We just sent two nights here for our mini moon and it was amazing. We stayed in a room with a four poster bed so relaxing. The staff were lovely amd the surrounding were stunning. We have stayed all over derbyshire but this by far was the best accommodation ao far. Defiantly will return amd recommend to others. Well done duke of Wellington xx

We came down for a family occasion. The landlord and landlady were very friendly. We had a lovely evening meal and breakfast. The views from the pub was lovely looking towards the castle. Would recommend the pub hotel to anyone visiting the area. Rooms excellent and bed was very comfortable.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay we stay for one night with our 2 doggies, the doggie friendly room was lovely, the staff was very welcoming and the food was excellent and it was nice cos the dogs was allowed to come with us for a evening Meal and breakfast. We will Definitely be going back and recommend

The most beautiful pub with stunning views the best landlord and landlady ive ever come across the people were so friendly my stay was just the best the food was 5 star i would so stay there again and god willing i will thankyou again Tonia and Tony your the best xx

Room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was huge and excellent value. A lovely little inn with loads of character and with a good choice of ales.

Really enjoyed are stay at Duke of Wellington the staff and management are the best people made u feel welcome and are very friendly the only issue which we could say to be improved is we stayed in room 9 and we would have liked some outdoor seating near room 9 as there is outdoor seating near other rooms but not ours which would have been nice to sit outside while smoking as it is a non smoking room will definitely be coming back and the food is really nice to eat in the pub .

My Daughter had vegetarian lasagne. She said it was lovely. I had a small roast beef dinner and mum had a small lamb dinner. I couldn't fault anything. Everything was cooked perfectly and was just the right amount for all of us.

We all had Apple pie with ice cream for pudding which was Devine.

Will definitely be going back.

Last minute booking, literally made in the car on the way here. Cant fault the place, lovely spacious clean room, friendly staff and a scrummy breakfast that even filled the hubby. Excellent value for money.

Just spent 2 nights with the motorhome here as they are new in Brit Stops. The welcome was excellent Friday when we arrived we had a lovely dinner Friday night and two excellent breakfasts yesterday and today. Definitely recommend this stopover.

Walked into Matlock steep downhill going approx 10 mins bit longer on way back up ���

Hubby and I just had Sunday lunch, he had a large roast, I had the small one, as there is always too much for me. Just the right amount for me, and hubby got through the large one with no trouble. Very tasty, and the beef just melted in the mouth. Will be back, thanks, great friendly staff as well

food was lovely, only downside is the only cider on draught was Strongbow 😔 that’s really not proper cider..

Excellent location ,gem of a place .Stayed for one night staff really friendly and the rooms are awesome really comfortable ,warm and some nice touches to enhance your stay will definitely return .Good selection of cask ales

We went in for a meal. I must say all meals except one was lovely. One meal tasted off and so we sent it back. She ended having a bowl of chips even though she had paid for a meal. We asked for a partial refund and this was flatly refused. I think it would have been nice to offer something back in return when your food wasn't up to any standard to eat. I hope you improve your customer service for everyone who has an issue. As it was not very good service at all.
