We are very excited to watch tonight's special episode of The Yorkshire Vet, and we are delighted that Herriot Hospice Homecare will feature in the programme.
Yorkshire Vet Country:The Herriot Story will air on Channel 5 at 8pm, exploring the legacy of reknowned North Yorkshire vet, James Herriot.
As part of the episode, James Herriot's daughter, Rosie Page, remembers a hard-working father who was absolutely devoted to the North Yorkshire farming community, and speaks of he...r role as Patron of Herriot Hospice Homecare, the charity which bears her father's name.
Also in the programme, Herriot Hospice Homecare supporter and volunteer Sandra Jones shares her story, describing what the care her husband David received meant to the couple. Sandra explains how the services offered by Herriot Hospice Homecare enabled David to stay at home and be with his beloved dogs; Sandra was able to cook meals for him and move her bed next to his in the dining room so they could cuddle up and watch a film.
We hope you enjoy the episode, and please share this post to help us spread the word.

My late Mam and Dad,Hilda Swales who died on the 31 05 2007 and my Dad George Leonard Swales who died on the 29 09 2007 of Swainby where allowed to die in dignity in there own home with there family around them.

Once my Mam was diagnosed as terminally ill with a time of 6 weeks, all she wanted to do was be at home with her loved ones.

The only way that could happen was with the help of Herriot Hospice.

My Mam lasted 4 weeks and when my Dad was diagnosed as terminal he lasted 10 days.

I stayed with my parents during that time so I really got to know and understand what a marvellous organisation Herriot Hospice is and there staff are simply the best.

I can't find words to say how indebted we are to them.
