Up and down or side to side ?
The vast majority of shotguns that fly out the door here at FLG are over and unders. No surprise there, but sometimes a more traditional side by side fits the bill perfectly, and you can pick up a good used example for a fraction of the price of a similar quality over and under...
The best non English side by sides are always Spanish, the legendary A.Y.A foremost amongst them. However, there have been many other Spanish gun makers over the years.....
Denton and Kennel were Spanish made shotguns produced under licence for the U.K. market and considered one of the best of the mid price range side by sides at the time.
You can still see a few good examples second hand and pictured here you can see two really good ones here at FLG.
Both 12 gauge, double trigger fixed choke ejectors, one 27” barrels and the other 25”. The short one would be just the ticket on fast partridge or alternatively a hide gun for the pesky pigeons🙂

top gun shop very friendly always a laugh and sometimes they even know what there talking about �

When I was new to shooting I went here to look at air rifles. I looked at purchasing one for £500 however the guy I spoke with was so helpful and recommended something different once I had told him what I would be using it for. The one he suggested to me was several hundred less but he said it would be more suitable for my needs. Its not often you find a business that is more interested in getting the customers needs met above profit margins. Service with a smile seems to be as standard here and their knowledge seems impeccable. I live within 2 miles of 2 airgun shops however I choose to drive 20 miles to go here.

Went to Forest lodge guns today, to purchase my first shotgun, I found them very knowledgable, welcoming and friendly.

Lots of stock, if they don’t sell it, you don’t need it, will definitely be going back.

Well worth the drive to see these guys as I walked in did I want a cuppa. great banter made so welcome by all. Came to do the deal and this was done fast and efficient. Highly recommend this shop and was pleased.

We have purchased both shotguns and air rifles aswell as clothing & accessories from forest lodge, the team are always on hand for honest advice, we never feel rushed or pressured, always a super friendly welcome from the team, we definitely would not go anywhere else for our guns.

So, I would claim to be profitent with a shotgun... however I’m in the market for a rifle. Headed to FLG to have a look, I’d always known they had the odd rifle but by golly - wall to ceiling with options, this coupled with the depth of knowledge to fill the cathedral. I parted with some money (not a lot if the wife is reading) and left with a rifle that suited my needs and much more.

I can not recommend FLG and the team enough.

Popped in to talk air guns and had a no pressure conversation. Went back the week after and got a great deal on a HW99s.



A proper gun shop that sell air guns as well. Avoid the creepy air rifle shops and try this instead ( they are also cheaper)

No nonsense, if we can help we will attitude. Quick efficient service backed up with some non-exhaustive knowledge. Thanks lads

I'm really impressed with just how helpful the guys were, they didn't mind spending time with me explaining everything and answering all the questions a newby would have. That also have a very extensive range of all the above. Thanks for the advice with my new rifle. First time out and hitting a 1/4” 5 round group at 75 yards.

My dad bought his first gun today and Matt couldn't have been more helpful with guiding us which to go for, tailored to my dads needs and uses. Thanks again, we are definitely going to join the 'regular customer' crew! See you soon for some more custom.

Champion team, I was trying to get some 36mm Sako scope mounts, none were available in Australia or the US. I cold called the guys at Forest hill and they were all over it. Rounded up the mounts, checked them on the Sako 85 the same as mine and we were away. Highly recommended and many thanks to the efforts they put in.

Called in for the first time today to collect some powder. Really impressed. Proper old fashioned service. Many thanks for the advice Dave. Will be calling back soon for a

New scope.
