Myself and my husband enjoyed a lovely meal here tonight. We explained to the manager that we were booked to see a show at 8pm he explained the menu and made some suggestions. We were not waiting long for the food which was presented lovely and was delicious. The overall experience was really good staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful the food was very tasty - definitely recommend a visit

Took my son for a treat. Was lovely, although I ordered trout as I'd never tried trout, and received salmon? I have salmon almost daily so definatially know a salmon when I taste it. Was going to a show so no time to complain and wait for right order. so just ate it as it was very nice anyway.

Nice lunch with cousins. One cousin has some membership/offer, so we had complimentary glasses of wine plus 'amuse bouche'. We chose from the prix fixe menu - at least six options for starters and mains. The Tuscan pate was nice, but nothing special; however the hot-smoked salmon tagliatelle was delicious with a lemon flavoured sauce. We finished with coffees and thought £16/per head, including tip, was good value. The building is a lovely old property and the green paintwork is soothing and stylish. The waitress who served us was very smiley and patient, as we kept chatting instead of focusing on making our menu choices! This was the second time we'd all met up at Jamie's and we plan to do so again in June.

I wasn’t very happy as there we’re 2 massive signs outside saying ‘kids eat free’ so I went inside ordered drinks then asked the waiter if it mattered which menu I ordered from for the kids meal to be free at which point the waiter said ‘ oh that was last week ‘ then remove the signs and stop false advertising!

We had a lovely experience at Jamie’s Italian in York last year whilst on holiday.

As we were in Nottingham last night we thought we would try out his restaurant hoping for the same experience. Unfortunately this was not the case. Upon sitting down at our table our food menu was taken but we were not asked if we would like a drink. We had to ask for the waiter to take our order.

Our starter was pleasant enough. For my main course I ordered Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli which was served luke warm. When this was pointed out the waiter said he would bring a fresh one which he did but this meant my husband eating his meal on his own and by the time my second meal was bought he had finished so I ate mine on my own!!!!! Not really what we were expecting or wanted. However I could not fault my dish it was hot and very tasty.

The restaurant was probably only less than a quarter full so there should have been no reason to serve luke warm food. There was also no ambience to the restaurant.

Such a shame after our previous experience. It’s unlikely we would want to visit any further Jamie’s Italian

The service was fantastic, very quick, welcoming and friendly. The cocktails (Florence Fizz) were great, and the starters were delicious (Tomato Bruschetta & Silky Tuscan Pate Bruschetta). But the main course was flavourless, and the pasta (Pappardelle) didn’t seem as though it was cooked enough. It’s a shame because the restaurant is lovely, and the value for money is also very good but the mains just didn’t cut it this time. I would visit again purely for the service, a cocktail and possibly nibbles, but I wouldn’t waste my money and go for a meal out. Thanks J.O

On arrival we were shown to our table straight away the waitress then came to take the order we ordered a bread board nachos and polenta chips to which only 2 dishes arrived together I think the chips were forgotten about they arrived at the table about ten minutes later.

I must say the food was very tasty but the portions small for what we were charged and the bottled beer was £4.50

The service was very good but we felt we didn’t get value for money so won’t be going again. This was an anniversary meal for myself and husband and we took our 3 daughters. Sorry

Booked a table for 5pm for 7 of us on a Saturday night. On arrival we were told that our table wasn’t ready yet so asked to order a drink in the bar. Barman was helpful and the cocktail was very nice. When we were shown to our table it was completely empty so we were unsure why we had to wait to be seated. The waiter took our order (ordered starters for 5 of us and mains for all plus a sweet potato fries side) however when starters arrived one was missing (garlic flatbread) and we had to find someone to ask for it. Overall, the starters were very nice and I would definitely recommend the arichini. We then waited approx. 45 minutes for our mains which all arrived at completely different times with incorrect sides and no extra side that we had ordered. The meatballs and spaghetti that I ordered was not presented well and the spaghetti did not taste freshly cooked, fries on other dishes were also cold. Extra water we ordered was not brought to the table either. Due to being on a time limit we did not feel we had time to complain however the above was all mentioned to one of the senior staff on the floor who was very apologetic.

Overall starters were delicious, drinks were nice, most staff were friendly and some main courses were ok but the fact that some meals were not cooked well and apparent delay in bringing out all meals at the same time meant our experience at Jamie’s was not as impressive as it has been previously and unfortunately until the above is improved I would not recommend or go back in a rush.

User

An amazing building for a restaurant with a beautiful walled garden outside where we ate. Portions of food were small but delicious.

However, they'd ran out of both squid and courgettes apparently on a Thursday at 6pm. Service wasn't great, drinks were slow to come, waiter inattentive and the bill was incorrect...

User

Went on a Thursday early evening when it was not busy at all, and the service was so slow. There were plenty of waitresses on but everything took ridiculously long. We had the small set menu, so expected it to be nice and quick as the dishes were very simple (tomato bruchetta and pesto pasta). After we had finally had our drinks and starters it took an hour for us to get our mains.

We were hoping to watch the England football game but ended up missing the first half. We weren’t apologised to at all!

Everyone seemed to be in the same situation, waiting forever for very basic, average dishes.

Shame as the garden is beautiful!

User

We bought a deal off travelzoo for a 2 course meal for 2 people at £29. When we got there a 2 course meal was £11.95 x 2 = £23.90.

Mmmm not such a good deal as we thought.

When we pointed this out they offered a sweet as compo.

We Sat waiting at least 25 mins for the sweet and it was never worth the extra £5.10

Come on Jamie, if your offering deals make sure they work out better than the normal price.

Very disappointed.

Oh yes I forgot, I ordered lemon cheesecake and got berry fruit instead

Wow, my girlfriend and I had an appalling dining experience last night.

We had arrived at 7.50 for our table booked for 8.00 pm. On arrival we were told we would be seated by 8.15. No table became available til 8.45.

During our wait, we were corralled into a small area along with dozens of others, all obviously as annoyed as us, with no way to practically get through the crowd to the bar.

On being seated, our order was not taken for ten minutes, then our starter arrived at 9.15. The main turned up at 9.50. Finally we had desert at around 10.20.

No napkins arrived with starter (which as antipasti). No cutlery with main. Waiting staff could not be called over for drinks orders at all.

Although starter and desert were lovely the main was, at best, disapointing.

All through the meal we felt cramped into a small space. No more than 30 centimetres between tables, the constant plaintive moans of dissatisfaction coming from all over the restaurant were really distracting.

Literally every table had a complaint. We even heard several different people saying loudly "I'm starving".

The couple next to us gave up waiting for food at about 45 minutes. When they asked to be billed with what they had had, the waitress handed them a bill for the whole meal. Which was shocking to us.

Twice my girlfriend hadn't entirely finished her food before the waitress whipped the plate away, once whilst I was actually clearly stealing a fry.

To top it off, at the end of this awful experience. I asked the waitress if I could see the manager. I explained politely, that I did not wish to complain about her (she had been lovely, when she had spoken to us). However I instead ended up placating her and apologising because she was clearly about to cry.

She told us there would be managers down stairs by the entrance. There was no one there.

To add insult to injury, my girlfriends Umbrella had been taken from amongst the others left by customers.

This was our Valentines meal. We had planned to go elsewhere after our meal, unfortunately our hour and a half sitting ended up taking 3 hours.

We were massively unimpressed by this horribly mismanaged, experience.

I'm sure Jamie Oliver would be ashamed of this, and can see why the chain is failing. Next time we'll go to Carluccio's.

Where to begin ???

1. The Maitre’d parked us in the bar (without menus?) and forgot about us.

2. The table we were given was at the back & beyond from the main seating area.

3. Wet glasses were left on every table (when we asked why ? We were told they were for water... but why were they left wet ?).

4. Waited 20 minutes without drinks at the table - the restaurant wasn’t exactly packed.

5. My meal chicken brick was served without any accompanying vegetables or anything.... just a chicken breast in sauce ??? When I asked why ? I was told, the waitress should have offered me options when ordering? It was £16 for a chicken breast & no accompanying vegetables ???

6. The waitress had a terrible attitude.

In fairness to the manager (who had only been there 2 weeks) he really tried to redeem the situation and couldn’t have been more apologetic.... but no wonder this restaurant chain is in trouble !

I’ve had better experiences in pub chain restaurants.... complete shambles.

User

We have been to Jamie’s twice before and have enjoyed it but, this experience today was the worst by far.

The staff were friendly but very rushed and clearly couldn’t cope with the volume of people in the restaurant.

They had no lemonade on draft or bottles and being pregnant must watch my caffeine intake ie no coke cola.

The option a £3.00 small glass of soda lemon with mint.

We ordered bread to start and on its arrival moved the knife and folk tin + salt and pepper pots to find food remnants on the table which I had to wipe away with a napkin! This was not cleaned by the staff.

We ordered from the set menu the carbonara and brownie.

It came and my pasta was not cooked on informing the waitress I was basically told that’s how it comes. I asked for it to be cooked as if it’s egg pasta I don’t want to be eating raw egg as I’m pregnant. It came back and looked as if it had been pinged in a microwave and more cheese added. I had a few mouth fulls and left it.

The brownie was the saving grace of the meal and to say this it meant to be an Italian your carbonara wasn’t even supermarket takeaway standard, very very poor.

The pudding is advertised at £3.00 which made the pasta £8.95 which for what we got a complete rip off.

This is shames as we hoped to celebrate our 12 week scan with this meal.

On sitting eating for our food the table next to us didn’t get walnuts on their salad kids meals 10min after the adults meals and puds brought without the table even being cleared.

The table opposite us who sat down at the same time as us where told there order had been lost by the kitchen!

Wasn't impressed by anything For starters no loo rolls in disabled toilet I don't normally drink but the lager was warm and flat Didn't like the darkness and my partner hit a light and a mirror on the wall trying to sit down. I had the burger The brioche bun was burnt and I could find little or no onions My partner had a 4 cheese pizza and it looked a mis-shaped pizza with a pool of cheese on it Nothing to cut through it with and it's hard on a normal plate with a normal knife. We aren't the type to complain or embarrass the company we are with Felt uncomfortable on hard wooden chairs and couldn't wait for it to be over .

User

Very very disappointed.

Took the family, my parents and my mother-in-law all out for mothers day.

Had a table booked for 2:45 for 8 of us. Didn't get sat at least 20 minutes later.

It was approx 1hr before starters made it to the table. Another hour passed. We had to ask for our mains.

My mother-in-law and wife were having cod off the special mothers day menu. They brought trout because they had ran out of cod. Nobody had bothered to come tell us or ask what they would prefer to do.

My chicken was cold. My mother's linguine was actually spaghetti, and my son's side of skinny fries was not brought out. By the time they arrived he's practically finished his pizza.

No one came to check how our meal was. No one had said there was or why there had been, a delay and no apologies had been given.

We refused to wait for dessert.

It was only after asking for the bill and expressing our disappointment that the waitress apologised, whom I can not blame for the beyond poor management.

It was not our first visit; but suspect it might be our last. I have always had great food in the past but yesterday you managed to ruin mothers day for our family. Taking a bottle of wine and 20% off the bill did not amend my feelings.

User

Very disappointing. My wife took our 8 year old daughter here for lunch as a treat as part of their girly shopping trip. After being seated they were then wholly ignored while tables around them, who'd all arrived after them, were served. They weren't even offered a drink. After half an hour of being ignored they left and had to go elsewhere for lunch. Disappointing as our daughter had really been looking forward to it. Not a good advert for family dining.

User

Very disappointing, portions way too small and very expensive we had to wait much too long for our food. The hot chocolate was just a glass of hot milk. Felt ripped off and will not be returning and are not able to recommend it.

User

Please avoid this place, I have eaten better in a motorway service station.

This is the first time I have eaten crispy squid where the squid inside with that overcooked it was crispy, polenta chips were swimming in Oil. The worst was the superfood salad where the broccoli was that off it made the whole salad smell sour. The children’s dinner came with dirty carrots, we had to send the scallops back for being too salty twice!!

We did complain, but the service was so sloppy it’s practically unbelievable that Jamie has his name on the door!!!
