Hello everyone. After over 12 years, it is time for us to close up shop.
Our lease expired several months ago and I have decided not to renew it - many years of rising costs and a tough trading climate mean that it is time for us to bow out, I’m afraid. Our last day open will be Sunday 27th May - just over a week from now.
Sorry that this is such short notice for everybody. Our deadline for signing a new lease or moving out was the end of May, and for several months I was t...rying to resolve things to everybody’s satisfaction, but it was not to be. But since the decision has gone down to the wire it means that there is not much time now to tell people about our closing date.
You will all still be able to buy our tea online from the Lee Rosy’s webshop, at www.lee-rosy.co.uk - that is not going anywhere. Our monthly subscription club will continue too (apologies to our subscribers that the current month is running late - I have been preoccupied with working out these questions, so it will go out on Monday). And if you are a local cafe or restaurant who would like to stock our tea, get in touch as we can still do that too.
Please spread the word to anyone who might miss us. And come and drop in on us before next Sunday - we have had a good run and we'll go out with our heads held high.
Thanks everyone for all your support over the years. You will survive.
All the best,
Andrew

ZINE MAKING in our basement this morning @ 11! bring your kids, bring yourselves for a brew, a cut and stick and a browse through the Notts Zine Library x

This is some of the best tea in the UK. My only regret is that I don't live in Notts anymore to walk there for a sandwich, but they do ship their tea, so I'm happy!

User

The meze was my go to dish and a little vegan cake when I was feeling great

User

One of my favourite places in Nottingham for a good cup of tea! It's always busy but the food is lovely, atmosphere is great and staff are friendly...Really good value too!

User

Lovely staff, gorgeous Tea , great atmosphere. Cant wait to come again. Fig and Cherry tea was delicious. x

Loved going to Lee Rosey's for a hot choc and cake. Pre rehearsals and shows we used to get sandwiches, crisps and most importantly for singers water etc. We will miss you very much. Not everyone provided what you provided. I am pleased that Lee Rosey's are still selling their amazing tea combinations. Which go down a treat as part of friends Christmas hampers etc.

Understand why this decision has been made. Your tea shop and friendly staff will be missed. XXX

Lea Rosie's tea shop is a brilliant emporium of all things tea coffe and cakes. But that is not all the people running it like carris are really really lovely people and can't do enough for you as a customer. They also do have art exhibitions on and the church of sound experimental music nights once a month. Price are pretty nice too.

User

I love this place! The selection of tea/coffee is great and homemade cakes are just Yum! The atmosphere makes it easy to relax when meeting friends/doing uni work (they have free WiFi) or spending time with your kid :) :)

User

Friendliest staff. Great telaxing atmosphere. Wish my kitchen looked like there place. Umm tea n cakes included of course. Tee hee. Definitely makes Nottingham richer for being there.

User

First time to Rosy's and it didn't disappoint. Great location, great atmosphere, great coffee and yummy cake.

User

Caters for all dietary needs, lovely staff, cosy and a great vibe 💖

User

Best tea joint in town; staff are friendly, great variety of tea and tasty home bakes

User

Beautiful teas. If you were lucky enough to go to the tea shop, you’ll know what I mean! However we are still able to buy their teas. I can recommend caramel

User

Amazing place! I went from Brazil to Nottingham and it was fabulous to know the store. I stayed there working and appreciating teas. The workers are kind and the teas are fabulous. I look forward to come back soon.

Waited ages to try this place as my boyfriend had raved about it . Staff were disinterested in us and left us stood around feeling very awkward, weren't busy at all only a couple of people apart from us. Decided to take our order with us and the girl serving proceeded in stuffing the cake into a plastic container half the size of the cake (it was being taken away as a gift for someone else) and was squashed and spoiled . And we we're ignored when requesting which piece we would like . I understand this place is supposed to be somewhat of a legendary place for tea and cake but we absolutely won't be back , there are far better places within a stones throw with nice professional staff , able to let your cake be taken away in ether a bag or a box that it fits in at a fraction of the price . Very disappointing all round

Visited Lee Rosy's for the first time today. It's a lovely looking venue on Broad Street in Nottingham, first impressions were good. We ordered an Americano coffee, a pot of tea and a couple of orders of cheese on toast.

Tea and coffee arrived reasonably quickly and it was of an OK standard. Twenty five minutes in we hadn't received the cheese on toast. My wife got to the counter to ask for a refund as we had to go. We were told it was on and the chap behind the counter then uttered the immortal words 'it takes as long as it takes'. Unsurprisingly my wife did look back and said 'but it's cheese on toast???'. The place wasn't even busy so there was no back log of orders.

It's a shame because it is quirky and clearly a favourite haunt for students. It would have been a 3 but another point was deducted for the state of the loo. Won't be back again as places like 200 degrees and Delilahs are just superior in every way. Sometimes you have to try new outlets. Sorry on this occasion that we did.

Absolutely chaos yesterday 8 of us crammed on two tables no space to go if a fire broke out ... drinks were wrong half cup measures our order came in bits we had to keep asking for missing things ...and being charged for large drinks but we was given small ones it was awful the music is ridiculously loud. Staff need to be more cleaner not washing hands blowing their nose round food then serving place needs cleaning piles of coats behind the food counter not good at all

User

Two visits and both times extremely rude service. horrible attitude from staff. The woman that served us our drinks wasn't very clear which drink was which. Her manner was very rude, then while staring at us, rolled her eyes, tutted and sighed as us behind my friends back as she was clearing cups from the table next to us. Awful service. and although your drinks and cakes are really tasty, we definitely will not be visiting again.

User

Popped in on Friday for a tea and was very disappointed. Mug was badly chipped around the rim and when returned to the counter contents were poured into another one and no apology from the staff. Staff were talking amungst themselves and seemed uninterested.

User

Good tea selection but made quite poorly. Leaves not left in long enough to brew and the teapots/cups and cutlery were stained when dumped on the table. Staff quite innatentive and chatting with their mates. Toilet needs cleaning. Its looks like a nice quirky and friendly place but its all marketing but no real care from the staff.
