What a find! A chance booking of one of the boutique rooms by my brother- & sister-in-law led us to book a table here for an evening meal and....WOW!

Such a lovely atmosphere, beautifully laid out, wonderful staff, AMAZING food..... and the gin's not half bad either!!

We couldn't wait to go again and went for an impromptu meal last weekend for our anniversary. Despite the fact that we hadn't booked, Jamil managed to squeeze us in, so we weren't disappointed! I do recommend that you book, though, as it is a very popular restaurant.

We look forward to many (MANY) more visits!

Well worth the drive from Leicester for a treat with friends. Welcoming team, excellent knowledgable attentive staff who clearly deliver with a passion. The dishes that we had did not disappoint and set our tastebuds on a tantalising journey. Exceptional recommendation from Jamal and we will definitely be back. Thank you team Gurkha One

We were invited to Gurkha One by freinds who said we really hadn't had a great curry till we'd eaten there. We started with a few drinks and i can honestly say that the G&T (Gordons, Elderflower Liqueur and elderflower presse) was something that lives in the mind. The environment was attractive, modern and clean with a fresh palette of colours and clean linens. Even the bathroom had great touches like luxury toiletries. For the starter I had the chilli prawns. Honestly i'd have them for lunch, dinner and tea seven days a week. The flavours are light and fresh and the prawns were cooked perfectly. I then followed up with Lamb and spinach. Unlike the lamb sag round the corner this wasn't swimming in grease. The sauce was light fresh and juicy, the spinach had that just cooked texture and the lamb melted in the mouth. My husband had the lamb chops and wasn't prepared to share-always an indicator that that something is good. We finished up with an incredible carrot desert and the ever refreshing hot towels to clean our hands. The service was swift and good humoured. The Maitre D. is a delightful man who made us feel at home and was clearly on top of activity in the kitchen. Our meals came out at exactly the right intervals and plates were cleaned away exactly when it felt comfortable. We felt relaxed and well attended to despite a full dining room. I'd recommend it to anyone!

Quiet little oasis, really pleased to find this place on a long drive home. Menu is on the pricey side but the food is absolutely delicious!

Quality food, very attentive and warm reception - really appreciated the time taken by the owner to chat to us about his background. Would definitely come back!

Probably the first 10/10 my wife has ever given any meal ...she has very high standards. Great food, great service and we will be going back soon... this place is so good it makes you consider not putting good reviews out on FB or Tripadvisor for fear of reducing the chances of getting a table in the future!

Not a cheap run of the mill restaurant and it shows. Excellent food served by friendly staff in spacious surroundings. Quality ingredients are used and it tells, best chicken we’ve ever had. Lots of different from the norm dishes. Would definitely recommend.

Made very wecome as soon as we arrived staff very polite. Shown to our table by a lovely lady. Drinks order taken a lovely gentleman Jamil came over chatting to us. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Didnt have long to wait for the food to arrive . Very tasty big portions too. Would highly recommend a visit here .

Look no further this place ticks all the boxes! The food and service will blow your socks off(not literally). Staff are attentertive and service excellent.

In my honest opinion this area is not blessed with many high quality restaurant's, however the Ghurka One would be a stand out in any part of the UK including London. The food is of a stunning quality, the ingredients are top drawer and the service and ambience was excellent. Quite simply stunning, do yourself a favour and book a table, you will not regret it.

I've now eaten here a number of times and there are no words that can describe how out of this world the food is, you just have to eat it to 'get it' . Food and service are both exquisite, but be warned, it'll ruin eating Indian food anywhere else! �

Having heard good things for a while, we were given some vouchers as a wedding present, so gave us a good excuse to come for a meal. We went tonight, and thoroughly enjoyed our evening, so much so we have booked again for next week!

Definitely recommend this restaurant, it was absolutely delicious!!! I'm not a big lover of spice and normally just stick to a korma, but the owner recommended something different for me to try and believe me it was the best Indian dish I've ever had, little spice but so much flavor.

My partner is the opposite to me and loves spice and has eaten a lot more Indian food and even he left saying it was the best Indian food he's ever had.

The restaurant itself is so clean and tidy and the staff are so friendly and helpful, they will recommend something for you to try if you tell them what you like, so this is the place to go if you fancy something new.

We will definitely be back. Absolutely beautiful, can't praise it enough!!!
