The more the merrier, (bring a ref mate or friend of refereeing) as we have a super line up of guest speakers for you this season and all of this takes a lot of time and effort, so nothing is more rewarding than a packed society meeting with good cameraderie and appreciation for the fun social & knowledge gained on the evening.
Thanking you in advance of your continued support.

David Hutchinson is a Master NLP Practitioner and specialises in improving mental performance in sport. He coaches many professional golfers and provides services to the TP Tour. He also helps a large number of referees – two at national level – and was coach to the Bangladesh Olympic team for London 2012. David also helps students through exam difficulties providing help to students at a local Wycombe school. In the coming season we will be providing mental coaching to the ...Watford Ladies FC.
In refereeing, David has been an FA Tutor (Instructor) since 1985 and as an FA Referee Coach, runs the Surrey County FA Referee Development Group. He is also on the Professional Game Observer Panel (Level 2b/3).
The theme of the presentation will be gaining and maintaining mental strength as a referee. It is important to project mental strength to those you are refereeing and those who are watching you perform. The session will help you to do that. It is also helpful to be mentally strong ‘within’ and some of the techniques presented will aid that. It will cover many issues, including how to overcome limiting beliefs, and combating negativity in decision making and the doubts afterwards. It will help you develop techniques that are useful in life as well as refereeing.
The session is lively and fun, and you will all have the chance to be involved too.

The first meeting of the new season was held In the Function Room bar at Ilkeston FC.

New members Kieron and Megan received a warm welcome, two young officials who have recently passed the basic course @ Derbyshire FA.

Before before business commenced the Society stood as one held a minutes silence to respect the passing of Malc Layton, who recently passed away.

Malc had been a member for 12 years and his good natured humour will be missed by his colleagues.

After the break, Derbyshire FA Referee Training Board Instructor, Graham Belcher gave a talk, he covered the new law amendments then a discussion on HandBall, intentional or accidental, what would you do?

A vote of thanks was given to Graham,by Harry Hardy.

The meat raffle was won by Isabelle Green.

The next meeting is on Thursday September 11th and the guest speaker is Alan Wiley.

Alan is an ex FA Premiership referee and he now coaches the guys who operate on the Premiership so all members & guests will take away plenty of developments to help improve our knowledge of Law & match control.

A full house is expected so arrive early and enjoy a drink from the bar.

Liam SOMERSET the Treasurer can be contacted if any person wishes to pay their annual subscription £18 Adult

£12 Junior.

The membership runs to September 2015, so it is well worth joining the Referees Association via Erewash Valley.

40 members have now signed up to the EVRA and have insurance cover for all matches plus training and any related meetings, this includes traveling to your venue and back home.

Look forward to seeing you all

Every one welcome from Level 1 to Level 10‼️
