Dukeries Lodge

About Dukeries Lodge

A fantastic place to stay in the heart of Sherwood Forest

Having been recently fully renovated our wonderful 18th century coaching inn, we are now enjoying sharing this wonderful hotel with you. In the rural countryside village of Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire, the Dukerie's Lodge dates back to the days of highwaymen, when it first provided a comfortable stop over. Our passion has been to retain the traditional character and sense of history-even choosing to keep the creaky floors and wonderful stained glass windows. All our individually styled bedrooms, and our Maid Marion suite is admired by everyone. A family run hotel with a reputation for superb hospitality. Long renowed as one of the best loved venues for celebrations of all kinds, we also offer meeting and conference packages. Our chef is one of the best talents in the county and his vision of home-cooked style and use of fresh local produce makes our menu stand out from everything else in the village. Coupled with our excellent range of beers, wines and spirits this surely makes The Dukeries not just a hotel but an all-in-one entertainments venue. We have much to offer downstairs, as well as up, including Sky Sports and ESPN, weekly live music, pool table and even darts.

A massive congratulations to our first employee of the month, lynn Massy. Lynn has worked extremely hard, she is a credit to us here at the lodge, and deserves to be recognised for what she does. Thank you so much Lynn.

User

lovely friendly restaurant ,staff extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble we will be going back as a private function soon .. plenty of gorgeous food on the menu you are bound to find something you fancy .. thankyou to you all

User

Stayed here spur-of-the-moment job and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, my disabled son is a handful at the best of times and nothing was too much for the manager Karen and the girls behind the bar. Food was first rate- I understand it was a brand new menu only a day in but you wouldnt know the food came out in 15-20 minutes piping hot and great value- and the rooms really lovely for the money the cost. Would definitely stay again! Lovely local ale too

User

Popped in for a no-frills dinner and pint after working nearby on my way back to the hotel we're staying in and couldn't haven been more shocked at the quality of the food you get for the money you pay- you guys can't be making any money the steak I had (At 20% off too just because it was Thursday lol) was cooked to perfection and honestly one of the best rump steaks I've ever had in this country!!! No Bitburger on draught though.. sort it out!

I really enjoyed staying at the Dukeries Lodge in Edwinstowe for the weekend from Saturday 28th to Sunday 29th April 2018

The room was alright

I got good wi-fi on the laptop and on the phone with the code

The food was great with chips beans sausages and Rice Krispies

User

Excellent value for money. Saw on Facebook they'd launched a brand new menu and couldn't resist checking it out. The menu is packed full of choice and there is a specific deal on each day of the week, tonight was "20% Off Steaks" which my partner took advantage of but I opted for the Smoked Salmon Salad- the pic in the menu looked too good. Good local ale on for myself and the wife enjoyed her Prosecco. Not been in ages but will definitely be back soon (and regularly).

Convenience Factor.Always Looked after well by all Staff. :)

User

lovely old coaching inn, my room was light and airy and clean

good friendly staff, unfortunately myself and a friend forgot the dinner cut off time, so had the settle for a late sandwich, that the staff were happy to provide for us.

User

We had a nice time and the food was great. We shall be returning...Thanks.

User

Very friendly, nice room - travel lodge sort of standard but with a bit of history. Excellent location for Sherwood, lovely high street near guy and a good breakfast (especially if you like fried bread which is too rare in my opinion). "I'll be back"

User

Stopped there for a meal very highly recommend not had such a good meal in a long time, plenty of choices and a good menu for the children staff very helpful

User

Stayed over night for a concert only had a family room left, which we got for the price of a double so happy with that, food was nice only problem the saniflow toilet stunk when flushed had was so close to shower had to use it sitting on the side lol other than that nice friendly place

User

Sometimes good sometimes not so good but never bad enough not to go back... foods always nice, only grumble is sometimes if you order pudding you get forgotten about. Generally nice place though

User

Had a lovely night for my daughters 16th Birthday. Food was lovely and served in a timely manner to say there was 20 of us. Could probably do with another member of staff on bar x

User

Went last Friday for fish and chips. It was ok. Service not bad. But been in 3 times since then and no sauvignon blanc! Shame. So much potential!

User

Stopped here as we were at a wedding up the road, it’s a nice place to stay. Our only disappointment was that there was no vegan/ or even vegetarian option and no non-dairy milks for breakfast ( there’s a co-op less than 5 minutes away so this could have been easily available) We did state dietary requirements on the booking form. The lady was however friendly and did make us beans and tomato’s on toast and black coffee but it was a shame really, most places have these options readily available.

User

Food ok, lamb shank nice and veg but potatoes etc were frozen and over cooked. My husband had salmon and jacket potato which looked very dry. Desserts were nice, dlthough as Sunday we were under the impression all desserts were £2 but found out that was only when purchased with a Sunday dinner. I wouldn't eat there again, but this is also due to the distance we travelled to eat with family who live nearby.

User

came for my daughters birthday meal. hardly any staff on, no draught beers on but still charging nearly £4 a bottle of larger. Hair in one of the meals and when I told a member of staff she just said sorry, no offer of anything at all. We will not be returning!

User

WOW Sunday lunch is abysmal Yorkshire puddings burnt to black cinders no exaggeration and not just my one my wife's two as well. Beef and lamb shank couldn't even cut it chewing was well impossible. Spend a couple quid more and go up street to royal oak where it's awesome cos this is worse than bad. Cook should be embarrassed to send that food out and a decent waitress would refuse to. Manager ? Pop up road and see what food should taste like.....

User

If I could give it no stars I would. I understand if you run out of a few things here and there on a menu it happens. But over half the menu missing seriously! No chicken, salmon, beef, beef burgers the list went on. But as I was told you can have tikka that comes in a bag!!!

Staff were rude and cocky if it was me I would of been embarrassed to say the least. Shocking attitude we will never go there again.
