Home Farm Heritage Description

Home Farm is an organic farm on the edge of the Charnwood Forest. It is the sister farm to Manor Organic Farm in Long Whatton, Leicestershire.

Home to pedigree Longhorn cattle, two breeds of sheep, Lleyns and Poll Dorsets and a small collection of rare breed livestock.

New for 2017 are the introduction of woolly craft courses. Join us in our cosy work shop to learn the art of wet felting, knitting, crochet, needle felting and spinning.

Meat, eggs and organic accredited knitting yarn spun from fleece taken from our Poll Dorset sheep is all available to purchase from Manor Organic Farmshop.

Warm weather, time to get those fleeces off!

A little something to enjoy with your morning coffee. These two have arrived in the Shetland paddock. How cute are they?!

Cows out in the field today, steaming in the rain. Empty sheds and full fields is a sign of Spring!

Today we carried out the first swarm collection of the year at a site in Loughborough. These girls are now safely in a mini hive getting settled in.
Swarms are typically fairly calm, if you find one you can get in touch with us to ask about collection.

A pen full of cute, how's your Sunday looking?

A beautiful bright day today so the bees have been out and about. Early flowering plants like this lomicera are essential for bees as a source of pollen and nectar when there is not much else around. Can you spot the bee?

User

Busy bees have been making the most of the mild weather, taking the opportunity to stretch their wings.
