Gymnast of the Week - Week Commencing 6th May 2019
This week here at Twist and Flip Towers we have been working hard on Plyometrics and the importance of Extension and Stiffness in Rebounding. On Sunday 19th May academy parents Gareth & Jade Parnell are going to be taking part in Tough Mudder at Belvoir Castle
This is not there first Tough Mudder but by all accounts this is going to be a tough one 🤪
Gareth approached us late in 2018 and asked if they could help the academy along with CLIC SARGENT by raising sponsorship money and then splitting it between the 2 of us🥰. We was got smacked to say the least and felt very humble to have been considered, so thank you Ga...reth & Jade and we hope you have an amazing time 💚
We would like to ask that if any of our academy parents have a spare bit of change when your dropping off or picking your gymnast up that you will kindly drop it in to the CLIC SARGENT charity box that will be in the waiting area 💚as would like to help raise as much money for a fantastic cause 👍🏻

Just the update from Sunday’s GFA Floor & Vault Competition over Trix Gymnastics Academy at Alfreton Leisure Centre
What a busy day, but well worth it as the smiles show you in the pictures of the gymnasts faces and each one of the gymnasts did fantastic and as mentioned on Sunday evening in my post that we couldn’t be any prouder of you all, so well done 👍🏻 💚
... From our disability group we had amazing results Leila T came 4th Overall in her category Noah P came 3rd Overall in his category Charlotte D came 1st Overall in her category Kaitlin H came 2nd Overall in her category William J came 1st Overall in his Category

There was some amazing individual performances in a much bigger pool of gymnasts and all the girls can hold there heads high and be proud of there achievements 😊

We would like to congratulate Assistant Coach Ben on winning the internal coach competition we was running last week 😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The picture shows Head Coach awarding Ben his prize for the week and it’s still all to play for this month as there is still over 3 1/2 weeks of sessions left as Assistant Coach Lara is close on his heels and knowing how competitive Lara is I think she will be pulling out all the stops to make sure she is in the mix. Coaches Tom and Callum are close to ...catching Lara closely followed by Assistant coaches Kat, Marian and Office Manager Vickey

Our sessions this week will focus on Plyometrics and the importance of Extension and Stiffness in Rebounding. Rebounding is important for the gymnasts to have minimum contact with the floor to improve their rebound for other apparatus and more complex skills

Head Coach Nicky & myself have just got home from today’s competition over in Alfreton (Derbyshire) with some of our academy gymnasts who where competing in a Invitational Gymnastics For All Floor & Vault
We’ve had a fantastic day supporting the gymnasts and when we get back in the office we will add a post about the competition and how the gymnasts got on along with pictures 😊

We would like to thank Coach Tom for judging today and thank you for assistant coach Lara & Faith for stepping in at the last minute due to Coach Lorna taking ill a couple of days where she had to spend an evening in hospital. Lorna sent her best wishes and apologies for not being able to be their today but doctors and our orders was rest, so get well and hopefully we will see you back In the academy soon 😉👍🏻
