We were lucky enough to be guests at the trial run today and we will definitely be back! The food was beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and great portion sizes. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The lamb shank was amazing and my partner said his chicken Sunday dinner was the best he's had for a long time. They even had vegan ice cream, so my son with dairy allergies could have a yummy pudding! The management and staff have obviously put a lot of hard work in and it shows. Well done! Thank you for inviting us.

My grandson and myself had a lovely breakfast, the server was very friendly, the food was good and although the sausage had the appearance of not being cooked, it was. My only comment was that the plate wasn't hot so next time I will ask for a hot plate. Looking forward to going back for something from the main menu.

Just had a lovely snack today.....ordered chicken burger and fries/onion rings....lovely quick service and polite server,came out quick n hot/cooked properly and onion rings were blooming lovely....defo be ordering again...and I av £5 voucher off my next meal over £20!!...

I have just been here with my Nannie. Abouslelty outstanding cooking. Bacon and Cheese burger was the best and Nannie had the Sea Bass and Scallops Rissoto which she was over the moon with. Recommend this to your friends and family members. Jake Finnemore �

Fabulous food presented lovely, we all had a lovely family meal last night at the trial evening and we will definitely be back to try more of the lovely meals from the new menu. We had Steak & Ruddle pie , Surf & Turf, Indian banquet for 1 and the fajitas all was perfect and the deserts after were beautiful.

Anika was a member of staff that i met and was serverd by and she is the niceset person u wanna meet. She makes sure everyrhing is ok with food etc. I really cant fault the food it was absolutly fantastic like always i love this pub i really reccommend this place its worth it xxxxxxx

Went today (2nd April) - had used messenger to book table for 6 adults and 4 children. When we got there they had no idea about a reservation - had to show the messages on my phone to them and they hastily made a table up - we had been told we’d be in family section with four kids but we weren’t in the end and unfortunately had a few other diners looking down at us for having the young kids in an area where it was mainly couples for a quiet meal. 45 minutes after ordering we asked for just the kids food to be bought out as they were very hungry by that point - adults food followed 15 minutes later. No desserts were offered. Paid the bill and left (this took another 20 minutes). The restaurant was busy however it was clear the kitchen couldn’t cope and just not helpful when reservations have been double booked or not at all and having to show messages (thank goodness I had something to show as a phone call would have been my word against theirs). No complaints with how food tasted but for a family pub it’s not swift enough for in and out eating. Decor and refurb nice but perhaps trying to make itself a more three course dinner experience and not what it should be for the area - especially with a family attraction of the soft play.

We had booked a table for 25 people for 2 children’s birthdays, plenty of notice was given, and yet the service was shocking.

All the food was ordered at the same time and yet some people had already finished their dinner and others were still waiting.

The food itself was actually really nice, nothing wrong with the taste and it was all hot. So no complaints with that.

I don’t think I have ever been anywhere where the service is so slow. Main meals were missed off the order which left a couple of members from the party without food. I cannot complain about all of the staff as some were very polite... however others... a smile doesn’t cost anything.

The children were left waiting for their meals when the adults already had theirs.

Then when it came to pay they were trying to charge us for kids puddings that were already included in the price.

I really haven’t ever experienced such bad service. Especially in a newly refurbished pub, you’ve put the prices up and the service is shocking.

I definitely will not be coming back to eat here again... unless of course it’s for free!

Visited last night not impressed with either the service or food. Not enough people serving and food average not good value at £11.99 for the sea food risotto which was only just hot enough. Not particularly welcoming either. Fear that you will have to do alot better to contend with other places in the area. Won't be rushing back �

Nothing wrong with the food, apart from the excessively long waiting time. The service was shocking! Not a smile between the waiting staff or the bar staff. I also don't think it's appropriate that staff tell you and other customers that they're too busy to help

Visited today was very disappointed food was horrible first I had mac and cheese it was full of water it was like slop so had lasagne instead that was the same my daughter had ham egg and chips the ham was dry and going hard at the edges she said it didn't taste right was not charged for our meals but still had to pay for drinks and the children's meal and I didn't even hang around for the pudding i will never go again and would never recommend

Visited today on 11/05/18 for breakfast two large breakfasts where ordered they came cold missing hash browns and the size was more of a small breakfast , button mushrooms all 3 of them not very nice , bacon was burnt . rather disappointed as food was brilliant when visited before christmas time.

Went today at lunch. Got sat down but no one came back over so went and got someone, they took roder and advised there may be a wait as they’re short staffed which unfortunately may not change. Food arrived, ordered a veggie burrito but got s beef one, was cold in the middle and swimming in grease anyway. Wrap was soggy too so asked to change. My boyfriend had a burger which came out rock hard, burnt, dry, soggy lettuce leaf. When we asked for replacements we were told again we would have to wait. Told the girl to leave it as we didn’t have timed we were only have 2 meals from the cheap menu and even then it wasn’t worth the price. Cheap food = rubbish quality.

We went as a family with a 14 month old baby, a vegan, vegetarian & omnivore.

I asked what they had for vegans in case the one starter and one main course I saw may not be the only things - nope this was it BUT when the waitress asked the chef I was told there was only an aubergine dish - there wasn’t an aubergine dish on any menu! I asked for the allergen menu to check why the chips/onion rings/sweet potato fries weren’t vegan and there was no allergen present except it may contain gluten but they marked it as only veggie and not vegan so I’m assuming they think gluten isn’t vegan?!

We are bringing up our child predominantly on a vegan diet and there was no vegan option on the child menu so were ordering the only vegan main and a side of chips for me and her to share.



After waiting at least half hour, probably more in a fairly quiet restaurant (a third of the tables were cornered off and it was about half full at the most in the rest of the seating) we got our dinner. It was ridiculously low quality. Old veg was used that was obviously passed its best before date as the measly amount of broccoli was going yellow, the ends of the asparagus was brown and the stalks were wrinkling, the green beans were wrinkly and old and nothing had been roasted as described in the menu.

The chips had obviously been reheated as they were basically fried outsides and nothing left in the middle.

My husbands ‘luxury’ mac and cheese was cold in the middle and the onions on top weren’t cooked with a pool of water collected in the middle of the dish from being previously frozen.

My mother in law’s fish pie was missing prawns and the side of ‘seasonal veg’ was just a smaller portion of the mess I had on my plate along with a bit of cabbage they seemed to have found in the back of the fridge that should’ve been used by the weekend gone.



Overall it was pitiful and gross and we sent everything except the fish pie back, and then had to go to Tesco to get a ready meal so we could eat and get our baby to bed as it was gone 8 by the time we had left.

A waste of money on the drinks - a small glass of wine cost £6 and a bottle of cider was over £4.



We won’t be going back. It was better quality when it was ran as a ‘two for £10’ type place!

We came to try you out last night and was really disappointed. I had pate to start that came out like chopped up dog food. Then for main I had chicken fajitas. The only trouble was there was no chicken. 4 wraps with only 4 pieces of chicken and when I say pieces I mean 4 10p pieces of chicken. I Can’t say I would call that a meal. Especially when your paying over £10 for it. We left disappointed and won’t be back. Over priced cheap quality food.

Visited today and not been since it’s been done up, never going back again. Food was horrific, was cold tasteless and dry. Items were missing off the plate and when we asked to speak to the manager we were told he was on holiday so when I asked who was In charge the girl said the man in charge was too busy and probably didn’t care as he didn’t do the kitchen ordering. Staff had no clue what was going on, our kids were left starving after food took so long to come out. Explained a lot when we went out to our car and the kitchen team were smoking outside in their uniform so no wand r the food was so poor. Being infected with fag shit.

If your going in for a drink forget it, staff more interested food orders and talking, when their not taking food orders they disappear and your left waiting for a drink, the price of your drink can vary from week to week and if you ask why it keeps changing all you get is “Duno.?” I’ve seen people walk out due to waiting to long for any staff to serve them..!!, I can’t comment on the food but if the drink service is anything to go by then I wouldn’t bother..!!

If I could give 0 stars I would! I took my 2 girls for a meal tonight, it was 8.50 when we arrived! The place was empty, but took 15 minutes for s member of staff to come over and give us a table. We ordered drinks, then sat and waited to order for a further 20 mins whilst the staff had conversations about booking taxis! In the middle of taking our order another member of staff again interrupted, and they continued to talk about taxis! We ordered finally, the food took an unreasonable amount of time to come out, seeing as at this point it was only ours and one other table occupied! My mash potato was microwaved, which I mentioned, and he said it wasn’t! I explained how the mash was flattened across my plate with knife marks in and he replied ‘ oh yeah the mash is’,

My 2 girls wanted pudding which we stated when first seated, they we’re told no as it was then too late. Not once did they apologise or even ask us if the food was ok! They were more interested in getting home! Over all, it took 1 hr and 40 minutes to microwave some shit food. Horrible food and crap service. Don’t waste your money

I came in with my mum and my little boy been here over an hour it was hardly busy when we came in to someone openly admitting they forgot about us we waited over an hour for food I never got my drink and neither did my little boy we just felt ignored the whole time!!!
