Last night we finally opened the doors to the Bayside Kitchen Courtyard, and we had the pleasure of Linda Robson from Birds of a feather and loose women pop in to eat with us. What a great night and if you have not popped in day or night time then please do be great to see you.

We frequently visit Filey and The Bay. Usually stop for a drink or a bite to eat, great tasty meals and drinks. Nice staff. Chico our dog loves it too. He's totally relaxed!

I go here every week for lunch with my bestie, The staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is great, quick service, the chef is very good. I highly recommend the John Paul Jones ❤️

User

Good pub meals. I had the burger which waz very tasty and fresh. My friend and partner had the fish and chips. Staff were very pleasant.Wanted to return the next day but couldn't do as arrange trip to scarbourgh.Such a shame as I would like to eat there again. My be get there sunday for lunch.

User

We went for breakfast after vacating the cottage, had the standard breakfast with a coffee and it was fine. They do a larger breakfast, basically two of everything, but that would have too much for me. Good value and tasty.

User

Friendly staff highly recommend the Moussaka and the Ribs. Great we could take our dog in with us as when on holiday would never leave him alone while out having our dinner. Be prepared to have to wait for a table as no booking system.

Called yesterday during really bad weather for lunch.Nice cosy and dog friendly .Had a lovely meal the only thing that spoiled it was the bar maid on duty with brown hair in a pony tail DID NOT WASH HER HANDS when coming out of the toilet, she saw me watch her but clearly wasn't bothered. She then proceeded to take plates of good to tables ,not acceptable.

User

We first went here on opening but on my hubbys birthday we thought we would go to the coast & call for tea . The food used to be lovely but sadly we found the 2 men that used to run it had left & sadly so had the quality of the food. I live in Wakefield so won't be planning on a return visit any time soon.

User

We came for Sunday lunch well the veg was cold the roast potatoes were like rocks the only nice thing was the beef ,

Also we had to eat fast as the place had loads of flies around

User

The food was good as pub meals go. We had the burgers which were very tasty and fresh. Staff were very pleasant but the whole thing was ruined by the amount of flies we had to constantly battle with which spoilt the whole meal. It made the pub seem very unhygienic! Wanted to return the next night but couldn't do with the thought of having to spend the evening swatting flies! Such a shame as I would like to eat there again.

I have been to this Pub many times over the past year and even though I hate trip advisor I have felt obliged to submit to them the following review as not only are regulations being broken but also drivers are being discriminated against. The pricing policy is clearly meant to avoid the purchase of a half. A sad day as I have always enjoyed my visits and meals in this pub.

"I called in alone for a quiet drink and ordered a half pint of cask ale.

I was charged £2.45 despite it being a standard session ale and a pint being £3.70.

I questioned this and the barmaid gave me a receipt proving she was right.

I asked to see the Manager who was not available.

I asked to see the price list displayed for customers as required to which she accepted there was not one!

She was pleasant, polite and the beer tasted as it should"

Within a day or 2 of this visit the Duty Manager did take the time to ring and thanked me for pointing the till had been programmed incorrectly. The correct price should have been £2.15 (still unjustifiable) and he claimed there was a price list. A step in the right direction so review edited.

User

Very disappointing. I had bangers and mash and fly. The bangers under cooked and the mash had a layer of skin on it. Clearly been sat under hot lamp for a while. When I asked for gravy it came cold. Will not be returning. I guess the pub will not reply to this post.

User

Thinking back to our meal yesterday, really we should have said something at the time, but overpriced low quality food. Our meals were the standard burgers and curry’s you find at any pub like this, but the children’s fish fingers were disgusting . Our son basically couldn’t eat them. Would not recommend. A lot better meal and better value elsewhere. Also untidy, food all over the floor and tried 3 times for a clean glass!!

User

The bay used to be beautiful. But the developers have stuck too many blue huts on the site and ruined it for us. We went in the pub which uses to be nice ..it was disappointing...very expensive drinks dirty and untidy with uncontrollable kids screaming at full blast. Would not go back.

User

We have been going here since 2008 pretty much from the early days. When it first opened it was spot on but unfortunately over the last few years it is slowly declining in standards .which is strange as the Bay where the pub is situated within is constantly expanding. We went here on 3rd June 2017 and had a meal ,one piece of advice don't sit in the corner to the right of the bar as the amount of flys is beyond a joke.what I find even harder to believe is the amount of reviews that mention this as an issue going back a few months and yet nothing seems to have been done to address this issue.to sum up very disappointed as This could be a great pub if someone put the customers first and not profit

User

Usually the food here is fantastic, we generally eat here at least once a month all year round. Yesterday wasn't a very good eating experience which is a real shame as the location is good and the bar staff are fantastic.

We ordered the sharing platter as a starter normally this is fantastic, our kids love it.

It looked like somebody couldn't be arsed !! Overcooked and tasted of mucky chip fat !!

3 mushrooms with the breadcrumbs clinging on for dear life, 4 of the tinyest onion rings you've ever seen which were dripping in fat, tasted like old chip fat and looked like someone had forgotten they were in the fryer !! The chicken goujons used to be in a gorgeous home made batter, we received 4 southern fried ones that looked like they'd been bought from the local Iceland !!

Garlic bread was burnt and not edible. You could snap it in two !! Nachos soft and tasteless with the smallest sprinkling of cheese had been over microwaved.

No garnish or coleslaw to be seen, normally has the most beautiful homemade coleslaw on the board. Absolutely zero effort had been put into this starter whatsoever !!

Kids ordered sticky toffee pudding which I told them to be careful when eating it as it would be hot, wrong !! It didn't even melt the ice cream accompanying it !!

Such a shame as it's normally such a nice meal here !!

User

Lovely looking pub with what seemed like a great menu... Then we ordered! I ordered the burger, the middle of it was raw, even the waitress was shocked when she finally came to check if everything was ok. Husband ordered steak pie, looked like dog food, meat was just gristle & the pastry has never seen 'puff' in its life, veg was cold & chips greasy!!! Lovely combination.

My daughter had the chicken bites, she loved them but I spent half my time checking they were cooked after the state of the burger.

When the waitress arrived to ask if everything was ok, we told her pleasantly that it wasn't good, she was nice enough but offered no apology just said 'oh you should have said!' Erm when? The bar was busy the waitresses were busy. Such a shame as its in such a great location, I'd much rather pay more & get decent homemade food not just microwaved rubbish. Needless to say we left starving. I will certainly be recommending the bay to friends & family but will be sure to mention the poor quality of the onsite pub.

An apology would of been nice... Refund would of been better!

User

Dreadful experience. Staff miserable and gruff congregated at the end of the bar muttering.

Food that we had was mostly shocking. £5.95 for loaded nachos " delicious hot nachos served with melted cheese, salsa, sour cream, guacamole & jalepenos". What arrived was a bowl full to the brim with sub standard nachos, grated cheese from a packet less than melted and literally covered with jalapenos from a jar which we had to remove to even locate a hot nachos with melted cheese, and even that was unsuccessful. Shocking!

£3.25 for 10 anaemic chips that had not even been given a glimpse of hot oil.

Just because you seem to have the monopoly on site, stop ripping off customers by serving sub standard food at ridiculous prices.

Learn how to smile even if you've had a busy shift.
