After searching for somewhere to eat for a while last night we ended up here I was sceptical as we have had bad experiences, all our food was great, cooked how we asked and great value for money the new manager Aaron seems to be getting things back into order

We've been going to Oadby owl for a few years now but sorry to say last night we were disapppinted. The kids burgers had sauce on which wasn't described on the menu so we had to send it back and the adults burgers were burnt and dry. Also we were told there were no carrots! Not one member of staff asked us if our meal was ok. Not too good all round really 🙁

We have used this place for years on and off ....because the food/ service has been on and off...

We meet with great friends and look forward to a meal out with them as its very occasional ...but last nights food / service wasn't great at all...hubbys fish was raw in places ..sent back returned ok...friends steak was quite raw and she likes medium well done ....went back not even fresh plate given ...steak still not passable ...my food wasn't really hot enough ...such a shame as we have had fantastic food here last visit :-/ ....it put us all off really .

Staff were lovely. Food was decent. It needs a personality boost which wouldn't take much, just a bit dark & gloomy. Brighten it up. Put some hanging baskets around & have some decent music. Appeal to families and others.

I went to day with 4 kids and 3 adults. We were there at 12:00 and they had no sausages. So we had to change all off the kids meals. The gamon stake my mum had all black oil on it so must have been old. My garlic bread came out black. And then we get to the pudding they had ran out off cookies to put on the kids sundaes so they got half a wafer boat each. And my daughter was left waiting only to be told they had no doughnuts left. She get get an ice cream but if we knew in the 1st place she would have chosen something eles and not been so disappointed.

The toilets were not very clean. But at least kids meals were cheap I guess.

Ment to be a treat for summer holidays but it was very disappointing.

Had Sunday lunch , you need more staff went at 3-30 there was no clean tables only 1 near the door as the door was open it was drafty so no one wanted to sit there .. order the meal there was 4 of us a bit of a wait but we were told that ,, 2 of us had Sunday lunch not very hot and had better , had to wait for them to bring us knives and forks, and one person in our party order a side of chips twice he asked for them and we never got them so ask for money back on way out ,, would I come again don't think so .

We've been here a few times and normally pretty good.. Went for dinner tonight and first off there wasn't many people in there for dinner. Sausage and mash had blatantly been microwaved, mash was all lumpy and rubbery sausages. chicken mayo burger came with no mayo on but luckily after I'd been to the bar to tell them they brought us some sachets over :s which was nice! Although it would have been great to actually have the mayo on it in the first place. Also got told that they don't do a small Coke so I had to order a large which obviously cost me more.. Will give it another chance no doubt so we will see if it's any better next time!

We went last evening, six of us,and it was pretty empty. Two of the kitchen staff were sick , so this poor girl was in there all on her own, she even came out and spoke to us to explain, felt sorry for her.. Needless to say, the meals took forever, and my jacket potato, didn't arrive till everyone else had finished! And the baked beans never materialised at all. It was awful, but we felt so sorry for the staff, we just asked for free desserts instead of refunds. This is down to poor management, not the staff there trying to hold things together. Get your act together, as this great pub is going down the pan. Another lady found a soiled nappy on the seat next to her. Disgusting. We will not return.....

Not as good as it used to be. Not many in but still waited an age to order food. Once ordered though the food was served to us quickly. My son ordered macaroni cheese...too much salt. My lasagne was lovely, side salad was limp. Daughter enjoyed her burger & chips

What has happened to this place. It used to be packed out every Friday lunch with nice food. We visited today for the first time in 6months and what a disgrace. Only a hand full of people in on a Friday lunch,2 staff members and it still took 40mins for our freezing cold food to come out. I then had to wait 5mins to find a member of staff to ask to make us some fresh hot food. Once we had the food back it had been grilled again to a crisp and my burger was burnt black. What a shame this place has gone to the dogs, such a waste of what used to be a full buzzing pub full of happy friendly staff and customers. Disgraceful! You couldn't pay me to visit again

What a shame. So much potential but they just don’t deliver. Poor waiter service. Cutlery not provided after requesting twice. Ordered a selection of sides due to a lack of gluten free vegetarian options. Salad chips and coleslaw. Chips had gluten on, coleslaw had sold out (Sainsbury’s just over the road). Orders being taken for Christmas.... why would you invite friends and family to this shambles.

The second time i have been and the service was awful. When the food came some of it was wrong with things missing and people on my table had the wrong dinner. Second bad visit i have had in a row wont be rushing back any time soon.

The 1 star is for the price.

Tables weren't cleared. Those that were cleared, were dirty and smelled stale. Food order was inaccurate and incomplete because they'd run out of things, but staff never explained and hoped you wouldn't notice. Milk for tea was served in a bowl and they'd run out of ice for drinks.

Pretty poor.

Sorry but they were understaffed, I was 15 mins at the bar waiting to get served, False advertising and then blamed a taxi company for it (Sat two courses for £8 and when asked about this deal we got told it finished over a Month ago and as the sign was the property of a taxi company in there restaurant advertising there meal deals). We use Hungry Horse all the time but this one was so disappointing and let the name down in so many areas. Can I ask where the hell did you get your sausages from for the big plate mixed grill as they looked like they was cooked and then reheated, disgusting and uneatable.

If you're an asian you can not get served you will have to stand at the bar for about 15 minutes and then when white English person come to the bar all the staff come out to serve them and when we say I was here first the staff will o did not you �������

Had to return the burger meal twice; once it was missing items and cold and the second time it was burned to a crisp. Took 20 minutes to be served as understaffed. Heard multiple people given refunds because the food was so poor or they were out of meals.



The food has gone down hill dramatically over the past few months. Won't be coming back!

Food was absolutely vile, me and the hubby went for breakfast today, I asked for one to be well done and no eggs and the other no sausage, tomatoes or mushrooms, both plates came both the same with out the sausage, tomato and mushrooms, eggs on the one with was cooked crispy burnt underneath but the yolk was raw full of see through slime in on top, bacon was raw it was still honking and to top it off the cutlery was brought out in a filthy metal bucket that had all dry sauce and food all stuck around the inside. Cutlery was also dirty and not washed properly. Never ever will I visit this place again absolutely disgusting

Do not use this place for food. We ordered 3 chicken skewer meals and all 3 turned up raw. We were also told they have had issues with them but yet carried on serving them! The place should not serve food! Head office didn't even respond to the complaint. Can only hope environmental health cost soon before the hurt someone.

Disgusting food only thing hot on my plate was my chips garlic bread is like garlic burnt toast! Even my curry sauce was that cold it started to form a skin. 20 pound for nothing dirty sticky table no one bothered to clean will never come back!
