Lovely update from Izzy Rugman one of our sponsored riders.
Since our last update the weather finally improved and our eventing season got under way. I completed my first two pony trials at Aston-le-Walls & Tweseldown. The cross-country at Tweseldown was the toughest track we'd done and she went clear, so we were really pleased. However, with the ground drying up so fast, Maggie got jarred up. She isn't easy on herself and always gives 100%. We withdrew from our next event an...d our farrier Baz shod her with special pads which are like Nike Airs! They made all the difference and she was soon back to her usual self, finishing 3rd in the BE100 open U18 at West Wilts and 2nd at Farley Hall BE100o in June. In July we ran at Upton House as a prep run for the Pony Club areas. I was a little disappointed to have two down showjumping, but she jumped an easy XC clear with a few time penaltys as we ran her slowly to save her for the following weekend. It was then on the the Pony Club Area Eventing at Dauntsey. Maggie was on great form and did a good dressage and double clear to finish 3rd in a big section. Sadly our team didn't complete, but we have qualified as an individual for the Pony Club Intermediate Championships, which are held at Cholmondley Castle later in August. We did the Area Dressage and have qualified for the Dressage Championships, too, so it will be a busy three days for us. I also have a new young pony who arrived 3 weeks ago. He is a bay roan Connemara called Derry. We took him jumping at Lyneham and then cracked on and did our first competition at Offchurch unaffiliated 80cm ODE. He did a nice test, with plenty to improve on and a lovely double clear to finish 5th. I couldn't have asked for more from him and I am really excited about bringing him on.
I will let you know how we get on at the PC Championships.

Super update from one of our sponsored riders Megan Barratt, and a massive god luck from us all a Harley for the Championships.
After our last update we were really looking forward to going to Saumur as part of the nations cup but the outbreak of EHV virus in France meant the show was sadly cancelled. There were also a few other international shows cancelled for various reasons and by the time we got to Compiegne and Hagen I was in the middle of my GCSE's and could not attend.... But the good news is that we had a fabulous run up to Somerford Park for the Premier league and got over 73% in the team test for a 3rd place. There was only 0.3% separating the top 3 places who were all part of the 2017 European team! We were really lucky to be invited to compete at Bolesworth International Horse Show which I managed to do in the midst of my exams as it was only in Cheshire. This was an amazing show, if anyone gets the chance to go in the future they really should, huge atmosphere and loads of shops and other events to watch. We liked it even more as we won both classes we entered! After Bolesworth we had short list camp for the Europeans and we have just heard that we are on the team for the second year running so right now we are packing up the lorry and heading to Windsor for pre European camp this weekend (4/5th Aug) and going straight to Bishop Burton in Hull for the championships. Jamie Wingrove has had a super week at Bolesworth jumping a 5 different horses in classes ranging from 4* to Nationals. Picking up many placings. Congrats Jamie on a super week for you and the team from all at Harley Equestrian 🎉🎉😀

What a little gem our first visit yesterday for lunch (which was fabulous) and a browse round the shop !!!! So nice to have somewhere close to home if you haven't been to visit yet get yourselves over there highly recommend it !!!

What a great place, great selection of tack, and so much to look at! The staff were so helpful and friendly, wonderful coffee too �

Went recently as thought time to invest in a new riding hat. Cannot recommend this place enough; the staff were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Fair prices and most sizes in stock so could walk away with my new purchase the same day -a bonus after other equestrian shops where the right sizes have to be ordered in and collected later! Already recommended to friends and booked a date to come back and try the cafe and cakes!

We went here with our friend who we were visiting for the weekend who lives in Hellidon, we had breakfast in the cafe which was lovely, then shopped, spent a small fortune (great quality goods at a decent price) then went back into the cafe for tea and cake!!!!! The staff are really friendly we will def call again next time we are staying in the area

Visited today for a lunch trip out with a friend and had the most amazing lunch. Lovely shop to browse round as well. Would definitely recommend and will visit again

Visited on Sunday as part of my first ride out with the Buckingham Swan Wheelers. As we walked in, a lady leaving recommended the egg & bacon sandwich. It was fabulous. The shop looks amazing but didn't get time for a good look but will return, without doubt. There's something here for everyone.

The owners are so welcoming, friendly and professional. The food is always very healthy and filling. It's nice to browse in the Country Lifestyle shop with friends, either before we eat or after, or both! :-)

Thank you for the complimentary cake on Sunday x it was delicious even though you refused to charge as you felt it wasn’t fresh enough !!x will definitely be back for the Bakewell tart x also thank you Chris - the luggage tag exceeded expectations x

Second visit this week. First was a ride out on the bike with a friend. Fabulous homemade cake and good coffee. Four of us today, tried the bacon butties. Real bacon and lots of it, beautifully cooked on the Aga with fresh bread. Staff really accommodating, very friendly, knowledgeable and very happy to welcome us lycra clad cyclists. Will most definitely be going back.... And soon with the plastic card, as there is some serious shopping to be done in the lovely country shop with some really lovely gifts.

Recently paid my first visit to Harley Equestrian (don't know what took me so long!). Brilliant range of all things horsey and great 'lifestyle' shop. Picked up some lovely Christmas gifts and stayed for a delicious lunch. Well worth a visit - I will be back xx

Really great customer service here , we were running late but the lady stayed over the closing time for Mia to get her wellies, and even then the lady didn’t rush us and made us welcome . Definitely recommend x

Our first visit today on recommendation. Friendly staff, lovely place ...we even picked up a couple of gifts. We finished with a delicious lunch in the cafe. Spinach Quiche really yummy with excellent pastry, lemon cake for my daughter, which was finished so quickly there was no chance for me to share, although she said it was lush!!!!! We will be back.

My first visit last weekend. BRILLIANT!

I will definitely be going again and again and again.

Ok I'm now on my 3rd visit and would (if I could) add some more stars to the rating. Today, rather than coffee and cake we had lunch. Awesome! All 5 of us agreed the quality of the food is excellent. Everyone, in all departments are so friendly and helpful. Definitely a new favourite meeting place



Just need a dog/pet section now and you will never get me out of there!

Marvellous!!!!Opted for the double shot latte and a ham , mozzarella and onion panini.... all lovely and fairly priced for the plate you got. Salad, coleslaw and fancy crisps on the side ..... will deffo be back , proper hit the spot!!!!..... Yer Can’t Fall Off !!

Just had takeaway pizza from here for the first time and it was amazing. Best pizza we've had in a while and the people here are really lovely. Will definitely be back!

Great friendly team, the cafe is lovely with fab cakes!! The saddlery part of the shop is well stocked and we always find what we need plus there is the added bonus of the gift section for presents and treats for me! Can’t recommend highly enough.

The lifestyle shop has something for everyone and the Cafe is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a fresh snack or Cake.
