🚒🚒 Training 🌛🌧
Last night (5/3/19) we used the training facilities at Ashfield Fire station. This was to train the new firefighters in pitching a roof crawl ladder and to also refresh everyone else skills.
Obviously not all incident happen when its a glorious summers day so using our kit and skills when it's dark and raining adds to the realism.
... In the picture we have firefighters pitching the roof crawl and also climbing it.
We are always looking for local places to train so if you know anywhere please get in touch and we'll see what we can do.

This morning (11/2/19) we carried out some basic ladder drills and then used different knots to haul aloft pieces of equipment to the second floor of our drill tower.

🚒INCIDENT🚒
Crews from Eastwood and Ashfield attended a house fire on Plainspot Road, Brinsley yesterday (7/2/9) at approximately 1330.
On arrival crews found the lounge well alight and used 1 hose reel, 4 breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.
... The occupier did the right thing in not attempting to extinguish the fire and called 999.
✔ please make sure you have working smoke alarms ✔ know you're escape routes and keep them free from obstructions ✔turn off any electrical items that are not needed ✔keep naked flames and heat sources away from combustible materials

An early Sunday morning call for Eastwood and Ilkeston. Both appliances were mobilised at 0709 (25/11/18) to Main Street, Awsworth to a automatic fire alarm.
On arrival no fire was located and the occupant was ok.
