Your chance to hear some great live music and support a very worthy cause. National Parkinson’s Awareness Day is April 11th and although this concert is free on the 12th April we will be hoping for donations for Parkinson’s. 100% of your donation will go to this charity close to all at Hinckley ACT. Would be lovely if you came or just spread the word please. Thank You 😊🎶 https://www.facebook.com/events/185246019 045282/?ti=ia

Due to circumstances beyond our control we are sorry to advise Jacque McShee regrets that she will be unable to be at ACT this evening. Kevin Dempsey a master guitar performer has kindly said he will take over the evening and I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Last night, March’s Club Night, lived up to expectations - good music and song - the mix of instrumental and vocal performance gave excellent balance to the evening. Eleven acts, each doing a set of 3 numbers made it a full programme as the photos below show. The evening was ably compered by Club Member David Collins.
Thanks as always to our volunteers who make things run smoothly: Carol and Luna (golden retriever, currently recovering from an operation), on reception Tony ...on Bar Our excellent sound man Steve, and last but definitely not least ‘The Boss’ Pam Our thanks as always to our marketing team Dawn (photographer and banjo player in the pics😃) and Mr G (wordsmith😊) for summing up the evening perfectly

For our February Concert ‘Secret Magpies’ - aka Chris Chambers and Autumn Dawn Leader were our entertainment for the evening. Autumn on keyboard, guitar and vocals and Chris on acoustic guitar, lap steel guitar and vocals - a varied set with mainly self penned tunes and songs.
The support act - Melanie Pegge, guitarist and singer, played on classical guitar and sang - some of the tunes having a distinct flamenco feeling. A very entertaining evening at ACT.
Many thanks as al...ways to our dedicated team of volunteers, who, on the evening were:
Jeanette and Dave Knappett on reception - ‘welcome back from your travels to the Antipodes!’ Barbara on the Bar Steve our Sound man extraordinaire - and of course The Boss - Pam Photos and review this time courtesy of Mrs D aka Dawn, supported as always by Mr G.

2018 proved to be a great year at The Hinckley Act with both exciting Concerts and Club Nights.
2019 with it’s first Concert carried on this well established custom, with ‪Steve Tilston‬ and double bass player Hugh Bradley. Despite almost recovered from a bad throat and cough Steve’s voice was in fine form, with the aid of some magic potion he hid in a thermos flask - the formula being a tightly kept secret but it must have been good! Steve played and sang brilliantly coveri...ng songs and tunes from the 70’s to today, all of which were introduced with great humour. Many of these were self penned drawing on his extensive concert travels and experiences, others, his take on well known songs of ‪Elvis Presley‬ and ‪Tommy Steele‬ et-al. His excellent guitar playing was accompanied by the skilful playing of Hugh on double bass.
Rocket Science duo were the support act - Nigel (with top hat) and Chris - both well established players of acoustic and bass guitars and vocals.
A most enjoyable Concert Night - the audience leaving wanting more.
So - if you like good music, look at The Hinckley Act on the Web, Facebook etc. - you will not be disappointed to attend either a Concert or Club Night when some excellent local musicians perform - and you could - if you play an instrument or sing. If you don’t, just come along, listen and enjoy!
Thanks as always to our dedicated team of helpers, including Steve on sound, and of course 'The Boss' - Pam.
Our thanks also to Dawn and Gordon for the excellent photos and write up of the night

The Christmas Party Season got off to a flying start at ACT last night with mulled wine, mince pies and great live music from The Jigantics - ably supported by Guy Rogers.
The stage setting was reminiscent of a good music shop’s Christmas window display. There were 16 instruments (17 if you include Mark’s harmonica), consisting of acoustic and electric guitars, drum set, banjo, mandolin and a collection of ukuleles, and an Ibo (look it up!) all of which were played to perfec...tion. The Jigantics' line up was different from their previous appearance at ACT. New members were Keith Thompson and the exuberant persona and voice of Sarah Kelly. Sarah’s voice came to the fore in the song “Reunion Hill” - a tune she heard many years ago but which has never left her. Each member of the Jigantics showed their skill on their chosen instruments - Mark on electric guitar, mandolin, accordion and harmonica, Keith on acoustic guitar and bass, Martin on drums and bass guitar and last but by no means least Sarah on her unique collection of ukuleles.
Guy Rogers played a most enjoyable mix of guitar and banjo tunes, many self penned.
All in all a most enjoyable, entertaining evening.
Looking forward to 2019 at The Hinckley ACT - do come and join us for a concert or club night.
Thanks as always to our merry band of Santa’s Helpers and of course The Boss - Pam - with her beautiful Christmas earrings, and not forgetting Dawn and Mr G for the wonderful photos and write up of the night.

Whoever wrote the adage “It can only get better” had obviously not been to a concert at the Hinckley ACT. You can always rely on hearing and seeing first class musicians/performers. This standard was more than maintained last night by the brilliant Remi Harris Trio. Remi’s virtuoso performances on guitar had the audience mesmerised, including some regular ACT highly skilled guitar players. Remi’s dexterity extended to five guitars from electric, acoustic to 12 string and ...for good measure a ukulele. Remi was more than ably supported by Caley Groves, rhythm guitar, and Simon Smith on double bass. Their eclectic mix of music ranged from Django Reinhardt to Jimi Hendrix and tunes included ‘Sweet Georgia Brown,’ ‘Pennies from Heaven,’ ‘Nature Boy,’ to more modern compositions.
An all round great evening, as expected at the Hinckley ACT. Support for the evening was Mick Mangan.
Thanks as always to our volunteers: Barbara and Ian on Reception, Barbara and Brian on Bar, Steve - our man on Sound and of course ‘The Boss’ - Pam - who makes it all happen.
And Dawn and Mr G for the photos and superb write up of the night

Hinckley ACT is, by far, one of the absolute BEST music venues in Leicestershire and the whole of the East Midlands. I love this place - it deserves more than 5 stars, really.
