Hayward House is a specialist palliative care unit in the grounds of the City Hospital. It provides high quality care centred on the needs of patients and their families. Its aim is to enrich the quality of life through the skills of an experienced and caring team.
Hayward House offers palliative care from diagnosis, through the interim periods of advancing disease, up to and including end of life care. Patients’ pain and other symptoms are addressed; so too are emotional, spiritual and social problems of both patients and their families. A bereavement /counselling service is also provided.

When I was first asked to go I had a false misconception about hospices being the place you go to pass . How wrong was I Hayward house intruduced me to other people with terminal cancer and gave me strength to fight . The staff are amazing helping you all the way without being in your face . The activities you can take part in are varied giving you an outlet to feel worth again . A massive thumbs up from me
Lovely friendly staff as a visitor I'm very pleased with the way they are looking after my mum
Lovely calm place . The staff really make u feel welcome and valued really pleased with the care they are providing for my mother xx
It's lovely place staff are lovely always there 2 help u always get offered drink make u so welcome nothing is never 2 much trouble 4 them xx
An amazing place with such dedicated and skilled staff who not only cared for my mum. But all of us.
Amazing staff, clean, homely place. I couldn't think of a better place for my nana to be. They go above and beyond for every person. I would highly recommend. Thank you for your amazing work you do
Amazing staff very caring and supportive to my dad who died here, very supportive to how family at all times & continue to do so.
Amazing place during my husband's illness and death , special people work there I love them all. I have donated 13inches of hair to the little princess trust and my page is split between Hayward house hospice and Macmillan cancer trust I have raised so far £1010.00 to give back to them x thank you !
After visiting the day centre 4 times this week as Santa . What a lovely place it is . The staff are second to non and the party's put on are fantastic.
