Went several months ago and food was like below average Pub food very poor.

BUT ....

Went today to give them another chance

Happy to say service and meal was excellent.

All food cooked to perfection and served hot.

Now back to #1 as family birthday meal venue.

Fab meal and service. Julia is our favourite waitress. Always guaranteed an enjoyable time when Julia serves us.

Came in Saturday with the family it was quite busy but we were shown to our table straight away and asked what drinks we wanted. Food was good, service was fast and efficient , kids enjoyed there deserts. On a whole it was a vey pleasant experience and we will coming back again.

Went on Saturday 30th September it was quite busy but had a reservation so no problem for a table. We were promptly asked for our drinks order from a very nice waitress. Our food order was soon taken although told there was a 40 minute wait for the chicken meal but arrived after 30 minutes. This was no problem as we soon got tucked into the lovely salad bar. The meals were served by a waiter who was in training but his manner and friendliness could not be faulted. The food was good not fine dining but what you would expect, value for money and affordable. We will be back.

Three of us visited on Saturday lunchtime (21st October 2017). We didn't have a reservation. We waited a while and then a lady wandered up and muttered something which was barely audible - something about her not being able to allocate us a table because she keeps making mistakes (?) - she then wandered off again ! It is this that drops one point off my review. Please Harvester, don't let this lady near your guests.

Luckily a gentleman then arrived and we were seated immediately. Our server was Tanya. Top marks to her - she was attentive, professional, polite, actually I think she would be good at anything. Please Harvester, give her a pay rise - she is a brilliant advert for your establishment.

We ordered, and in fact two of our dishes were delivered to the table incorrectly (mistake by kitchen staff), but rectified so quickly and with such good service by Tanya, that I have not deducted any points for this! When corrected, the food was excellent, and we thought very fairly priced.

Decor good, toilets clean, service second to none.

User

Service really good Very nice lad who served us pilot and friendly salad bar even better than was before and food all very nice maybe a little bit pricey on some meals but still such a nice place to come

User

Firstly I must say the food was lovely and we were looked after well by our waiter mat however he was rushed of his feet so didn't have time to clear tables so we and the table at the side of us were given our pudding wile our tables were still full of.the pots from our dinner wich is not acceptable drove me mad

At first we went to the one at Pride Park in Derby, which was a mistake as there is normally an issue there, so as we were due in Nottingham we dropped in here for the first time for breakfast. We were served quickly and our cooked brekky came out almost straight away while we were getting toast etc. And it was delicious so we will probably try here again

Went for lunch with a friend yesterday, meal was OK however WHEN DID THE COBS CHANGE!? They were like bullets, the brown one I couldn't even cut through, although it was one of the last few in the basket, there were also only a few white ones, they did eventually bring some out but they weren't like the good old twisted ones they used to have..... OK meal for the price and we did get 1/3 off as it was between 2-5, not sure I would return as the Derby restaurant is way better

User

We went on the 27th April for a lunch time meal for my hubby birthday his meal was nice mine was plaice and was a bit soggy and didn t have any chips as they were skinny fries and was told they had run out best it was the salad bar the waitress was in a rush for the table but not busy with people as she asked us if we wanted the bill same time as the table next door we went into the harvester in Burton but don't think I'll go to this one again I'll stick to the wolds in west bridgeford food is better

User

We came to harvester yesterday Friday 29/6/18 there was me & my daughter & my parents who are in their 80s we really do enjoy the unlimited salad it's always enjoyable but I do have trouble picking what I enjoy from their menu there just seems to be something missing I ordered a starter of chicken skewers & paid for salad & chips I do love chicken skewers but was very disappointed when I received them I could have bought them from Iceland and I wish they would have chips on the menu we are not really in to fries this may be my fault for being fussy but my mum couldn't eat a lot of the fries because they were thin & hard. Sorry about this review

User

Nice meal as usual but waitress had to be asked two different times to take dirty glasses or few pots away rather than just take order then walking away as seated at small table for 2 people which good but can get crowded if not cleared & would have preferred a larger table, plus in gents toilets , bolts broken off cubicle doors , not repaired, loo roll holder broken not repaired , , plus feecees all around edge loo seat, clearly not to be expected standard of a national chain & not usual standards so in way left little disappointed

User

Waitress was nice and polite. Meals arrived promptly. She then went on her break and we askee the waiter collecting out plates before a pudding menu. waited 45 mins before we eventually just paid for our food via the app and left.

User

Very disappointed in the food and service yesterday evening. Mashed potatoes and beans from childrens menu were cold. My fish and chips and my partners scampi were almost inedible having been left under the IR lights for so long. Took an hour and 35mins for a one course meal, service certainly not what we are used to at a Harvester, sort yourselves out!

User

Service from Tanya was excellent. Could not fault her.

Food however was aweful! We had 2 mixed grills, meat was fatty, gammon was too salty to eat and mushrooms were burnt. Also a spicy chicken and charizo stack. The charizo looked like a burnt prune was inedible and the chicken was burnt. We all upgraded to sweet potato fries, these were cold on all 3 plates.

The website and restaurant states that food is served until 10pm. We went in at 20:40, the salad bar was far from replenished and fresh. There was croutons and bacon bits etc in all of the sauces. Surely this should remain fresh until the end of service?

Overall a very poor dining experience. The bill for 3 people was just short of £65!!! I wouldn't have expected to pay over £30 for what we experienced.

I wasn't too pleased on my last trip. We went on Sunday 6th Aug for our first wedding anniversary (trying to create a special memory as we has our reception there a year before on that same day). We was seated by Ian who saw us waiting (along time), he was also our waiter the year before, he remembered us and made conversation but unfortunately for us Ian's shift had just finished. We waited along time for drinks and food. Others had been asked if they wanted dessert menus while we sat there like lemons. When our ice cream did arrive it was more like a bowel of cream. I also felt uncomfortable as tables were left dirty around us for almost an hour (plates, glasses ect). when we was leavinging I said thank you but no one made an effort to reply. Not the memory I wanted

User

This has to be the worst harvester in the land.

There was only 4 tables in when we were there and it took 40 minutes for food to arrive. When food did arrive it was too hot to eat, not because it was freshly cook, but because it had been sat under the pass for too long which was on too high.

Daughter 1's food was missing a jacket potato(which we was told would be 30 mins when ordering, hence not complaining when food took 40 mins. Daughter 2 ordered 4 starters as a main, garlic bread= baked to a crisp, chicken wings= over cooked and dry, potato skins= not much filling and tasteless, crackerjack shrimp = tasteless. My half rack of ribs was fine but was missing the corn on cob and the chips were all wrinkly. We had a total of 3 different waiting staff, the last being a really miserable older lady.

On a positive, the toilet was clean and odour free.

We will never revisit this place again!!!!!!
