🎄HACKWOOD CHRISTMAS TREES🎄
As some of you may know, throughout December we sell approximately 100 Christmas Trees selected from a sustainable forest in Scotland.
Each year we choose a local charity to donate £5 from each tree. This year we have chosen the Derby Hospital Charity as some members of our staff currently have close family undergoing treatment and being cared for at the hospital. This is our way of saying a huge thank you to the staff and the NHS by donating and su...pporting The Royal Derby Hospital.
Don’t buy your tree from a big business, support a small one and help raise money! We aim to have our trees on sale by Tuesday 27th November so pop the date in your diary!

As we continue to develop our plans and ideas for our brand new little village we are interested to hear your suggestions. What shops do you miss, want more of and would like to see? We have an idea what we want and what will work but we’re building this for the local community and for those a little further afield so any input is good. Remember - this is a small shopping village that is independently owned - so no big brand names - and no space for an indoor children’s play area - or a cinema!

User

popped in with my son earlier. The farm shop and coffee shop are very well presented, Staff are very professional and friendly. our drinks were brought over to our table promptly, with a smile and tasted very nice. Would be nice had there been more animals to pet and feed for kids but it's no major downer, we will be visiting again soon (y) :)

User

Went with my mum and daughter today for champagne breakfast to celebrate my mum's 70th birthday. Absolutely fabulous experience - the food was delicious and we had plenty to drink with a bottle of champagne and a bottle of orange juice between us plus a pot of tea too. To top it off, all the staff were so friendly and attentive and one of the ladies even sang "happy birthday" to my mum! Thank you so much to everyone for making it such a special treat for my mum. We will recommend you and will definitely be back xx

User

We have just had the most beautiful afternoon tea at Hackwood farm for a special birthday. The sandwiches were delicious and the cakes were just gorgeous . A particular mentions goes to the gluten free choice which was outstanding. Thank you Hackwood Farm

User

Was treated to a gorgeous afternoon tea with bubbly as a Mother’s Day treat. We all enjoyed the soup to start which was very tasty. The selection of sandwiches were delicious & the homemade cakes & scones were scrummy. The service was very good especially as they were very busy, would definitely recommend a visit.

User

Such a beautiful venue for any occasion, we held a baby shower here and it was perfect.

We had afternoon tea, the cakes and sandwiches were very nice.

The staff are all very lovely and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

User

Myself and my three daughters have just enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea for my Birthday. The food was delicious, the sandwiches beautifully fresh and the unlimited tea was most welcome! The staff were very friendly and efficient...Thank you for a wonderful birthday tea!

User

My first visit to the Farm. Loved it. Had ham sandwich and those lovely crisp, followed by a Victoria sponge. Very filling. My daughter had cheese. Very reasonable priced. Staff friendly and helpful.

Went into the farm shop. All home produce. Bought some gorgeous ham and a scotch egg. The scotch eggs are huge, hence only buying one. They are the tastiest scotch eggs I have ever tasted.

I will definitely pay another visit very soon and try other things from the shop. ( the pies looked tasty).

User

Lovely service & excellent food! I went for the first time today with my daughters the food was fresh and delicious, the service was really warm and friendly. I will definitely be returning x

User

Lovely place, lovely staff and lovely food ... extra bonus , I can take my two Poodles in to the doggy section after a walk ... I won’t leave them in the car so it’s very handy having a dog friendly place to visit

User

Loved my visit today, I had coffee with a scone with jam and butter and my mum had tea with lemon drizzle cake (gluten free which she was pleased about). Lovely atmosphere and also bought a few bits from the shop. The sweet chilli sausage roll was beautiful. Definitely recommend a visit

User

I went with two friends this lunch time for the first time. Wednesday is "60 day, if you are 60 or over, everything is cheaper. I had 2 beautifully soft huge sandwiches of egg and cress, some Kettle crisps, a fruit scone with jam and cream, and a pot of tea all for £5 !!! Fantastic value.

i then bought 2 chicken, leek and ham homemade pies for tomorrow`s tea.!

User

Had afternoon tea for daughters birthday...it was lovely.plenty of sandwiches and cakes and we had 2 pots of tea...the waitress even sang happy birthday to her. Will definately go again

User

Derby friends recommended Hackwood Farm so travelled from Nottingham to try it out. Enjoyed a delicious platter in the tea room. However my 5* is mainly for the lean meat pack. Wow. Absolute bargain. Priced it up in the supermarket and couldn’t beat the price. Even better that it’s all local and is superb quality meat. Highly recommended.

User

Absolutely amazing Mothers Day afternoon tea today, everything was perfect, staff were all lovely and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble even though they were incredibly busy! The food you couldn’t fault, sandwiches were gorgeous and the cakes were so light and tasty x

User

Nice atmosphere although in parts it is either very cramped or cold!

Tea was not very warm but cappuccino was fine but not very big!

Jacket spud was great! Would have liked butter on the side as it was swimming in it and I’d chosen it as a healthy option.

It was Ginger Thursday and my friend and I shared this option. Was a ginger scone with honey and clotted cream. It was absolute delight😃

Will go there again especially as they have Lean in 18 package for people on a health kick as long as you show membership of some sort of diet or health club

User

9 of us came for afternoon tea and we were very impressed by the value for money and the quality. Sadly, I’m reluctant to give 5 stars because we had to ask for top ups of tea/coffee and milk. We actually had to ask for the coffee to be topped up twice before it was. Would I go again? Of course. Would I recommended it? I already have!

User

Didn't love the pudding club. Disappointing eating out of disposable bowls with wooden spoons. £15 and we had to buy our own drinks.

User

Average quality and service I'm afraid . Luke warm tea , average sandwiches and cakes , not enough thought given to what a table of 10 adults might require in terms of butter jam and cream . Had to make at least three individual requests for more . Not enough attention to these details for the £20 per head Mother's Day price tag . Disappointing .

User

Was really disappointed with the afternoon tea today. Coffee was weak and horrible. Table poorly attended and my gluten free option was bad - no scone or cake to speak of, just a few wraps and rocky road bits. Won’t recommend.

Didn't love the pudding club. Disappointing eating out of disposable bowls with wooden spoons. £15 and we had to buy our own drinks.

Was really disappointed with the afternoon tea today. Coffee was weak and horrible. Table poorly attended and my gluten free option was bad - no scone or cake to speak of, just a few wraps and rocky road bits. Won’t recommend.
