Derby Us Lgbtq + Society Description
This is the official Facebook page of Derby Union of Students LGBTQ + Society.
We aim to campaign to make the University of Derby more inclusive and accepting for all those who study here. We promise to support our members and raise their concerns and issues.
We do regular social sessions and gaming activities as well as share events with other Societies so that our members can get the most out of their University experience.
We'll keep you up to date on events, campaigns and all things LGBTQ + in Derby!

Who's the a fairest of them all? - Trick question!! WE ARE!! This year's Father's and Son's our society will be dressed up to the event as Disney!! From the frog to a Prince/Princess! Anything Disney goes! We will be joined with Netball, Swimming and The Rock society!

Hey all, one of our members Kieran is doing some research into the topic of coming out in order to determine whether coming out can influence the identity and behaviours of LGBT men. They are looking for for people who would be willing to participate in a thirty minute interview. Eligible participants must be: over 18, male and have come out at least once.

Did you know the rules around trans inclusion in BUCS are more strict than those of the Olympics? As part of the Union of Students’s LGBT+ History Month there will be a series of 5 short 10 minute films about transgender Olympians screened upstairs in the sports centre TOMORROW 5.30pm-7pm,. It is free to come along, there will be popcorn and a petition to sign if you feel BUCS should be more inclusive. We appreciate you may have training or plans and you do not have to watch them all but please do give some of your time to learn about this area of sport and show your support this month!
