Following the elections we want to say a massive thank you to all of our supporters and particularly to Steve Scrutton for his positive efforts.
This was a crucial election for many reasons and we made the extremely difficult decision to stop campaigning in our marginal seat to get the best chance of reducing a conservative majority. We didn't ask members to vote for any other party, instead we stayed on the ballot to give voters the choice.
We are very much looking forward... to continuing to get the Green message out there in the community.

If you're just waking this morning, the results in Corby and East Northants are as follows...

We are writing to confirm that Steve Scrutton, the Green Party candidate for the Corby, is going to discontinue campaigning ahead of next week’s vote.
Corby is the most marginal of seats in the County, with the Conservatives having taken the seat with 4.3% votes in 2015. We stood in this seat to ensure Green issues were clearly on the agenda, but it was always our intention to monitor the situation in Corby and to listen to our supporters along the way, many of whom feel very... torn about whether to vote tactically or not in such a marginal seat. Having done this, we now feel that ceasing campaigning is the right decision, and from various conversations, are satisfied that environmental issues are on the agenda and being taken seriously.
We want to thank Steve for all of his hard work and dedication, and for standing in Corby to represent Northamptonshire Greens. We also want to thank all of our members and supporters there for their continued support.
It is important that we are clear, this is a unique situation to Corby, and across all other constituencies in the County, we are putting our all into our continued campaigns on the run up to the 8th.
Here is a list of our candidates standing in the other Northamptonshire constituencies, where we would urge you, if you are supportive of the positive and progressive Green message, to vote Green.
