A bit of a busy weekend it has been.
All the buildings have been used, and even reception played host to a Peak Camp QM team meeting.
The Climbing and Abseiling Team enjoyed their annual pre-season traning session.
... Kieran, Mark, Matt & Matt made good some more of the holes we dug round site over winter and fixed the phone in Larch Hall (It seems people wanted to talk for more than 30 seconds at a time....)
Dan genrally answered the phone...A LOT... (Apparently it's still "Good to Talk".
Lesley sorted the campers and generally sorted things out.
Bookings for camps are flooding in keeping Annabelle busy during the week.
Even Chloe and her driver Chris came to give some motivation.
Eddie Cat, well Eddie looked after the radiator and made sure lunch was edible...

Our updated website is now on-line. With more information, building floorplans and our new on-line price calculator you can see how much it would cost to stay with us without making a booking.
Of course if you wish to make a booking you can do this on-line as well.

A very busy work weekend for the Service Team.
Jobs included:
- Assisting our campers in the Bemrose Centre and Larch Hall.... - Filling in pot holes around the site roads. - Installing two new man holes for a new water supply on Fred’s Field. - Installing a new man hole and lamp post at the Training Field toilets. - Repairing the roof on one of the buildings. - Repairing the floor in one of the buildings.
We would like to say a massive thank you to those who joined us from around the County to assist.
Our next work weekend is the 29th to 31st March 19. If you are an adult member of Derbyshire Scouts and would like to come and join us, whilst learning new skills and having a laugh too, please email manager@drumhill.org.uk or you can always send us a message on here!

A sunny image for a dark day.
Just occasionally our tractors like to strech their wheels in support of Scouting events throughout the county.
No prizes for guessing which event they went to in 2005 Peak Camp

Good morning everyone.
We hope that all our Chilly Challenge campers had a good and not to cold nights sleep.
As they get ready to depart we would like to thank the leaders for bearing with us as we rotate the camping pitches.... If we didn't do this some of the more popular pitches would be overcamped and damaged for the coming season.
We would also like to apologise for the amount of holes in the ground round site. Unfortunatly we are in the middle of our winter maintenance/upgrading of the site.
Lastly we hope all the campers young and old had fun, we look forward to seeing you later in the year.
Thank you

We haven't said a lot here recently so here's a bit of an update.
Larch Hall building is finished and the campers who have used it, have loved it with some very very good comments, although we forgot to install a clock in the kitchen. Work has continued on the outisde over the Chirstmas period with Site Services moving some 100 tons of soil round the back to start and make a nice lawn area.
... We also made us of a digger we had over christmas to put some tubes accross roads for electrical cables used for streetlighting round site (we let the management have a little dig too). Last weekend we started an upgrade to one of our water supply pipes, to make a better water feed to the top of site and the new fields.
Last weekend the archery department were on site for their pre-season get together (and to prove that they can still shoot after the christmas break).
All this coupled with a great new years eve party (Including a game of find the missing drone) and last weekends County Ball. We even managed to fit in a night out in Derby, and a round of crazy golf.....
As you might have seen Spring Bank Camp bookings are open for campers and staff with over 250 campers already booked in.
The Teams are continuing to upgrade and look after the site to try and make Drum Hill somewhere the Scouts of Derbyshire can be really proud of and assist not only in their training but as a great place to have huge amounts of fun.

Please bring with you old clothes, gloves, boots and a packed lunch.
We will provide the tea, coffee and squash.
It doesn't matter if you can only make some of the day, all help would be much appreciated.
