Would like to send a message of appreciation to all staff at the Friarage Hospital for helping the hospital continue to run as normal during the bad weather including the hard working night shift workers who I believe are the night Security who appeared to spend all the consecutive nights where there were snow blizzards gritting the hospital grounds ensuring staff and patients were able to navigate the site in safety.

This hospital is so lovely unfortunately hospitals are somewhere I have to spend a lot of time in but the staff in the gynaecology department are excellent. My consultant and his team are fantastic always have a smile for you and they really care about how your feeling and take more time with you if needed even if that means running slightly over. Can have a laugh with them too which is good when you are having treatment.

The office staff are great and very good at communicating and passing messages on which is so important. I cannot thank everyone enough for the care and treatment over the years.

The Friarage is my local hospital. I have birth there and my family and i have used it sporadically ever since. I went to A&E on a Saturday pm 2 weeks ago. I couldn't get again fault him care, the kindness and knowledge as I was sent from department to department through the hospital in an efficient and organised chain. Nothing was missed, everything was explained and get again I cannot rate the hospital highly enough. Thank you so much. You are hugely appreciated.

Recently had two lots of surgery under the care of Mr K Saeed and the day surgery unit staff. I can't praise them enough for their dedication and care. I was treated as an individual and thought was given to my ongoing health needs in relation to the impact surgery might have. Thank goodness for the NHS and its amazing staff.

I would like to thank all the staff in the Day Surgery Dept and the Post Op Ward. They are all very helpful, professional and kind, they made my experience and stay much easier yet again.

The Friarage Hospital is an amazing place and we need to keep it and its facilities going as long as we can.

Thank you again

I would like to say a special thanks to the unsung hero’s of the maternity world. I have been endlessly impressed by the Community Midwives of Northallerton/catterick . Throughout a relatively simple pregnancy but difficult delivery requiring additional post-natal care I have met many members of the team. The level of service with respect to knowledge, attitude and support has been amazing . I can’t believe how well supported I have been - these ladies are a credit to the NHS .

User

I was routinely admitted through the Surgical Admissions Unit for a HoLEP procedure (lasering enlarged prostate). Due to other health issues it was arranged that after my operation I was to be taken to HDU for closer monitoring. The next day, everything being ok I was transferred to the Allerton ward. I would like to thank everyone involved at every stage of my care; I couldn't have been better looked after. So a BIG thank you to the surgeon, anaesthetist, doctors, nurses, physiotherapist, domestic staff....absolutely everyone who looked after me. If I could have given 6 stars I would have.

I can‘t thank the staff enough on the High Dependency Unit for all the care given to me during my recent stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble despite them being so very busy. A++++ rating The CQC should give it the highest accolade! They are shining examples of how the profession should be! In my opinion it is a beacon of excellence! Way ahead of my local hospital who would seriously benefit from some training from the staff here! A huge thank you to all who were involved in my surgery and subsequent care which I appreciate wasn’t run of the mill being the difficult patient I was ! You made my stay very comfortable and I can’t thank you all enough! Well done on doing such a great and important job! It’s about time you all got serious recognition in salary for what you do! If performance related pay was in action, you’d all be on top bucks!

User

I came out of the friarage hospital last Wednesday, after a few days on the Allerton ward. The care given was outstanding, the staff put you at ease as soon as you arrive. They are great at there job, but also are so friendly and kind. Thank you to them all, so much. The hospital itself is clean and hygienic and the food is good. Would highly recommend the Friarage to anyone.

Hi. On Boxing Day afternoon i went to our local doctors to see about my hernia as i was getting a lot of pain. I was seen at 4-30 by 8-30 I was in the Theatre being operated on. I would just like to say how excellent all your staff were on the DPU Ward and Bay 2 on Ellerton Ward. Thank you so much for all your care.

User

Had my little girl yesterday. Can't thank the midwives enough, they were absolutely brilliant and nothing was too much trouble!

User

Firstly I had to ring the hospital to find out if my daughter could be seen in minor injuries, and the receptionist was lovely and helpful and told us to come right over.

When we arrived parking was no problem.

We booked in and were seen within 20 minutes. The nurses (Kim and William) were reassuring and helpful, to both me and my 5 year old, putting her at ease and answering her questions.

We were out within an hour with the “foreign body” out of the nose, no drama!

Thank you all !

User

Excellent care right the way through my daycare operation, from the guys on the day unit to the theatre staff and the ward staff on post op ward. First time under general anaesthetic and the staff went above and beyond to ensure I was ok

User

Normally this hospital has been fantastic for myself and my family, making the almost one-hour trip there better for us.

after being admitted to CDU on 14/06/2017, I was greeted with a brilliant nurse called Julie, and HCA I think may have been Gemma? Who went above and beyond to help me, and tell me in simple terms what was happening.

Come shift change for the night, I had a wonderful nurse called Shalona looking after me. She is 100% the best nurse I've ever had. She was so personable and gave me the time of day. Listened to what I had to say, did everything she could to help me.. and was just generally brilliant.

However, come 8am this morning, I was allocated a nurse who the other Ward staff had even admitted was horrible. I will not go into detail as I don't want to jeopardise a formal complaint my family are making.. but I will say I have never been treated as disgustingly by a human being in my life.

The few hours with her were enough to tarnish the brilliant job her predecessors had done, and make an already scared, lonely patient that much more hysterical.

If the staffing was sorted (both the man power and selection of staff), maybe there'd be less bad reviews, and less upset people.

My daughter was discharged today after a surgery and looked after on the Gara ward

Staff in my oppion were very unhelpful rude and arrogant at one point we seriously considered discharging herself from the ward

Only saving grace were the Nite staff

Helpful polite kind caring nothing was to much

We then thought surely the day staff couldn't be any worse than the day before but how wrong we were. Apart from the nurse practitioner genuinely disappointed. The hospital it self is nice small not busy very clean cheap car parking

These comments are based purely at the nursing staff on duty on the days we were there from recovery staff to Nursing staff

House keeping were excellent
