End of very busy day one at the Bristol Hi Fi Show. Plenty of excellent comments on how good our systems sound. Our new 15" horn speakers have attracted a lot of attention! Hope to see more of you over the next two days.

Sound & Vision - The Bristol Show, now celebrating its 30th anniversary, is the UK's largest and longest running domestic consumer Hi-Fi and home audio Show. It is held in Bristol every February and offers visitors the chance to see under one roof some of the best of British and International Hi-Fi.

Since the move to valve amplification i have never looked back. Bought an Icon Audio MC34-A first and wow! Detail,warmth. Since then i now (still have that little beauty) have an st 60mk3m and this REALLY belts the sonic fruits out with the grace only bottles(tubes) can do. Bye bye solid state forever. Icon are only down the road and also have very long production runs. So if back up is needed i.e advise/upgrade etc its no drama to take your kit there and get it sorted.

LOVE ICON! Best customer service, incredible product. I have the Stereo 20PP. Now, I was not a fan of the stock tubes, but roll in your choice of the myriad NOS 12AX7, 12AU7, and EL84, and prepare to be SHOCKED at the sound this little thing makes. This is serious, serious high fidelity sound reproduction, not even considering the price. When you take into account the value factor, it is a complete no brainer.



Oh, and on top of that is the headphone output. Its not a power house, but used with the right headphone, (high sensitivity and low impedance) it runs with the big dogs of head fidelity. I am currently running a pair of Audeze LCD-X. And I actually ran for some time the Hifiman HE-560 off of the Icon's speaker taps using a very easy to make yourself resistor network. Using that strategy, you can use this amp in a dedicated headphone system, and can power any headphone on the market.

Just bought my first ever valve amp, an ST 25 mark ii. WOW!! everything I listen to is spectacular. I do mean everything from Hip Hop and Prog Rock to test match special. Really well matched with my Quad speakers. Looks amazing and simple to use. No fuss just a warm glow!!

Icon Audio Stereo 20PP is now making some sweet music with 1970 Mordaunt Short MS 400.



Fantastic little amp that gets to the heart of the music.



I replaced the stock ECC82/3 with Genalex Gold Lion drivers - huge improvement!



Then replaced the EL84s with some matched NOS Reflektor 6P14P - even more improvement.



No signs of strain or stress on anything I have put through these speakers and Grado SR80e headphones.



Match this amp with the right speakers and you will be entranced.

I recently purchased a stereo 60 mk3 signature edition second hand from Europe, I had some concerns over one of the valves that was put in the unit. I contacted Icon for advise and my email was answered by David Shaw himself, we exchanged emails for a few days and I was given great advice and was given the feeling that nothing was too much trouble. It is gratifying to see companies stand by their products and give true customer service. Rather than trying to save money on a unit from Hong Kong or the far east it is worth every penny to spend a bit extra and know the manufacturer is there to support, what for me, is a major purchase.

The difference in detail and musicality is amazing,

I have an Icon Stereo 60 MK lll. Originally supplied with KT 120 valves. Upgraded to KT 150's when they were first available. The amplifier has never put a foot wrong. Decided to check bias this morning after 2 years. Spot on. What more could you want?

A proud owner of a Stereo40 MkIII for two years, I recently made a technical enquiry to Icon Audio, and was amazed to receive a prompt and polite response from David Shaw, Managing Director and Designer. In an industry sometimes notorious for ignoring customers, it is reassuring to deal with a company adhering to such excellent customer service values.
