About Crocus Cafe
We're a volunteer-led community cafe with healthy and affordable vegetarian and vegan food that is organic, fairtrade and locally-sourced where possible.
Crocus Cafe Description
Crocus cafe was set up in 2004 as a social enterprise organization based around eight core values or "ethos":
1. Community
2. Volunteer-led
3. Healthy and Affordable
4. Vegetarian and Vegan
5. Fairtrade
6. Organic
7. Locally-sourced
8. Eco-friendly.
The cafe is run by a group of volunteers (the Board of Directors) and is predominantly volunteer-led.
At Crocus cafe, we serve the local community with food and drink at not-for-profit prices, and any profit that is made goes back into promoting our ethos and supporting local community projects.
We welcome all types of volunteers and are dedicated to making sure that they gain valuable work experience while with us. Volunteering at Crocus cafe is a great way to make friends and get involved with the local community; it is also a great opportunity for people looking to gain work experience and improve upon their skills.

What an absolute asset to Lenton and the local community! Visited today for the first time after winning a meal for two on twitter and I'm so so pleased with my experience! It was Mexican night and the food was absolutely delicious, so tasty and filling! Just shows how amazing a plant-based diet can be! The place has a lovely, comforting atmosphere, like being at home, and me and my friend felt very comfortable. We were served by a lovely lady who did everything to accommodate for my friend's allergies, and even gave us a free cake from the counter each as we were leaving. I am super content and will most definitely be returning! Thank you!
Visited today for the first time, awesome food and friendly staff. We will definitely be back.

The cutest little cafe! Visited today and expected vegan cake to be overpriced and disgusting but it was gorgeous and didn't burn a hole in my purse. The staff were also lovely. Would definitely recommend!

Specifically sought out a vegetarian restaurant on a day trip to Nottingham with my teenage daughter & found Crocus Cafe mentioned more than once on t'internet. Had lunch (corn & sweet potato chowder, aubergine & lentil ratatouille) which was excellent. Organic ginger beer also a nice find. Returned later for banana & peanut butter cake & tea & was not disappointed.
The concept of a community run cafe also appealed. Why are there not more establishments like this?

Lovely venue and great food. Me and my friend went to the last mezze night and ordered the whole menu and it was all delicious. Nice to eat fresh food at an affordable price. BYOB also keeps the costs down. Love it!

Just got home from a lovely evening meal at the cafe. The two staff were so nice to talk to, made amazing food and their service was perfect.
Three of us just ate a feast with the table covered in plates of all different coloured nutritous foods.
I actually travelled 1.5hrs to meet someone here and would happily travel again for this place.
Also there organic shop is very impressive and i bought some items that i dod not even realise was available in this country ππππβ€
I visited here Friday lunch time ,first time in the new location , i was so impressed , we came back in the evening for the Caribbean night ,Once again the food was fabulous and great service from very happy helpful staff .

I am a big fan of all things Crocus Cafe, and as I was pushed for time in the run up to my other half's birthday, I decided to order a cake from them. I asked for luxurious chocolate and ginger number, and it did not disappoint! It was named a Tribute to Autumn due to the chocolate leaves and berries which were beautifully arranged on top. Different volunteers each made a leaf, which just added more plus points to it. It travelled up to Yorkshire with us, and was eaten by folk from all over the globe! Northern Ireland, Germany, Belgium and New Zealand :-) Thank you Crocus!
Had another amazing evening here. Been the last 2 Fridays for meze. The food is amazing, great value for money and taste delicious and the staff are soo lovely and friendly. We'll be back against next week.
First visit here today for breakfast and I LOVE it. Amazing vegan breakfast, piled high and lovely tea/coffee. Amazing value for money and a truly special surroundings. I can't recommend the Crocus Cafe enough, even if you aren't vegan or vegetarian you should visit this fantastic place.
First time visiting the Crocus Cafe today for lunch with a friend and my little girl. A hidden gem! Food was delicious and inexpensive. I've had some of their cake at Sneinton Vegan Market on several occasions and the selection there today didn't disappoint. οΏ½ Will be frequenting more often!
Amazing quality food, all vegan and vegetarian. All the cakes and Thurs/Fri menus are vegan too. I go in there regularly with friends and the staff (mostly volunteers) are always smiling and helpful. Also all tips go towards buying meals for those who can't afford it. The food is amazing value too for the amount you get and the quality, with a menu that changes every week. Overall a great place for the Lenton Community :)

Maybe 6 or seven different dishes for very little money. This is also a non profit,community based cafe. We will definitely be back, the staff were great and it is a very relaxed atmosphere here.

Specifically sought out a vegetarian restaurant on a day trip to Nottingham with my teenage daughter & found Crocus Cafe mentioned more than once on t'internet. Had lunch (corn & sweet potato chowder, aubergine & lentil ratatouille) which was excellent. Organic ginger beer also a nice find. Returned later for banana & peanut butter cake & tea & was not disappointed.
The concept of a community run cafe also appealed. Why are there not more establishments like this?

Lovely venue and great food. Me and my friend went to the last mezze night and ordered the whole menu and it was all delicious. Nice to eat fresh food at an affordable price. BYOB also keeps the costs down. Love it!

Just got home from a lovely evening meal at the cafe. The two staff were so nice to talk to, made amazing food and their service was perfect.
Three of us just ate a feast with the table covered in plates of all different coloured nutritous foods.
I actually travelled 1.5hrs to meet someone here and would happily travel again for this place.
Also there organic shop is very impressive and i bought some items that i dod not even realise was available in this country ππππβ€
I visited here Friday lunch time ,first time in the new location , i was so impressed , we came back in the evening for the Caribbean night ,Once again the food was fabulous and great service from very happy helpful staff .

I am a big fan of all things Crocus Cafe, and as I was pushed for time in the run up to my other half's birthday, I decided to order a cake from them. I asked for luxurious chocolate and ginger number, and it did not disappoint! It was named a Tribute to Autumn due to the chocolate leaves and berries which were beautifully arranged on top. Different volunteers each made a leaf, which just added more plus points to it. It travelled up to Yorkshire with us, and was eaten by folk from all over the globe! Northern Ireland, Germany, Belgium and New Zealand :-) Thank you Crocus!
Had another amazing evening here. Been the last 2 Fridays for meze. The food is amazing, great value for money and taste delicious and the staff are soo lovely and friendly. We'll be back against next week.
First visit here today for breakfast and I LOVE it. Amazing vegan breakfast, piled high and lovely tea/coffee. Amazing value for money and a truly special surroundings. I can't recommend the Crocus Cafe enough, even if you aren't vegan or vegetarian you should visit this fantastic place.
First time visiting the Crocus Cafe today for lunch with a friend and my little girl. A hidden gem! Food was delicious and inexpensive. I've had some of their cake at Sneinton Vegan Market on several occasions and the selection there today didn't disappoint. οΏ½ Will be frequenting more often!
Amazing quality food, all vegan and vegetarian. All the cakes and Thurs/Fri menus are vegan too. I go in there regularly with friends and the staff (mostly volunteers) are always smiling and helpful. Also all tips go towards buying meals for those who can't afford it. The food is amazing value too for the amount you get and the quality, with a menu that changes every week. Overall a great place for the Lenton Community :)
Absolutely amazing
A great little veggie and vegan cafe. Changes it's evening menu weekly with different themes. We ate there last night and they did Malaysian food. Maybe 6 or seven different dishes for very little money. This is also a non profit,community based cafe. We will definitely be back, the staff were great and it is a very relaxed atmosphere here.
