JOB OPPORTUNITY - FULL TIME BUTCHER
We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Butcher to join our team at our farm shop within Laing's Farm & Coffee Shop
We are looking for someone with excellent craft skills and high standards to work closely with our shop managers and the team in delivering exceptional quality meat and delicatessen products, building and inspiring our farm shop on delivering a shopping experience for customers second to none.
... The successful applicant will have the drive and enthusiasm to takethe shop to the highest levels, understanding the ins and outs of a busy environment, and have a keen interest in creating new and innovative products and also supplying our well established Coffee Shop with their daily requirements.
Key attributes required: *Background as a skilled butcher *Interested in the craft butchery products with an interest and understanding of fine foods and current trends. *Managerial experience - including product ordering, sales, margins and shop performance.
Good administrative and IT skills including social media (Not necessary)
Hours of work: 45 – 52hours per week on a 6-day week Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm Saturday 8.30 – 4pm
Salary dependent on experience.

Did you know? 🐷🐮 Here at Laing's Butchery we use the best cuts and quality of meat. We buy all of our meat from Maurice Wharton at Black Brow Abattoir, located at Wigton, Cumbria. Maurice sources all his meat from the local auction marts. We buy all of our chicken from Frank Bird of Penrith, Cumbria. Meaning that any meat bought from us is reared by a trusted local farmer.

The butchers had a fantastic selection with some me great deals �

We often go. Especially while I’ve been off work on adoption leave. Our little girl loves it and we can’t wait to try the new play area. Always find the food and service wonderful. The play area will definitely be the icing on the cake!! ��

Visited for lunch for the first time yesterday and it definitley won't be our last the food was amazing and not expensive at all, staff were lovely,the place was very relaxed bright and airy, the farm shop was very well stocked and again was reasonably priced, looking forward to our next visit would highly recommend

The new play area is fantastic! Definitely worth a visit! Kids loved it!

Thankyou to you all. Had a lovely birthday lunch and my cake is amazing. No complaints here. Food fresh and good quality and service fast . Will be back soon :) xx

Popped in for a snack today 11/10/15 and was exceptionally pleased with what was on offer. Reasonable priced food and luvly souroundings and all the staff very friendly nothing too much trouble.

Would recommend going on Tripadviser.

In finishing would highly recommend travellers to visit ample parking area. Just of the motorway on the A7 heading to Langholm.

Our first visit to this lovely little place, we both had coffee and scones ... I chose a Treacle scone which was delicious .... the choice on the menu was excellent as was the customer service ... we will visit again.

Ordered a takeaway tea for 2 as a gift for my parents anniversary, wow, what a selection, lovely fresh, homemade food, calories a plenty and all ready to collect as promised. Friendly staff served me and made sure everything was perfect.

It's sad to see the reviews about the service, me and my nearly two year old came this morning, we had an early morning and he wanted to play, its perfect for mum's to have a cuppa outside and watch their little ones play, the only downside is the entrance which doesn't have a gate, I think I'd feel happier if there was a gate just to be extra safe, even though I always watch what my little boy is doing. There is a little play house under the canopy with toys in too for the littler ones, and a table woth volouring books and pencils, this is where the outside seating area is. The inside is really nice too with a little shop which is an added bonus. The thing that I was really impressed with was the childrens stand, with hats, sunglasses, bibs, cups, wipes and sun cream, what a brilliant idea and free too. As it was early and reasonably quiet the service was pretty good, I had to order at the bar and pay as I was sitting outside, which could be difficult if you want to grab a coffee and don't want to take your eye of the children, they can be difficult to drag away as the play area is so fab, although I'm sure the staff would accommodate this, if you had cash and weren't paying by card. I am sure this will be a big hit in the school holidays, I hope they can resolve the staffing issues that seem to be a problem to others as this is unique for children in my opinion around this area.

If you haven't been to this butcher yet get yourself along there and sample their meats. We had two Ribeye steaks from there last night and they were so tender. Their burgers are very low in fat and the Highland chicken breast are very tasty. This new venture deserves to succeed. The gentleman who runs the butchery department is so helpful and always explains to me what has gone into the sausages and other produce. The coffee shop is delightful and the staff are friendly and efficient. The food is delicious and good size portions, definitely good value for money. Don't just take my word for it, get yourselves along there and have a look.

Food is very nice and freshly made , cakes are delicious and portion size is very generous! Relaxing comfortable atmosphere to enjoy a bite to eat and staff very friendly! :-)

First visit on my way back to Chirnside Berwickshire, fabulous food, fabulous staff, amazing shop, butchers wares looked brilliant(must buy some next time), attached craft gallery definately worth a visit. Can't wait for next visit, it will become our regular watering place on the way to and from Cumbria/Cheshire/Wales.

Fantastic Afternoon Tea takeaway today, superb value for money and absolutely delicious, what a treat. Possibly too much for one but still managed to eat it all! Thank you

Went today for lunch, spent along time waiting to order as were told someone would come and take our order at the table, people sat outside go to the till to order and were getting food before us who arrived a while after us. Food was ok, not amazing for price. Nothing seemed very organised.

Went to play outside, put my son in the 'baby' swing, strapped him in and gentle pushed him once and the seat tipped and he fell out forwards, very unsafe considering it is for small children!

Very doubtful I would be back.
