About Hartsholme Country Park

Hartsholme Country Park offers wooded and lakeside nature trails, a children’s play area, picnic areas, fishing and a series of events throughout the year

Hartsholme Country Park Description

A Country Park since 1974, the site comprises Victorian landscaped gardens, a large reservoir, woodlands and grasslands. Many features, both natural and built, survive from the original landscaping of Hartsholme Hall in the 1860s.

Whatever your age, interests or abilities, Hartsholme will have something to offer you. A children’s play area, a fun and interesting events programme, an orienteering course, café, guided walks, nature trails or even just a gentle stroll around the scenic grounds!

Come along to the park and pick up a survey sheet from the visitors centre, and get involved with the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch which takes place between the 26th and 28th January this year.
It’s really simple firstly find a good spot with in the park where you can sit for one hour to observe the birdlife and wildlife.
Count the birds that land, to avoid counting them twice note down the highest number you see of each bird at any one time within the hour
... Submit your results by either sending the filled in form to freepost RSPB BIG GARDEN BIRDWATCH submit online

A chilly morning for Toddler Time today but we had some hardy souls come along to enjoy A Squash and a Squeeze!!
The children really enjoyed a trail revisiting the characters in the story. We then went on to create a cow out of a paper plate, did a spot of coloring in, and then created some outstanding masterpieces out of biscuits and goodies which quickly disappeared!
Thanks to everybody who came along. The next Toddler Time on the 15th of February so be sure to come back then!! If you have any feedback please let us know.

As recent visitors to the park may have noticed, we have unfortunately had to temporarily close one of the play areas in order to upgrade the flooring surfaces around the children’s play facilities. We expect to have this new surface in place over the coming months and apologise for any inconvenience this closure may cause.
To ensure the safety of all of our visitors in the future, we will be installing eco mulch, which is a hard-wearing rubbery surface that still protects vi...sitors from hard impacts.
The current flooring is no longer in a suitable or safe condition to be used so we politely ask that visitors do not ignore the warning signs in place and refrain from entering the play area. Instead, please use one of the alternative play areas in the local area or enjoy all of the other wonderful things Hartsholme Country Park has to offer.
Many thanks.

User

We went to Hartsholme for the first time on the first on June, and it is an absolute gem!

A lovely space, that is beautifully maintained, with nice walks, and a lot of interesting things to see.

It has definitely become one of our favourite places!

We will definitely be going there again.

User

We lived almost opposite Hartsholme Park for 15 years and have walked it and around the lake many times it is a lovely place to visit we often sat and had a cuppa in the cafe that was there at that time.

User

My brother told us about this place today and as a family who loves nature this is perfect for us..travelled from Skegness and we will be back again and maybe be pitching up in the summer :)

User

Lovely walks around the woodlands & Lake , with loads of wildlife to see close-up, its great for all the family . quality play park for the younger family members too. friendly & helpful staff ( rangers ). the park is a great place within the city that makes you feel like your living in the countryside.

User

Lovely place to either go for a walk or a coffee. Ideal for the whole family dogs and all. Stunning views of the lakes and woodland tracks. Great day out shame about the rain though. Will be going again for sure x

User

Lived in lincoln 5 years & never visited hartsholme county park: first time last Sunday with our granddaughter who's 2.5 years she loved it - it's amazing & beautiful- we've definitely been missing out - now my favourite place in Lincoln 💖

User

Great place to tire the kids out. They can play on the park, walk round the lake and feed the squirrels. Can always have a treat from the little cafe too. With free parking it makes for a cheap trip out.

User

Great park on our doorstop. Definitely recommend. We always take our family and friends there when they visit from far and wide and they are always impressed. Enjoy taking our dog for walks around the lake. Wish they had more funding so they could provide more for the older kids now mine are growing up, maybe a skatepark area and enclosed 5 aside football pitch. Think there should be toilets, the opposite side of the existing toilets, as its such a big park when you are the other side of the lake. Also when events are on, the local community don't seem to know about it unless youve been to the park recently or your on their Facebook page. Maybe they could put posters up around the Hartsholme residential area and school, and they would get more support from local residents. The passageway from the residential estate to the park, down the side of Jarvis house, is very narrow and full of litter, not sure who is responsible for it, but tackling this issue may encourage more visitors locally.

User

A lovely park first time visitor will defiantly call again. Even asked about caravan park it would be lively to park the caravan up there in the peace and tranquility just watching the wild life.

User

nice escape from city, very shaded so good place to go on a hot day, walk round the lakes, beautiful country park on outskirts of lincoln, easy to get to, close to bypass and on local bus routes from town

User

Went here a couple times back in the summer and really enjoyed it, however we took a trip there yesterday and was disappointed that the park was closed, my daughter was quite upset as we weren't aware it was shut and made it sound so exciting for her! However, we took a little walk around and spotted the ducks and squirrels. Will defiantly return and just hope the park is open this time.

User

We went for the pumpkin carving today and we really enjoyed it and my son really seemed to enjoy it too. You def have to book as lots were having to be turned away. However, what they don't tell you is it is not disabled friendly in the least. It is upstairs with no lift at all. I have arthritis in my knees so with the help of the staff, who were lovely, I did managed to get up the stairs although it hurt a lot. But there was a lady with a child in a wheelchair so was unable to do it at all and had to leave :-(. This is not mentioned anywhere when booking and it really should be.

User

The walk round the park is a must with kids and dogs. Car Parking is the only downside. I suppose they don't charge parking unlike other parks. Nice little cafe, wildlife and a play park with a vast open space for playing other games

User

Nice camping and caravan park just few kms outside Lincoln.

The park around the camping area is huge, includes sport clubs, lakes, forest walks and jogging lanes. Bring your bike and ride to Lincoln with it.

The showers and toilets room is small but clean and with an handy water heat regulators.

Nice receptionists very tourist orientated. Ask him where to park in Lincoln and how ro explore the town monuments. Precious advices!

Pity only : no washing machine.

User

Love walking round Hartholme but as pensioners who need a rest would be nice if the cafe was open in the afternoon. we were there last week cafe shut at 2pm at 3pm many people tried the door. so much trade being lost

User

It's a lovely place to take in some quality time with anyone, it's a nice walk and the park is fun for the children to let off some steam.

User

Great place to walk and cycle. Very well kept. Ideal place for a great family and dog walk. Very friendly staff in the small cafe. It puts queen Elizabeth park in Grantham to shame

User

Love the park and the walks but the amount to of dog poo is disgusting. We had to really watch where we were walking and that was on paths not the grass!! Not impressed to find some on my sons football!! Also, whilst sat outside the cafe another table were asked to leave because they had brought some pack up, but they had spent money in the cafe on chips, hot drinks, ice creams etc. They weren't happy being asked to leave just because they had brought some grapes in a tub....so they didn't move and I dont blame them. Rude staff and overpriced ice creams!!!!
