Please be careful with your belongings....at around 5.30pm two scruffy lads and a girl tried to make off with four bbq trays which we have outside the shop, with the bbq coals, and compost ,plants etc....right from outside the shop....cant believe the nerve of some theiving little gits. We dont think they were local, they headed off down Booths Wood with a box of beer ( not from us or we would have had a lovely full facial snap off our cameras.)...jesus christ this is Holbrook, whats the bloody world coming to?😠😠😠

Must mention a big 'well' done to the Spotted for their first ever Holbrook well dressing in the village, and a thank you for including the shop on it. So "Well Done" everyone involved it looked like a lot of work went into it👏👏👏 i wouldnt know where to start, art isnt my forte although i have just treated myself to a de stress colouring book and some Sharpies, but i stress myself out more because once i start i have to finish before i put it down.....not sure i have the mind set.... 3 damn hours last sunday afternoon "colouring"....my backside was numb, and theres a lot to go numb

Thank you for all your good wishes on our newest arrival, he did his first shift in the shop yesterday, and had his first family get together last night, its lovely and we are blessed to have all our grandchildren so close by, some dont have that and i honestly dont think i could breathe without them all. Back to business, its Father's Day...so Happy Fathers Day to all you dads, stepdads, granddads and 'like a dads' out there, have a lovely day. I often wish my dad could have seen the shop etc, he was really old school coal miner and thought a woman shouldnt work (a view we often disagreed on as Maggie Thatcher was P.M. back then), wifey was the home maker and the husband should provide.....i think he would have thought shop work was just about passable🤔🤣🤣

The Fun Run....12th July....no i'm not running it....(there are no tenna ladies big enough in the entire world, my pelvic got left in the hospital after my fourth child and is now in lost property) but we are supporting it, so get your trainers on...and do what runners...xx

Now today Norris has had to go into Derby to our helium supplier on Raynesway for yep you guessed it helium. We get a huge cannister at a time, we do a hell of a lot of balloons....but today we have been told that the price of helium has gone up (world helium shortage) and we will only be allowed three cannisters a year. This i am afraid to say will impact on us, so from today we will have to add 50p more for a small balloon, and £1.00 for a large one. I am dissapointed by... this but i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Further to this problem i am going to have to refuse balloon inflation unless balloons have been purchased from us. Really sorry about this, but i have the worlds (slight exaggeration) biggest stock of balloons....and a limited supply of helium....🤔🤔🤔....unless i can get Norris to fill them with his own brand of gas!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣

Ok another one of those money making days.......😁😁 Fathers Day is soon to be upon us....yes its this Sunday, the 16th. We do have a few bits and pieces and cards for Pappa if you feel like treating him, if all else fails a card and a scratchie or bottle of beer/wine....great last minute gifts....and he'll never know you forgot we'll keep it secret...🤣🤣🤣🤣

Huge warning for our customers....our youngest daughter is due to give birth to our 5th grandchild any time soon... so be prepared for endless baby talk and photos, possibly shop confusion, and my brain not working as it should as i go into proud Grandma mode. Hopefully shop upheaveful will be minimal, but you never know with babies, they arrive when you least expect them....but to say we are super excited to meet our new family member is an understatement.....so bare with us, there could be some disruption to normal services...😁

A great big THANK YOU to the "community gardening gang" for coming and straightening out our back garden this a.m. Very much appreciated.....hopefully it wont be long till we can open it officially for anyone who wants to come and have a breather and enjoy the view. Xx
