Gedling Crematorium

Thank you to Lisa for your kind words. Today marks our 2nd anniversary of opening and we would just like to thank everyone who has supported us and helped us over the past 2 years.

We would like to remind everyone that our office is closed on bank holidays (Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Years Day). However, the grounds will still be open on these days 10am - 4pm with the pedestrian access still at 24/7.

Our staff noticed this amazing display at our local A. W. Lymn The Family Funeral Service branch in Carlton. Their receptionist Lesley has hand knitted an entire nativity scene! Well done Lesley - a beautifully skilled craft for the festive season.

We were pleased to have been able to host this stunning Harley Davidson hearse last week courtesy of Nottinghamshire Funeral Service.

We are pleased to announce our Annual Carol Service is being held on Wednesday 12th December 2018. Refreshments will be available from 6.15pm and we do anticipate this to be a well attended event so please do arrive early to ensure a seat. We offer the opportunity to display a digital image of your loved one during our service, for more information please contact the crematorium office on 0115 9675230. We look forward to welcoming you here.

We’d like to offer a kind reminder that we do not allow the release of balloons or Chinese lanterns within our grounds. We understand that they do come in biodegradable format, we still do not permit these within our grounds. Biodegradable or not, these pose extreme risks to livestock and wildlife - both of which reside in our grounds and neighbouring fields. Our aim is to enhance, as well as protect the natural countryside that surrounds us. If you have any queries on this matter please contact the crematorium office on 0115 9675230 where one of our staff will be pleased to take your call.

An appeal as this hearse was stolen from one of our local independent funeral directors.
Please contact the police if you have any information at all.
We wish the gentleman assaulted in the incident a speedy recovery.

Our team would like to thank all those who helped make our open day on Saturday happen and all those in attendance. This includes local bereavement service providers such as funeral directors, celebrants and many more. We were pleased to be able to offer so much information to all the many members of the public who attended on the day.

Our open day tomorrow (Saturday 21st July 10.30am - 3.00pm) is now being advertised by the Gedling Eye. As the article states, there will be opportunity for guided tours throughout all areas of the building. Other bereavement service providers will also be there on the day to offer advice and information. Everyone of all ages is welcome, and there will be light refreshments available on the day.

A reminder that our open day is this coming Saturday! Teas and coffees will be available as well as guided tours of the Crematorium. Everyone is welcome.

We are now hiring for another Crematorium assistant on a full time basis (40 hours a week).
Duties include chapel attending, grounds-work and covering at our other sites nearby if needed.
