Well done . I've been coming to the gym for over 2 years watching the pool hardly used and the place like a ghost town in the evenings. Finally some life in the place and love the investments. I've joined the kids and they love the pool and the kids play facilities, which allows my wife and I to workout together. Great stuff. Note to management and all staff, old people don't like change and will moan about everything anyway. Your doing great and working very hard. Bring on the outdoor pool!!!! 10/10

User

Usually very happy with the club but after the Saturday Aqua class has been axed for no good reason, I am furious, along with many other members and want it to be reinstated. Arranging a class on Sunday is not acceptable. After attending this class for 10 years it is disappointing.

Happy again now that the class has been reinstated - thank you

User

The staff are brilliant here! Bit of a different review but I fainted at the gym this morning & the staff responded immediately, helped me and advised me. I have never fainted before and they made me feel so much more comfortable and less embarrassed!! Thank you.

User

Guest passes enabled my niece to have a fab time enjoying all the facilities.

User

An amazing transformation. Can't wait for the outdoor pool. The larger cafe is brilliant, food has always been great, nice to see more members being able to enjoy it. Love love the spa, just 10 mins in the sauna after a swim is Devine. Finally used the virtual spin studio, a-mazing. Love the fact that there is a 35 lunchtime spin, really got me working, super music and pace. But the best is the changing rooms, bang up to date, better than my shower at home! Love the Molton Brown. Bravo to all of the amazing staff. Some people don't like change, but how can you not embrace this amazing change at the club (remember we were all children once)!

User

Love the facilities, especially the pools, fabulous to be able to swim outdoors with plenty of space. Would prefer it if there were different membership options, as the price is a little too high for some key workers. Perhaps a limited membership for those who donā€™t want to use all of the facilities?

User

I really enjoy the gym and facilities but the cafe service is poor in my experience. Why do they only have one person working in the kitchen when it's busy at lunchtime?? Being told there will be a long wait for food is pretty much the norm.

User

What's happening . Kids in the mens changing facility running around all over the place, what happened to the family changing? Cafe resembling a crĆØche , you really need to get your facilities right and available before you take in kids and loose customers. With the new gym opening at handy cross and two others in Wycombe I am aware of , you would think you would want to keep people not loose them !

User

The club is great everything you want the cafe bar staff are excellent, I have been a member for 16 years at this club and just recently the cleaning standards have fallen, the machines in the gym used to e cleaned all the time but not any more they are sticky from sweat and that's at eight o clock in the morning. The changing rooms also the standards have dropped.

User

The Gym is fantastic donā€™t get me wrong and all the facilities are brilliant aswell the only issue I have is the price I just canā€™t justify paying that much, if it was less money Iā€™d join in a heart beat!!

User

Our Virgin Active is becoming a David Lloyd, we visited as guests. We also used to be DL members when we lived in the West Country.

It's ok. Strong smell of pool in gym.

Equipment was good. Like Life fitness, & members and staff nice.

User

Is Wednesday kids night now? Very limited adult tea time classes but we have one for kids? Who can. Cone earlier whilst adults are at work? Not good for nearly Ā£100 pee month !

User

Car park poorly lit. Havenā€™t cleared the snow from car park - not even the disabled or parent and child bays. Full of children all the time. Even the ladies changing rooms when there is family changing. If I wanted to be surrounded by screaming running kids I would go to a playground. Food takes ages at meal times. Air conditioning only works in classes half the time. WiFi is rubbish. Hardly any good classes outside working hours. App often doesnā€™t work then you get penalised for not being able to cancel a class in time. Only the instructors convinced me to push rating up to a 3.

User

The location isnā€™t Beaconsfield its more Loudwater, Woburn with limited parking.

The building and facilities are relatively clean and well maintained apart from the odd machine that requires maintenance.

The price is much higher than most, Ā£1,500 pa, I didnā€™t want monthly payments so I opted for the full year in advance. Platinum membership allows access to everywhere/everything. But wait... apparently itā€™s a family gym, which has been completely overrun by mothers and young children.

The vast amount of staff are great, helpful, knowledgeable and on hand at any time, even during busy periods.

The classes, when you can actually get a slot are well thought out and work to the individuals goals.

Overall, the DL gym offers all that is required to achieve the end result... a healthier, stronger and happier body, mind and soul. However, the amount of unruly, unbearable screams from small children and shouting from parents isnā€™t acceptable.

Well done team DL, you have lost another client.

User

Shocking equipment maintenance, right from the refurb. Treadmills either broken or have virtually unwatchable TV and that's been the case forever. Maintenance takes weeks of months and reporting things achieves nothing. Considering the Ā£3.5m spent on the refurb, one would think a decent maintenance deal would have been part of that. Who on earth signed off on that one? Bored of reporting issues now. Noone cares.

As a david lloyds member in maidenhead i travelled today to try a different atmosphere then im used to. i found the staff friendly on entrance and the surroundings were good and spacious. facilities were also new (or so it seemed) with a great welcoming presence for my partner and child. Equipment i found was limited though. i like the fact your gym has a calf raise machine and other isolation equipment but i didnt find the PT were that welcoming if im honest. Though i only had seen 3 up stairs they were not actually engaging in any type of activity. Now saying that my only downfall (which prob wont make me come back) was that no matter where you go and train in the gym it felt like there was limited ventilation. with the constant smell of the swimming pool (im very sensitive to chlorine) i found this actually began to give me a head ache and began to feel ill. speaking to some other users they also expressed this as a concern. .

User

Waring all members beware of hidden terms, with David Lloyd membership known as rolling contracts in the small print. If you fail give the club 3 months notice additional charges will apply, and the matter passed on to a debt collection agency.

Very disappointed today! I came here at DL Beaconsfield as I am interested in taking a membership. A lady was friendly and nice and she showed me lovely facilities that made me excited. She went through the membership details and gave me a leaflet with price plan. As I am a stay-in working mum the best option for me is CLUB membership Ā£60 per month. After small chat the lady went back to the reception and came back to say that the monthly membership has changed to Ā£70 and scribbled the Ā£60 print out. She said that the tariff had gone up as of 1st April 2018!! She also said that there was an Easter deal before April as well. I am very sad and disappointed to find out about the change of price and lost a deal. I originally spoke to her and booked a visit before Easter in March. I had to cancel the initial appointment as my son was ill. The lady never mentioned to me on the phone that the price would go up and I would loose the deal if I sign up after March! If I had known of the information I would have made a time to see her within March! I am very unhappy with the outcome. Yukari from Gerrards Cross

Unfortunately I have now had to resort to social media and the head office in attempt to have my complaint addressed.

Upon joining the gym, I repeatedly received calls and emails from the marketing team, yet upon filing a complaint their response has indicated a complete lack of customer care.

Having joined I tried to arrange the promised free induction session, yet was repeatedly told that no PTs were available to provide this session: I have been a member of the gym for 11 months.

The gym equipment is not regularly wiped down by members of staff and often the spray and tissue to do so had run out.

Repeatedly I found myself being unable to book onto classes, as the receptionist had failed to clock my attendance upon entering the club to attend a class. The sheer number of phonecalls it took to have this issue addressed was appalling and left me unable to attend any classes for a good majority of a month. Not value for money at all.

I often tried to attend the Sufferfest spin classes only to find the sound system had not been set up, leaving me to miss a substantial part of the sessions (and thus not having warmed up properly before reaching the more physically demanding stages) due to having to hunt down a member of staff to assist. I would expect that the money paid for this membership would mean that the classes would be properly set up. This happened so regularly that a member of staff showed me how to work the sound system, which clearly acknowledged that the club is unable/ uninterested in setting up a room properly for a scheduled class and rather than helping a club member or being interested in providing a top service (as repeatedly promised on the website) the club would prefer members to just sort it out themselves. Moreover during these sessions a cleaner would come in, put the lights on and start cleaning, as if no class was taking place. This was highly distracting and ruined a class that is advertised by its experience. Clearly the spin room was not thoroughly cleaned as the cleaner was unable to clean the bikes in use.

Due to changed financial circumstances and location, I tried to cancel my membership in April and was told I could not. Katrina (from the Oxford club) informed me that she would stop my contract from being automatically renewed. Yet in June I received a letter from the gym informing me that my membership would be automatically renewed at a total of Ā£75 a month (an increase of Ā£20 per month to my current rate). I have tried to raise this with the gym but have been completely ignored. One only has to look on the internet to see the number of complaints David Lloyd receives in terms of cancellation. The lack of consideration and amount of stress the club has inflicted is not worth the membership at all.

Now saying that my only downfall (which prob wont make me come back) was that no matter where you go and train in the gym it felt like there was limited ventilation. with the constant smell of the swimming pool (im very sensitive to chlorine) i found this actually began to give me a head ache and began to feel ill. speaking to some other users they also expressed this as a concern. .

The staff are brilliant here! Bit of a different review but I fainted at the gym this morning & the staff responded immediately, helped me and advised me. I have never fainted before and they made me feel so much more comfortable and less embarrassed!! Thank you.

Guest passes enabled my niece to have a fab time enjoying all the facilities.
