We have to start choosing our new dresses from the next seasons collections that hit the stores at the end of the year/beginning of next year, all of you summer onwards brides; What are you looking for? Is there any particular trends you are liking the look of but struggling to find?... Short dresses? Colour?
We want to buy for our market so dont be shy tell what you love and also what you don't so that we can put together the best possible collection for brides visiting us can see and try.
We have Designer Events booked with all of our suppliers over the Autumn/Winter too so plenty of opportunity to see something new ahead of it coming in to the stores too if you want to be any early bird too...x
We are currently loving to the light boho styles and also love gowns that have optional sleeves and back closures etc too, dont forget many of our gowns are available in lots of different shades as well as ivory so if you are looking for something a little but different we may have what you are looking for..x We also love the classiness and softness of the crepe designs, curvy and comfortable..x
We will be holding a big ale soon to make way for all of the lovley new dresses we choose, there will be many bargains to be had, all with our great after sales services available ot you as well..x
We are also planning a little moe around in the shop hopefully this Autumn, which may mean we need to close for a week or so while we get the work done, and have a it of a refresh, but it will make the shop even lovlier for everyone to visit.

We are sorry we have been quiet lately... We are here though, looking after all of our summer brides preparing their gowns for their big days...
we are taking appointments for new brides mainly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the moment due to the work load and need to get all of the lovley dresses properly altered and prepared.
We have received lots of lovely new dresses already from Essense of Australia and Stella York, we are still waiting for new ones to arrive from M...ori Lee and Maggie Sottero so be sure to keep an eye out on our facebook page and website for details of them arriving in store...xx

When it was time to start wedding dress shopping, I had visited two dress shops and hated the experience. In a sulk as I had not found 'the one' I suddenly remembered Gowns & Garters (why I didn't come here first is beyond me) I rang them up to see if I could pay a visit - they were most accommodating and told me to pop in. As soon as I pulled up to the shop, there it was 'the one' right in the shop windows. The ladies were so lovely and couldn't help me enough. So I tried 'her' on and that was it! I cannot thank the ladies enough for their time, kindness and help. Nothing was a problem or a stress - even when I wanted a strap making/added on. Cannot thank you all enough and I highly recommend this beautiful bridal shop.

Visited Gowns and Garters a few weeks ago with my Sister In Law and Mum! I fell in love with every dress and with the help of the locket staff chose my dress very quickly and at such ease. From contacted them to booking an appointment to measurements of my dress I cannot thank Gowns and Garters enough!! Too excited to wear my dress, thank you so much. ❤️

Today I got my dress with you guys and I cannot thank you enough I turned up late � and they were so polite and told me not to worry I was made to feel like it was all about it top customer service! Looking forward to seeing you in January once it is in ��

Thank you to G&G for excellent service and five beautiful bridesmaids’ dresses! From the initial consultation, where we took over the top floor of the shop, through to collection of the dresses, you were professional and attentive. My mum brought an essence of Australia dress here last year for my wedding on 5.8.17 this year. The service was fab, made you feel amazing from the moment you entered. The dress was stunning. Through my fittings the work was professional but friendly. My dress was altered and then lace was hand sewn along the bottom. Again, completed with perfection. Outstanding work and service. I'm still in love with my dress! Thank you!

Julie was so accommodating with my amendments to the dress to make it perfect. A week into being a wife and now have the amazing photos to look back on of my beautiful dress! �� xxx

From my very first appointment with Saffron in April 2017 all the way through to my fittings with Julie in March this year, my experience was just wonderful! My appointments were private, not pressured and I tried on as many dresses as I liked! Their advice was valuable and they listened to my likes and dislikes until I found my perfect dress. The alterations are done in house which is a real bonus as Julie is used to working on the dresses which was a comfort to me. On my wedding day I felt incredible! I highly recommended G&G and only wish I could buy wedding dresses all the time! Thank you x

Couldn't recommend this bridal shop enough, I recently moved to New Zealand and couldn't find a wedding dress I liked. I found one here on the website. The ladies were extremely helpful over emails and helped my mum show me the dress over FaceTime :) absolutely amazing service, Thank you so much!

Julie and saffron are absolutely amazing and did everything they could for me! My dress was stunning and everybody commented on how gorgeous it is! I would highly recommend gowns and garters; such beautiful dresses and designs and amazing ladies to help find the dream dress! �

Julie and Saffron have been amazing and very professional since my first appointment. They listened to what i wanted and did everything possible to make choosing my wedding dress the amazing experience that it should be. I couldn't be happier with the service i received and there isn't another dress in the world that i would have chosen over the dress that they provided me with. I was able to comfortably wear the dress right throughout the day and evening without feeling uncomfortable once. The dress fittings were effortless and fun, and they did an amazing job with the alterations. My bridal party were made to feel very welcome and involved with the process and G&G made sure that they were aware of how to fit my dress properly on the day. I would highly recommend to other brides to be. Thank you again for all of your help, you really couldn't have done a better job xx

They have so much time for you, never make you feel rushed and my final dress was actually a 'wild card' suggestion by Saffron after all my 'perfect' dresses just didn't feel right. Thanks to you both, I felt a million dollars on our big day and all of our guests commented on how stunning the dress was. Thank you for such wonderful service!

I really enjoyed my experience at Gowns & Garters. Saffron and Julie are both lovely and you can tell they really care. Such a personal service and I would highly recommend to anyone.

I also love that the alterations were done in house, when I first found my dress I wanted to change a few things rather than saying you have to speak to the seamstress they were able to tell me there and then if it was possible.

I could not recommend this place ENOUGH! Thank you Julie @ Gowns & Garters...my dress was utterly stunning and was perfect for my abroad wedding. My dress was ordered in direct from Stella York as I could not find 'the one' anywhere else and Julie was so helpful in doing this as well as Saffron on my first few fittings making me feel comfortable and at ease. Julie was so accommodating with my amendments to the dress to make it perfect. A week into being a wife and now have the amazing photos to look back on of my beautiful dress! �� xxx

I can not recommend you enough. I had the most fabulous time coming to see you at the shop with my mum. Straight away we were made to feel at home and at ease. The selection of dresses you have are amazing. I went with an idea in my head of what I wanted and you found me my perfect dress and it wasn't what I was looking for!!! I bought my Essense of Australia wedding dress from Gowns & Garters for my wedding back in March. From my very first appointment with Saffron in April 2017 all the way through to my fittings with Julie in March this year, my experience was just wonderful! My appointments were private, not pressured and I tried on as many dresses as I liked! Their advice was valuable and they listened to my likes and dislikes until I found my perfect dress. The alterations are done in house which is a real bonus as Julie is used to working on the dresses which was a comfort to me. On my wedding day I felt incredible! I highly recommended G&G and only wish I could buy wedding dresses all the time! Thank you x

Couldn't recommend this bridal shop enough, I recently moved to New Zealand and couldn't find a wedding dress I liked. I found one here on the website. The ladies were extremely helpful over emails and helped my mum show me the dress over FaceTime :) absolutely amazing service, Thank you so much!

Although I didn't end up buying my dress from Gowns & Garters I would 100% recommend this shop to anyone! Saffron was so patient with me and gave me her opinion on the dresses which was really helpful. The shop is lovely and spacious and has a massive choice of beautiful dresses.
