Dairy Farm Day Nursery

Mud, mud, glorious mud Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood So follow me, follow, down to the hollow And there let us wallow in glorious mud!!!!!

This morning we went on an adventure through the woods! We wondered if we would bump into the Gruffalo or the Big Bad Wolf!! On our adventure we found lots of log pile and tree top houses. We also found Little Red Riding Hood's basket filled with Grandmas apples and story spoons!! The children really enjoyed listening to the story of Little Red Riding Hood in the woods!! Thoroughout this week we will be reading lots of woodland fairy tales, if your child has a favourite please encourage them to bring it in to share with us!

We have had the most fantastic day in our garden 'restaurant'. On offer was some delicious worm casserole, mud ice creams and a salad! We sniffed lots of herbs and found some truly wonderful things to mix together. We even decided to move across the garden like wiggly worms!!! We will be taking bookings for our restaurant if anyone has a special occassion coming up?

Wetter weather means one thing... MORE MUD!!!!! The other day we dug a big hole, filled it with water and wallowed like warthogs! What a fantastic time we had!

We had a spook-tacular Halloween party on Friday :D

Farmer Ben has been very busy recently on Honeypot Farm and he needed some extra help looking after the calves! 🐮

The Harborough Fire Service team came to visit us on Tuesday. We had a great time talking about fire safety, looking at the fire engine and all the equipment!! More photos on our private parent page. 🚒 🔥

There were so many big puddles on the farm this morning!! We also went to check on the all the calves 🐮

This morning we were talking about how to keep chickens safe from any foxes that might like to eat them. This afternoon we used lots of different things in our playdough to make enclosures to keep our animals safe from any passing foxes. We have also practised our cutting skills using a variety of materials.

We are looking to recruit a part time Nursery Cook.
Hours are Monday-Friday 8.30am-1.30pm.
Your key roles include;-
... Managing a small kitchen, including monitoring stock and budgets.
To prepare and cook nutritious, varied and well presented meals for the children, ensuring individual dietary requirements are met.
To maintain the highest standards of hygiene, ensuring all Health and Safety and Environmental Health regulations are complied with.

PUDDLE JUMPING... how we have missed you!!!!! Don't get me wrong, we have been loving the beautiful weather but rain means one thing... MUDDY PUDDLES!!!
