Very good place to go especially the food. Can not thank employee Nick Stocks enough during our visit also.

We came for a meal on Saturday evening and the meal was lovely as it always is. The staff was very friendly and polite .

Me and my other half had lunch here, food was really nice and great value for money..also the drinks were a good price. I do like the refurb, however i don't think i would bring my two young children with me as quite small area with nothing for them to do. It looked busier than i had seen it at a lunchtime before the refurb, but i do think the play area will be missed!

Friendly staff and fast service, no problems for us with the food it was delicious and very filling, will visit again very soon.

Very hit and miss with the food, I’ve had some great meals at the hungry horse, I have also had to send my food back on more than one occasion it’s either under cooked or cold. The staff are very friendly just not enough of them.

This being only my second visit since the refurbishment now that we can't take the kids to the play area � I'm still not too impressed. There was only one girl serving behind the bar, the empty tables hadn't been cleared of dirty plates and glasses. Our table was very tacky so we needed to ask for it to be sprayed and wiped. Eventually the food arrived but unfortunately not as hot as it should be. Not sure you've got it quite right as yet!!

I've been coming to this place for years and it's always been a nice family pub to bring the kids so they can play. The kids had a choice of inside play area, outside or even on the games machines which they loved. None of these are there now and the tables seem very close together which ment I could barely get through with my pram. I understand the logic for more tables for more business but they are eventually going to loose family's as my son was extremely board last night. Another thing was the over 18s bit has always been there but it was 1/4 of the pub it's now 1/2 the pub. Again I understand about wanting to accommodate everyone but going from a lovely family pub to what it is now might loose the family's. Other than that I like the new decor but the Xmas dinner was a huge let down.

Fitted us in at short notice, very busy as it was father day! Staff very friendly and service was quick, we ordered 2 normal roast dinner and one large roast plate much too much Yorkshire my son said. Quality of food was ok just needs to be hotter I felt, plus they need a lesson on roast potatoes not the best should be crispy I think they were the frozen type. Dessert was a apple crumble it was delicious and lots of custard and quite warm.

Enjoyed the food and service was good. However we specifically chose this pub because the facebook page still states has indoor and outdoor childrens play area, which are no longer there. My 5year old nephew was very dissappointed. Menus covered in food - had to clean before reading and go wash my hands as got some cold mash (i think/hope) on my hands. Wouldnt call it very child friendly - nothing for them to do. Would go again for a meal, but not with the family.

Really dissapointed with breakfast with santa first we get there and no table evan tho booked in advance then santa no were to be seen no xmas decorations up atall music wasent christmassy i got told there was reindeer food making for the kids but was none santa finally showed in middle of us eating breakfast gave present that wasent evan wrapped my daughter was shy but when he had gone she wanted to see sabta to say bye and have a photo and he was gone again we got tokd we coukd come between 10&12 but waitet sed was expecting everyone at 10 and breakfast wasent great eather so over all really dissapiunted and gutted for my kids too!!!!!

Not great, cheese burgers came out with no cheese, cheese and bacon burger came out with half a slice of cheese and slim slice of fat and when I complained I was told if I wanted more bacon I would need to pay for it, I kind of thought I already paid for it as I did actually pay for a ‘bacon’ and cheeseburger! Waitress was lovely but chef was clearly and arrogant ****! Won’t go back, shame as this is a regular meeting place for myself and family!

Not brilliant, long wait for food but not made aware of this at the time of ordering. Bar seriously understaffed for a busy Sunday - considering how many people you cater for you need at least twice as many bar staff to stop the 20 minute wait just to get a drink😡. When food came it wasn’t very appetising and the burger meal had an “empty” chip bucket on the plate as they forgot to fill it with the chips😳. We were not given any cutlery or condiments and after 5 mins or so of waiting with our food going cold we had to go and find our own, which wasn’t particularly clean either. All in all the food was average at best, kitchen staff were inadequate and the service at the food tills and bar was very slow. We wont be rushing to come back in a hurry.

Food was ok however had to wait much too long for it. Had to ask several times for desserts and still took 30 minutes to come out. My daughter was providing her own commentary each time the staff came out the kitchen but not with our food so at least a 9 year old can be angry hungry and funny at the same time. Will not be returning!

Where do I start... the food is terrible the couple of times I’ve actually ate there (god knows why) my plates turned up with random scraps of other food from other meals on my plate. The gravy was water with lumps in it so I ate my food dry. Christmas party was a waste of time, one meal came later than everyone else’s and when asked to move the tables to sit closer as the whole party were back to back, the staff turned their noses up... maybe they’d actually have to work and lift a finger when we left. On top of that countless amounts of times, myself and my partner have gone to the bar to order drinks and there’s a hefty que even at off peak hours due staff stood behind the bar too busy talking to each other than serve paying customers! And to sum it all up, New Year’s Eve was a disaster within 5 mins of walking in, drunks fell into myself and my partner spilling drinks and all sorts over us, and when we left, staff seemed to find it funny instead of kicking drunks out. Professional. In future I’ll stick to the priory for some pub grub. This pub has gone massively downhill over the years and customer service needs improving pronto. Will NOT be returning.

Went there on Sunday ordered 2 roasts dinners .came quickly but had to return both as cold the lad didn't seem bothered brought another 2 out luke warm ate some of it .bar staff friendly but that was about it no apologies given to us about the food won't be going back anytime soon pity it lookedlike really nice place

Watied 40 mins for food then they only served half the table after 10 minutes we asked about the other 2 meals and they were bought out cold the pub refunded one by just placing the money on the table the manager said he would be in contact yesterday but not heard a thing

Really disappointed in this place last night! 15 of us went for a birthday and 13 out the 15 meals where cold/served with raw chicken and one even had a hair in it! Meals backwards and forwards and still wrong to the point half of us didn't even eat due to the mess up! And to top it off 2 out of our party today are I'll due to the food they did eat last night! Absolute mess!

Far too busy. Huge queues for the bar and to order food and it was so noisy. They brought our starters out with our mains and when I said I didn’t want them together they said ‘Well they were ordered together’... I wonder why they didn’t bring the deserts out as well then in that case!

Charged me double for my drink because I asked them to fill my sprite to the top of the glass. Awful service, never came across this in any pub ever before. £6.90 for a single vodka and sprite. Disgusting.
