There is still plenty of time to get sponsored to read - our challenge ends on Friday 8th March!
If you have misplaced your sponsorship card, or you need another one, please visit the office where you will be able to collect one.
Whatever the donation, the charity will be incredibly grateful for your support. We hope to exceed last year’s target of over £1000 raised!

A quick reminder that Orchestra will begin tomorrow after school. Clubs are on as usual this week apart from brass which will begin next week. Thank you. Mrs Turnerüé∂

We are recycling crisp packets at Greenfield!! All the children's empty crisp packets will be flattened and collected and sent off to Terracycle and as a bonus we will get a donation for doing it! So, all those crisp packets in lunchboxes will not end up in landfill, great news for the planet. You can also bring your crisp packets in from home too. #ecoschool #savetheplanet

As part of our fund raising for Mind UK, our official charity for this year, a team of staff from Greenfield and Thistly Meadow are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge! We are busy following our training plan to conquer the 25 miles and all three summits in under 12 hours. A little closer to the time, we‚Äôll be asking our supporters for donations to our fund raising for this very worthy cause. In the meantime, if you see us around the county with our walking boots on, give us a cheer! http://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/‚Ķ/ge‚Ä ¶/yorkshire-three-peaks

5AH enjoyed an afternoon of clay sculpting today. We modelled the dragon heads from our previous designs. Each child designed their own figurehead for a fleet of Viking Longships or Dragonships as they later became known.
Amazing concentration 5AH! There are some wonderful designs here. We will paint them after half term. üé®

The ‘Beat The Street’ team came to school yesterday to deliver an assembly to all of our children about their new initiative.
Commencing from 27th February - 10th April, ‘Beat The Street’ is a scheme that will be set up around Blaby and involves children travelling from one 'Beat Box' to another in order to gain points.
See our next post for more details...

5AH were discussing the saying “Never judge a book by its cover”.
They compared Mrs Salvin’s most treasured possession with a copy of the same book in their class.
It was interesting to see how two books could appear so different on the outside but so similar on the inside!

A treat for 3LS... for Chinese New Year, one pupil brought in his Chinese flute to demonstrate to the class.
