Can you have desserts without ruining your diet? At JD Gyms, we think we have the solution! Here’s our recipe for protein pumpkin pie!
• 2 Large Eggs • 1 ½ cup Non-fat Plain Greek Yogurt • 15oz Pumpkin... • 6 scoops Whey Protein Powder • 2 tbsp. Pumpkin Pie Spice • Sweetener (optional) • Maple Syrup and Whipped Topping (optional) . 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees 2. Spray a pie dish with non-stick spray 3. Add all ingredients of a bowl and mix well 4. Place an oven safe dish full of water on rack below where pie will go (this prevents cracking on the top of the pie) 5. Pour mixture into dish and bake for 45-50 minutes or until just set 6. Mixture will seem soft at first. Place in refrigerator to set for 4-6 hours or preferably, overnight. 7. Top with a drizzle of fresh maple syrup or whipped cream (we prefer without). It’s important to eat healthily with the right mix of protein, fats and low glycaemic carbs. But what if you’re a vegetarian and you cannot consume meat? Here at JD Gyms we’ve got an idea for you; a high protein Mediterranean three-bean salad!
Ingredients:... • ½ pound (225g) green beans, trimmed and snapped into 2-inch pieces • 15-ounce (425g) can of chickpeas (or garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed • 15-ounce (425g) can of red kidney beans, drained and rinsed • 1 cucumber, sliced (about 3/4 cup chopped, 110g) • 1 cup (about 12g to 15g) loosely packed parsley leaves, chopped • 1/4 cup (35g) feta cheese • 1/3 cup (55g) olives, sliced in half • 3/4 cup (100g) diced tomatoes
Combine these ingredients in a bowl (which will take you about 5 minutes) for a high protein vegetarian meal. You can add vinaigrette to taste if you want to. This serves four, so you can pre-prepare these for post workout lunches!

Life can sometimes be hectic, and finding time to prepare meals can be difficult. So here’s a quick and easy meal prep idea; tacos meal bowls!
Combine equal amounts of cooked ground beef, black beans, sweetcorn, brown rice, tomatoes and coriander for a delicious and nutritious meal. Add a taco shell if you want extra carbs, but we think it's fine as it is.
If you don’t like one of the ingredients, you can always substitute it for something similar. ... It’ll take you about 5 minutes to prepare, and you can always make these meals in advance. Healthy food that’s easy to prepare – there’s no excuses!

Battle ropes are often thought of as a tool for your upper body, or as an alternative to regular cardio machines. �Amazing gym it’s just bloody awesome it’s the kind of gym everyone would love to train in to get there gains� & the staff are extremely helpful �which is always good I definitely recommend this gym to my fam & friends & I definitely can’t wait to the official opening on Wednesday it’s a shame there’s no boxing ring � tho lol but I still say it’s a 5� star quality gym & definitely worth the small price of £19.99 per a month c ya wed

Well what can I say, a gym where everyone is there exercising as hard as they can, great floor staff who speak to members, and busy classes even during times of the year where most gyms usually die down!



Pound for pound (apart from the car park at peak times and smoother floored area for skipping) I'm genuinely impressed!



Can't really comment about the wet areas as I don't use them but for the money I still think JD is definitely worth EVERY penny especially after leaving a gym that was three times the amount with a questionable service.

Never stepped into a gym in my life so it's all new to me. Went to JD for the first time Friday night and went back Saturday and Sunday! Feel very comfortable going on my own. Can't wait to start the classes tomorrow. Great gym. Very clean. Friendly staff. Only downside, no pub near by but that's not your fault.� Shame The Mitre has closed down..����

I've been to alot of the gyms in Derby and this one is definitely the best. I love the Burn area and i did a fantastic class called JD BURN. Its a no faff gym which i like. Just turn up and train.. �

Best gym i have been to and the first I have felt comftable going to on my own. Loads of space and equipment, great classes and the staff are all really friendly and helpful.

Best gym I've joined so far. Loads of equipment and a great variation some for general fitness and some more specialist stuff. It's not very busy during the day which is good. The classes are great especially jd burn. There are different areas with lots of different themes. A cross fit frame, a small area catered to ladies away from the free weights section, an abs area, boxing, trx, studio and a spin room with loads of bikes and you can never normally get in a spin class because there aren't enough bikes!



The sauna is in the women's changing rooms so you don't have to go in with men which can be very intimidating. I agree with an earlier comment re needing more water fountains. Although you can just take a bottle so it's not really a huge problem.



My biggest criticism is the fact that lazy people don't put their weights back which is really frustrating when you're trying to find the equipment you need. When I've wanted to use the hex bar someone had left a ridiculous amount of weight on it and I really struggled to take it off to use the equipment. People are friendly though and 3 different people helped me with that when they've seen me struggling. You can't really blame the club for that but they should pull people up on it otherwise the culture will stick and they shouldn't be wasting their own time putting weights back it's a pain in the bum!!



Other than that a great club with a bright airy interior. Have really enjoyed my workouts this week! So a big thumbs up for me!! I would definitely recommend this club to anyone.

Total agree with Nadine, great gym good price. But the car park wasn't even given a second thought, when the building was converted. Along with havin 2x classes at peak time, on Mondays and Wednesdays! Your lucky if you can even move in the car park. I'll be happy to change my rating if and when this majour issue is sorted.

The gym is ok. It is multipurpose and some of the staff members are really nice. HOWEVER can you please clean the gym daily. The showers, toilets, changing area and the water fountain areas have not been cleaned at all. Days will pass and these areas are dirty. I get to the gym at 6am so I know and have seen dirty surfaces that have not been cleaned for days.



If you need us to pay £5 more to have the gym regularly cleaned then I am sure many members would agree to this but there are no excuses for a dirty gym. Please sort it because this is making me very uncomfortable. Thank you.

Not to bad for this price , but wi - fi not working good enought . So many days wont connect me to the wi - fi . When I do ask the personel there , they say , we have no access to wi - fi as well. I am not ineresting they have access to wi - fi or not. I just ask them to sort it out this problem. Email them 3 times , not ineresting to send to me any answer . So for £ 20 a month is not to bad but customer service still have a lot a job to do it . And if u can do a bit better the cleaning job , will be fantastic .

It’s a great gym has everything you need and more - when you can park that is!!!!! The car park has no lighting. Peak times is a no go. Iv had to leave and miss several sessions due to the car park being too full. People driving around and getting stuck due to others abandoning their cars. This is very frustrating given I pay for this but can’t use the gym due to no where to park. One very, very annoyed customer!!!!!!!

I really like it. Everything looks great but the biggest problem is cleanliness !!! The studio floor has not been cleaned for ages !! It is not normal if you have to remind the staff to clean up. Week after week you can still find the same rubbish on the floor. It's disgusting when everything sticks to your hands (dust, hairs etc).

Been a few times to different classes and it’s a brilliant gym with great facilities. My only issue is that the wifi wont stretch to the treadmill area but I can connect just fine in the carpark???? Might seem trivial but i really need videos as distraction in the treadmill or i’ll just get off. Would be perfect if the wifi was a bit better!

Good Gym but woeful customer service, pin still not working after a week. turned up saturday night and stood at the turnstile half hour before someone came and i missed my gym session as it shut half hour later, emailed customer services 2 days ago and still no reply.

You've been open six months and after complaining that your treadmills keep stopping nearly causing me to go over on my ancle to your staff, not only does he NOT put up a sign he informs me that they all do and cannot point me to a safe one which works. He also told me if he signed the broken ones there wouldn't be any to use! This is basic. Get it together. You're putting your clients safety at risk.
