Superb, excellent. Visited today at 12.30 for lunch, busy but got a table. The whole place was friendly and welcoming. The staff should be praised as got very busy. The young gentleman that served our table was excellent and nothing was to much trouble, we asked for more gravy and he brought it straight away and was very polite. The food was hot, tasty and arrived quickly, mains and deserts were too. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Had amazing morning for pirate and princess breakfast party.... kids enjoyed the treasure hunt, activities and loved dressing up �� breakfast was so yummy as always �� we will definitely be back for the next event �

Had a meal here was very impressed with it. It looked and tasted great. Great value for money too. Will definately be returning �

Came here on the 3rd of December for our works Christmas party,and what a great choice we made. Not one person had a fault with their meals which was great,and the food was fantastic. The staff were all friendly and had a good laugh with us,especially Claire who joined in with some of our silly antics. We had a fantastic night and will definitely be returning again.

Best pub in Mansfield by far ! Best pint of Carling in the UK !!! 🍺👍😃

Been in tonight for my tea had the jumbo cod n chips n mushy peas and the food was amazing didn't have to wait long n fantastic service well done team i will be back soon ;)

Beautiful meal with my family today staff went out of their way to make it special for us, lovely quality food and great atmosphere. Management are amazing, so friendly and nothing is to much trouble. Highly recommended xx

Went with my sister and son sat as a bit of a treat

We did have to wait 45 min for food and it cane out cold

Spoken to the lady manager and she was great

We sorted the issue out and new very hot meals where made and brought

Staff where great

Will be bk again knowning if there is a problem i know it wikl be sorted as it shud be

I have to say I cannot complain about the food or the service. There were 9 of us eating last night and the food was both hot and fresh. Nothing burnt or cold. And extremely tasty. Were we just lucky? Been twice before and not been disappointed with the food or service. Excellent staff manners are you!!!

Went for 1st time on tues 2nd . Had 2x 9oz rump steak , asked for fries inplace of chips but still got served chips. Meals soon went cold (serving meals on warm / hot plates would have helped). Meal just about o.k. What i did not get though was , my wife had a dessert treacle sponge pud she asked if it was possible to have extra custard , and was told that it came with pre measured amount of custard and any extra had to be paid for ! I mean seriously extra for custard you cannot be serious .Scrooge is alive and well at the hungry horse ��

We were taken to this establishment by our friends that we were visiting.

My husband has the serlion steak and ty e 3 of us had rump.

Service was really good and didn't have to wait long for our meals.

The serlion steak was good but the 3 rump steaks were so tough we couldn't cut through them.

2 steaks were cooked to perfection, just a shame we couldn't cut through them. The other was undercooked. We asked the waiter if he could ask the manager to come over. Fair enough she did.

She didn't hesitate to refund us for 3 meals.

I've been going in Boldy for years n I've never been made to rush my dinner very rude I think we'll have to find somewhere else to to go me thinks ��

Was looking forward to a meal here since it had been done up went in on Saturday to what used to be a family friendly pub . Got told very rudely to use the other side door which was fine but it was the way she said it . Later on while waiting for our meal it was very busy and under staffed in my eyes I needed something to keep my baby quiet so went to ask for paper and colours which I used to get from here all the time , I asked a young man so he went to ask behind the bar the same women who spoke to me earlier shouted at him right in front of me and said " we aren't aloud to give them out " she then walked off .. He just gave them me anyway and smiled . I was confused by this .. The food was actually good . But the staff let it down for me not a very good impression wish I'd of actually took her name ! To say it's only just opened again to !

I come to the Bold Forester pretty often & today I’ve left very disappointed for the very first time! There was 4 of us, I thought I’d treat my family to a meal out as I work all over Christmas & new year due to also being in the pub trade and today’s the first day I’ve had off to spend with my family. I had the Big plate Gammon, it didn’t look particularly presentable when it came out, but that didn’t bother me, I then went to cut my meat & as I went to eat it I saw black bits on the bottom, that didn’t bother me much either due to I know it can happen when cooked due to the other meats etc cooked before hand on the same grill, some of the black bits came off. I then turned the rest of my gammon around and all underneath on every single one it was burnt, so the chef clearly saw it & placed it the other way around thinking I wouldn’t see it. If I had not had a starter I’d have gone away hungry. I also had no check back I had to shout up and get someone to come over to the table. I understand you were busy but a check back is priority, stops complaints from happening. I then got offered some fresh gammon which I turned down due to not wanting to wait even longer as the rest of my family had finished there meals. I then got offered a coffee, which was to replace my £8 meal. Very disappointed.

Came today for lunch, order was wrong, I didn't think much of it when I placed my order seems as I hadn't been before so didn't know the prices. When the food came out after 35 minutes, I realized it was wrong, but it had been ordered wrong so there was nothing they could do. The steak was so well done I was contemplating having a funeral for it

Attempted to have a 70th birthday meal for my mother in law but was told we could not book a table - even though we were a large party of 9 (including children) and advised to show up - which we did. Big mistake. Absolutely no room and no tables so were turned away. We did manage to get a table at another restaurant and ate there instead but we won't be going back to Bold Forester. Absolutely no compassion or helpfulness from any of the staff and quite frankly its ridiculous that you can't book a table for a large party. I would advise anyone with a party larger than 4 to find somewhere else if it's before 5pm as you can't book and likely won't get a table (doesn't help that half of it is now sectioned off for adults only). Very poor. �

We went to bold Forrester ( 25/03/18) was disappointed with our food some things were missing off our plates I ordered chicken and waffles with streaky bacon and dips and an onion and pepper side thing only got waffles and chicken fingers waffles where cold chicken ok didn't get anything else on it when I asked about missing things was told they had run out. My partner ordered trio of chicken which he got with a few chips no coleslaw or corn on can or dips really disappointed why send food out if you haven't got all the things to serve, £20 wasted oh and to top it off the sauce bottles were empty which they placed on the table .
