GOTHAM After nearly fourteen years of running the village store we are selling the shop. On Friday 31st August we are delighted to announce that Amrish and his wife Manisha will be taking over. They are experienced retailers and we wish them every success in the future. They will be retaining the Post Office and remaining as Spar Retailers . We obviously wish to see the store develop and trust you will support Amrish & Manisha with both the shop and the Post Office. Alan and I thank all of our customers for their support over the years and will miss seeing you all but we are sure we will see you all around the village. Jane & Alan

Another busy weekend in Gotham. Friday night is the disco at the Memorial Hall to raise funds for new play equipment on the rec. Sunday sees the garden walkabout to raise funds for the Gotham Nature Reserve. Please help support these two events as they are both to improve the fabric of the village. We wish both events a successful time.

Once again Gotham pulled out all the stops for one of it's village events. Last week was Gotham Fest and this week the Barn Dance in aid of Stanford Hall's new rehabilitation centre. It was a brilliant night, so well organised and a lovely atmosphere aided by the weather. A very special thank you must go to all of the Howick Family not only for holding the event at their farm but all of the work the whole family put in. Also all of the helpers who gave up their time and wow we managed to serve 400 people their food in 28 minutes.

Don't forget the Barn Dance on Saturday Evening At Howicks Farm. This event is to raise funds for Stanford Hall which is being developed into a rehabilitation Centre for both military and civilian personnel. If you cannot attend the Barn Dance then Raffle tickets are available in store. Please support this very worthwhile cause and help all those military personnel who have kept us safe sleeping in our beds but unfortunately are unable to do so now as much as they would wish to! Luckily for us all the facilities are being made available to all. Although the buildings and land were genorously purchased by the Duke of Westminster funding is still required to equip the centre with state of the art facilities. So come on buy a lottery ticket😁😁😁😁
