treat for my children and 9 grandchildren on Saturday afternoon . Thank you Jenny for being so considerate when booking our seats, bringing a small baby with us she suggested a seat with extra room for the baby seat and easy access for the exit. Keep up the good work Jenny you will go far. Ace staff all round. Well done Uttoxeter.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to James, our bowling party host. He exceeded expectations and was very helpful, polite and friendly, regularly asking if everything was ok and if we needed anything. We ordered coffees at the bar and he brought them over. We had a couple of late arrivals and it wasnŌĆÖt a problem and James helped to set up the scoring system. We also had a couple of children who donŌĆÖt like Pizza and again James was very helpful and accommodating and arranged an alternative. My son had a great birthday party and we wouldnŌĆÖt hesitate in recommending Uttoxeter cinebowl as a party venue and James as an excellent party host. Thank you James ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

After a long day in sun at Alton Towers last week, we welcome a day indoors and took advantage of your great multi activity package. We had great fun bowling first, with our littlest managing two full games this time, before splitting up to watch two different films that were well co-ordinated to be at similar times and finishing off with a couple of hours on the ice rink. The penguin meant our littlest could happily join in too, thank you.

User

Went to see the Avengers.

The place was rammed and there was a big queue but I was surprised on how quickly the line went down.

We got served very quickly even when we asked for food and drinks.

The seats were comfy but you were a little cramped in. If you were in the middle of a row or at the end nearest the wall, then there was no way of going the toilet apart from asking an entire row to stand up so you could walk by.

Apart from that it was a good experience.

User

We use cinebowl during school holidays it's ideal as on the doorstep. We went to watch Peter rabbit, not to busy but there was only 1 girl on that seemed to be doing everything and it was busy with it being half term. There was a lad floating about but there does need to be more staff on during busy times. The value is Ok, I do think they should do some deals during school holidays, I know you do the double and treble offer but not everyone wants to do those. But apart from that it's fun for the kids and it's something to do during the holidays

User

Went with hubby and two grandsons, asked if we could have a print off and they said the printer was broken,ok no worries we will have a game of air hockey oh sorry we canŌĆÖt find the bats so the grandsons were disappointed but we all enjoyed the bowling, hopefully next time they will have sorted everything out.

User

We had some family time bowling. We did have fun.

However it was extremely busy and there didn't seem to be enough staff to manage it. They were still friendly all things considered.

They could do with a better selection of balls though. We struggled to find ones with holes big enough for the adults to use properly. My partner was just throwing it not using the holes. We did also notice a couple of them were damaged.

We also had to wait a while with a 5 year old to get our shoes back as the poor girl doing that was trying to help serve the queue of people queuing out of the door in the rain. There was only two of them doing that.

User

The screens themselves were fine, i.e. views, cleanliness and comfort. The staff were also friendly and helpful despite being extremely busy. The disappointing aspect was being made to join the one and only queue which was so long it meant standing in the cold and rain with our 3yr old. This was even more frustrating given that we had pre booked tickets and also been charged more for doing so in admin and processing fees. I understand that the showing was sold out however i feel that consideration and solutions need to be given to the queing system as it is unacceptable to queue outside with little or no shelter!especially those who have pre booked!!

User

I love the cinema but the past two times I have been a stupid person puts the lights on full blast when the adverts start and keeps them on throughout the trailers and when the movie starts they go down....stop it please it's ruining my experience because I can't see the screen.....

User

A handy local facility, few queues, reasonably priced, good parking and convenient. However the front of house team really need sorting out. Poor service time after time, customers are invisible as they all avoid eye contact, don't smile The popcorn is stale and overpriced, the pos machine keypad for payment has not been cleaned in all the time that the cinema has been open, so unhygienic, the process of buying your ticket and then buying food and drink causes so much unnecessary queuing. The new insistence that you get allocated seats is also nonsensical I have only ever seen it full (Bond) - could be excellent but is only ok.

User

We visited to go 10-pin bowling. Loads of miserable staff were being paid to stand around chatting to each other yesterday afternoon. Dirty environment that the chatting staff showed no interest in clearing/cleaning & no XL size ball holes for the dadŌĆÖs & grandadŌĆÖs. Bowling lanes & electric scoreboards worked fine though - a technically functional trip negatively affected by unhappy & unmotivated staff.

User

The screens themselves are fine and the seats are very good BUT the management of the cinema need to rethink staffing resource levels (the queues are not acceptable, purely caused by too few people serving) and the drink and food area needs dedicated staff (again nobody available to serve as they are working the mail tills for the cinema). If these issues were resolved it would be four or five stars..

User

My wife and I took our daughter for her first game of bowling. The lane constantly had problems with the lane only putting the pins down so all 10 stood up a handful of times. Majority of times there was always one falling over sometimes two. Upon telling the staff I was told that if it gets any worse then to tell them. No offering us a free game or moving us to a functional lane, just expected to put up with it. When the lane set up the pins with only two standing I told the staff again and they reset them but was told that any pins not stood up would count towards the score.

I will be looking for somewhere else to bowl next time I think, luckily my daughter is only 3 and just wanted to knock down some skittles. If I had an older child who wanted a proper game then I would have demanded something more done about it.

I also noticed there was another lane that seemed to do the same, either way avoid lane number 6.

User

We decided to stop for a game of bowling after my daughterŌĆÖs ice skating lesson this morning. From the start, the pins were falling over on their own when they were being set by the machine. I spoke to Jenny on the bowling till 3 times today about it and they just kept resetting the pins but it kept happening (we count 13 out of the 40 frames that not all ten pins were standing. To be honest we couldnŌĆÖt be bothered to keep going up for the pins to be reset every 3 frames or so and after the telling them the first three times, the kids had had enough and just wanted to play. Apparently according to the duty manager this counts as a full game and itŌĆÖs OUR fault for not telling them every time it happened and by doing this we were obviously happy with it happening. The manager was totally uninterested in our complaint and told us that because we chose to finish the game we were obviously happy with playing with only 8 or 9 pins standing. He simply said it was tough luck as we finished the game. He then said and I quote ŌĆ£we would give you another game but the lanes are all booked up now as we have a very busy schedule todayŌĆØ. So I said well in that case then weŌĆÖll take the game on another day if thatŌĆÖs ok to which he said ŌĆ£noŌĆØ and went back to the excuse of ŌĆśwe decided to finish the gameŌĆÖ. What I donŌĆÖt understand is how he can offer us a free game at a time that he knew he couldnŌĆÖt deliver but refused the free game on another day...how does that work, it just makes no sense! He also told us that he is aware of the problem with the pins on that lane and Jenny was now sorting it out. I was still trying to put case across to him to which he then offered us a free drink which we didnŌĆÖt want, I just told him we would just like a proper game of bowling where the pins actually stayed up. He refused and said there was nothing else he could do for us. Extremely poor customer service and clearly this manager is in need of more training on customer service or at least make up some better excuses and not contradict himself. WouldnŌĆÖt mind but itŌĆÖs not cheap at ┬Ż24 for what was not even a full/proper game of bowling. Then to be treated this way, I find it to be disgusting and unacceptable.

User

Review is for the ice rink and rental skates. The rink is tiny and the skates are extremely uncomfortable, expect to be leaving with blisters. The edges of the blades are blunt so you've got no control on the ice, slipping everywhere. Didn't enjoy my time. Thank God I already know how to ice skate because if I was somebody wanting to try it out as a beginner, I'd have been put off straight away.
