Our beautiful Carrara and Arabescato marble sinks are not to be seen as difficult or ostentatious, they are simple and very authentic. They have a Mediterranean feel and although marble has a bit of a reputation for being easy to stain and mark, we hope some of our customers will embrace this characteristic and go for this look. It’s a lovely alternative to a ceramic or stainless steel sink and if you are the kind of person who loves a natural, tactile and well-worn surface, this sink will serve you well and give your new kitchen a delightfully restrained glamour.

Even the appliances in the new Islington Townhouse were well-considered and cool. Sometimes it can be hard to mix modern appliances into homes that have an abundance of character, especially when they are filled with so many wonderful eclectic vintage pieces, but the owners of this Georgian townhouse seemed to do it with ease. The integrated Wolf cooker and hob seamlessly fit into this bespoke run of Classic cupboards topped with a luxurious slab of Carrara marble. The canopy above was created to hide the extractor, painted in the same rich 'Flint' colour as the the cupboards below, a great choice that works particularly well in these spectacular period properties.

Beauty and quality is definitely just as important on the inside as the outside when it comes to a deVOL cupboard. Our St. John's Square showroom is the perfect place to showcase all things deVOL. Our ceramic pendant lights hang from the green ceiling, our handcrafted door furniture sits proudly on the cupboards, there's our Bum Chair and Stool and beautiful new Helen's Stool, emerald green tiles adorning a whole wall and not forgetting our range of handmade kitchenware too - all on display in this historic corner building in our favourite part of London, Clerkenwell.

Just five carefully chosen, large pieces of bespoke Classic English furniture made up this sunny kitchen. Although big, they make the room feel open and unfussy, in fact quite minimal. The sheer scale of the room means that there is actually a lot of stuff stored in here, but it’s contained and neat and you'd almost never know!! The island is the star, it's 3 metres long, houses the sink, dishwasher, bins and has open sections at each end ensuring the whole piece doesn't feel too boxy or heavy.

Lots of random cupboards with a hotchpotch of contents scattered around your room can be frustrating, so if you have space for a lovely big pantry or larder we'll always tell you to go for it!! Good organisation is good for the soul and it may sound a little silly but if you keep the simple things in life like food and your pots and pans all well organised then you have more time for the bigger, more important things. And for us kitchen lovers there's nothing that quite tops a well stocked and perfectly organised pantry!!

A Classic English Kitchen on a grand scale, not only is the room incredible but so is the location. We all love the Cotswolds and many of our deVOL Kitchens have made their way into homes across this county but this one is extra special. The Crittall-style doors and windows and the concrete floor give a modern edge to this beautifully designed space, we love a careful mix of classic and modern in a kitchen and these two choices have become so popular for their industrial yet glamorous look. We can't wait to share more photos with you but, as we just couldn't wait, we'd love to hear your thoughts...

It's funny how sometimes the simple things are the most striking. We stumbled across this beautiful deVOL Kitchen on Instagram. It's the first all natural Sebastian Cox Kitchen we've seen and we were so taken with its simple rustic elegance that we had to share it with you. Everything from the Venetian plaster to the handmade deVOL Crackle Pendant has been done with so much thought and style, what clever customers we have!

The Islington Townhouse Kitchen by deVOL

It’s a busy place a kitchen and probably the most used room in your house, so it’s worth getting the space as right as you can. Starting with a floor plan is a great idea, it doesn't have to be anything fancy, just a simple line drawing will do the job. It simplifies your room and may bring up a few unexpected options... it may not!! but it's worth a little play. Maybe you'll find you can knock down a wall simply and easily to make space for a big table, or you may find your current layout is in fact the best one - either way, it's worth spending a little time and having a good old head scratch.

This beautiful barn conversion is one of the new projects included in our latest Shaker Kitchen brochure. We make these (not-so) little books to give you an insight into who we are and what inspires us. We have curated a collection of our favourite homes from around the country and shared a little bit more about each project. We know how stressful renovations can be, so we hope reading these stories and flicking through the beautiful photos will remind you of the end goal dur...ing those pull-your-hair-out moments and give you some ideas along the way too. Having lots of storage is a must, but having a kitchen that is completely filled with cupboards is not the answer. When a layout is very carefully considered, it is possible to create a kitchen that provides oodles of storage but still feels uncluttered and airy and beautiful and not totally closed in by furniture. An island with legs and space underneath has an elegant, ethereal quality and by keeping the cabinets below eye level the room instantly feels more open and easy going.

Our designers are being asked more and more to create a little utility room separate from the kitchen, a space for the messy jobs, for washing machines and dryers and a place to store all those odds and ends you don't want cluttering your kitchen cupboards. Just like our kitchens, we advise to keep things simple, it may be for housework but a pared back, well thought out, practical space will make everything feel a little bit less of a chore.

Dreamy wooden floorboards, walls and Classic English cupboards painted in 'Flint', Carrara marble worktops, our favourite deVOL Aged Brass taps made in collaboration with Perrin & Rowe, vintage furniture and pretty collections of crockery and glassware, a very cool walk-in pantry and the cutest little pup!! So many gorgeous photos of this project coming very soon.

Our beautiful new "elemental" Kitchen has been chosen as Remodelista's Kitchen of the Week!!
This new collection, made in collaboration with Charlie Smallbone, is a totally different look for us, it's sleek and sharp and feels a lot more contemporary than our other ranges, but we absolutely love it. It's always good to push yourself and think outside of the box and that's exactly what we did with Charlie. One thing we were keen to still incorporate was the mix of natural mat...erials, it's something we have always been passionate about using in our designs - they effortlessly work in unison and have real longevity. The bold verdigris copper door panels were an exciting design challenge for our new metal workshop and we're already thinking of other ways to incorporate different materials into the design, we've been playing around with Carrara marble, distressed painted oak and crackled white enamel panels, but the possibilities are endless.
