The Harvester at Riverside Northampton is somewhere that I never really considered when thinking about breakfast but last Sunday ( I don't know why ) me and and friend of mine thought we'd stay local and try the Harvester....

£8.99 All In !!!

But it wasn't the price that impressed me, it was the quality of the food. No soggy oily rubbish here...

Brilliant !!!

Even the staff were a cut above the normal, helpful, friendly and happy.

Just the thing you need on a miserable Sunday morning, lol.

Trust me I don't work there and I don't any of them, this is my totally honest review of the place.

Hubby and I popped in yesterday morning for a breakfast, we hadn't booked and waited about five minutes, we hadn't had the breakfast before so the guy in charge who was very friendly explained the options and best deals etc. We ordered our food and then visited the continental bar, there was a good selection, catering for pretty much everyone's needs, the hot food was delicious, the guy in charge asked a couple of times his we were doing etc, all in all a very pleasant visit and lovely staff, a well led team x

Great breakfast � this morning. Lovely selection, nice and clean. Pleasant staff.

Harvester, just an idea... put a small bowl in the middle of the tables for the butter wrappers, jam pots etc. Will keep the tables clear and surely easier for you to clean up?

Recently had a makeover. Bonus - The whole place is spotlessly clean.

Usual choices of food - served hot and well cooked. Service and attention was very good and we weren't rushed out.

Would visit again.

Good service have good time yesterday

Waiting on staff were friendly but let down by the kitchen, ordered pizza but pizza ovens had broken, ordered chicken wraps but they brought the waffles out, sent these back to be told they had ran out of wraps. So decided to have salad with two chicken starters. They had cheek then to charge for salads as they were not with a mains that we have tried to purchase to no avail!! When this was brought to their attention they did reimburse the salads. Shame as what we did eat we enjoyed. Would go back think we caught them on a bad day.

The manager and the staff were very friendly and helpful but the food was a bit of a let down. My husband ordered the 8oz rump steak . I ordered the gammon steak. We helped ourselves to the salad bar and the bread rolls. Our bread rolls were unfortunately very hard and overcooked and we didn't really like the choice of salad at the bar. My husband asked for his steak to be cooked to medium but when it arrived it was actually quite rare and the plate was covered in Rocket not Watercress as stated on the menu. My husband hates Rocket so that was immediately removed by the waitress. My gammon steak came with garden peas. The peas had unfortunately been boiled to death and looked more like mushy peas. My husband opted for an icecream dessert. He decided that very little could go wrong with icecream. (Thankfully nothing did go wrong). I decided to pass on dessert. Maybe we were just unlucky tonight.

Visited for my daughters birthday lunch today, sorry to say the experience was very disappointing. Extremely slow service with no explanation, food could be seen sat under the warming lamps waiting to be taken to tables for at least 10 minutes, random people seen wandering through from the back (? Kitchen area?) through the restaurant, our food was ok but nothing special (not that we were asked) and the salad bar was quite sorry looking! The only redeeming feature was that the manager (when I asked to speak to him) was very apologetic and advised that he will be working with his team to improve things. I hope he manages to do so as I wouldn’t want to return if things remain as they were today!

The rice and beans were dry and hard. The salad bar had mostly stuff like coleslaw. Not my cup of tea.

We booked to go to this haverster yesterday before going to the theatre.

The service was disgusting & disappointing.

One of my guest had cold & hard jacket potato.

This was our first visit to this haverster! At Northampton.

We arrived at 10:45 which is quite late for breakfast understandably. We were ignored it initially then seated 5 mins later. We ordered our food and waited for 45 minutes for it be brought to us. Just as I was about to enquire our meals were brought to us; there were no apologies for the delay in our food or any updates whilst we were waiting.

When received the food was warm; not hot as we’d expected.

We paid via the app and had to ask the waiter for our table number which seemed pointless, we’d presumed that the process was supposed to be quicker, with little interaction from the staff.

All in all, a disappointing experience.

Was ignored when we arrived. Was seated 5 mins later. They took our order and we waited 45 mins to be served our breakfast which was barely warm when it arrived. There was no apology for the delay and no explanation. We were basically ignored the whole time. When it came to paying via the app there were no table numbers which I thought was very odd. All in all, not the best experience, in fact it was very disappointing

They served me the festive menu dessert, chocolate orange truffle torte, it did not look like dessert it looked like human faeces

I did love the harvester but after this experience I don't!!! order food for the first plate to come and the chicken leg was pink for then a replace meal to come and the chicken was even pinker!!! We then got told that is how chicken should look and that if we go to nados it looked the same (which in my experience it never has) he then took one meal of the bill leaving it to nearly £20 I explained I was happy to pay for the drinks but not the food as we hardly touched it!! we then got told if we didn't pay for the UNCOOKED FOOD the police would be called!! Harvester at riverside I think you need to invest in some new thermometers!! I am more than happy to send pics on request !!

Service was slow. It wasn’t busy but took half an hour for the food to arrive which would have been ok but the food wasn’t great, pulled pork burger was overly smothered in sauce and not edible

Poor service, kept messing orders up & having to wait ages. Do not recommend going, the food wasn’t that great in my opinion. Will not be going back.

Myself and family visited one of your restaurants yesterday, harvester riverside Northampton. We walked out without paying due to not coming to a resolution with management. I had ordered a chicken wrap meal, after 3 bites I looked and noticed the chicken was very pink, it was raw! I am also 21weeks pregnant. We called over a waiter who looked confirmed it was raw and took it to the kitchen. Within 5minutes , to whom I assume was a Manager had started by saying it wasn’t raw it was just a vein in the chicken which is something that cannot be helped. I felt really disappointed and upset by this as felt mine and my unborn baby’s health did not matter, I said I wasn’t happy and they said they would just take the meal of the meal. I of course was not happy with this. He still went on to try and fob me off saying the seansoning makes the chicken look pink. I said I was happy to pay drinks bill and not the food bill, as a way of compensation, considering I could become very ill. He said that’s not acceptable and wants me to pay the whole bill or he would call police. He said there is no proof that I would have food poisoning and still kept saying that the chicken was fine, despite another waiter also confirming with us it was raw. I ended up walking away in tears, I am very emotional at the moment, due to pregnancy and overall disappointed how I was treated. We walked out.

I would have been happy to pay part of the bill if I wasn’t made out that there was nothing wrong, as the manager just kept saying it was fine. I would like something done regarding this!
