Went today... Felt so relaxed the staff were so friendly and helpful. My little girl Sophie had a play in the play area whilst dinner was cooking then she had ice cream and loved it. We took cake away.... The waitress who said she was called Sophie too was amazing she made my Sophie smile and to me you can't ask for anything else. Couldn't fault today one bit. Everything was fantastic... Will be definitely going again

Went for dinner yesterday with my son. The service was really good and the food was brilliant for what you pay. The staff were really helpful and made a fuss out of my son as he's injured from football. Would recommend to everyone and will definitely be returning again and again

Sorry for the late post came a while back Laura served me and always has she Brill and u should be happy to have such a fantastic worker!!!! Came a few days ago to hear Laura was off and tbh the service was still good but not as good but thank you though

I've been here a few times and I'm always very happy with the food and service. The portions are very generous and great value for what you pay. Today we had a lovely young lady serving our table at around 3 o'clock, but I didn't get her name. She kept coming over to our table to check if we were ok and she was always smiling and very pleasant and polite. It's nice to see staff looking so happy and being so friendly , as there are not many restaurants that I've visited that have got such pleasant staff serving :)

Been brilliant every time...the food is safe for my boy to eat who is allergic to peanuts....the staff are great with the kiddies and always happy to help..never had to wait long for food but always told uphand if food will be a little longer than normal..try to go at least once a month with kiddies and partner

Realy great deal on excellent food. So much choice. We hasd very good, friendly service too. I suppose it depends who is on shift as some people weren't so happy with the service from reading reviews. Would thoroughly recommend this for cheap but healthy pub grub, carvery.

I have been here with my family many times and never had a bad meal, albeit the parsnips can be rather hard at times. Good choice of vegetables. Will defo be here again soon.

Great value carvery. I had the veggie one and the mushroom pie it comes with was delicious, I was stuffed! My little girls loved the junior carveries too. The children’s play area isn’t great as most of the things there need money to operate. I had to ask twice for kids’ cutlery as the man on the carvery told me they didn’t have any (they did). Also had to ask for colouring, but the man who served us was really helpful and chatty. Would return, thanks :)

Came here on Saturday around 1.30pm for a family meal. The food took around half an hour to come which was frustrating when we have a 14 week old baby and also a 4 year old who was super hungry, however, the staff were fantastic and so helpful. I appreciate weekends can be really busy so I understand why it took longer than normal. I will definitely be coming back in the future and hope the staff are still there and are just as friendly

While the food tasted lovely clearly something wasn’t right as within a couple of hours we were all ill. After dinner we went to order pudding, after standing in line for 15 minutes the woman serving asked if we could go to the other side of the bar to order. We thought that was Okay and she would finish making the coffees and be round to take our order, turns out we were wrong. She done no more than leave us stood there and started to take the peoples order that were stood behind us. This was obviously questioned whilst there to get told ‘that’s easily sorted’ whilst I appreciate someone else then took our order an apology would have been nice

Went for the first time ever on Saturday to a child's 1st birthday party I bought 3 rounds of drinks and ordered the dame drinks everytime and I got 3 different prices everytime that's not right is it first I got charged £7 something 2nd I got charged £8 something then the last I got charged £9-10 didn't dare buy another one it just doesn't make sense to me how the price could change so many times won't be going back there again in a hurry

It will continue to be a 3 star review until the kitchen team learn how to cook carrots and other vegetables. �

The meat was good and the desserts are huge. Bar staff and table staff all friendly and helpful. Recommended but bring your sharp teeth for the veg! �

The pub and food are top notch. The problem is the lack of organisation. Me and my pregnant partner arrived to the pub for a Sunday Carvery. Once seated i made my way to the bar to order food (which never actually happened!) bar was packed with people so I thought I would stand and wait behind the person that was getting served and form a queue. I ended up watching people just push in front of me and other people within the queue to get to get the the bar and order food and drinks. After standing for ten minutes I noticed that only one member of staff was now behind the bar serving and ordering food as other members was just talking to each other resting against the back bar. I decided leave the pub and go else where.

Came here because holly tree farm let me down big time got a table quickly in the children area had to que fo over 25 mins for carvery play area is rubbish after paying for our meals and waiting so long my two grandkids would not eat it waste of money they where tired and bored ect the beef was pink and bleeding on my plate i couldn't eat it veg all rock hard very disappointed will not visit again

Been today for the carvery . Waited a while for the chef to slice the meat has he was busy running backwards and forwards to the kitchen asking for veg etc . Most of the pots were empty and people were waiting around for food , there were no mash potatoes , the few roast potatoes that were left were so dry and hard . I think Staff need to ensure the carvery is replenished at all times

Will not be returning to the riverside as we came today with our 1 year old daughter who was ASLEEP in her pushchair and was told we couldn’t sit in the normal area as we had a child and people get annoyed with them!! So we had to leave the restaurant as the wait to sit in a noisy child area (when our daughter was asleep, not harming anyone) was over half an hour wait. Talk about discriminating! Shocking service, when its a so called family pub!!!!!!

We went here this morning for breakfast and I can honestly say that I've not had such appalling treatment at an eating establishment in a very long time. I am surprised that in this day and age, that there isn't much catered for, for a gluten free diet. We were stood waiting for ten minutes - that's absolutely no exaggeration, to be attended to at the breakfast bar. There were three women just stood talking and ignoring us. I'm flabbergasted!

I was looking forward to a nice steak tonight after a very long journey, 1 x steak ordered - rare please. 1 x steak returned, 1 x steak reordered - rare please. 1 x steak re-returned both were not "mooing" enough for me, 1 x chip shop supper ordered. Personally I don't like bland fish, over cooked deep fried batter and frozen bread but the garden peas were nice.

I really got a bit annoyed by this place, advertised online as has a kids play area which was a lie , I came purely for this reason promised my 3 year old dinner and a play and when we got there ( after paying to park our car!) we realised that the play area advertised consisted of two rides that you have to put money in , could not really believe that it’s being called a kids play area. Food was dreadful, would definitely not recommend. They should also not be advertising this as having a child’s play area very misleading.
