About Leicester Art Zone
Leicester Art Zone is a non-profit organisation for artists and art lovers; formed in March 2014 by Artist Ali Agayev.
Leicester Art Zone Description
Leicester Art Zone was first set up by Artist Ali Agayev. It is a non profit organisation, started in March 2014 and since then the numbers of people attending have grown significantly, as well as the projects we participate in.
Our main purpose is to unite artists from the area into a coherent and contemporary voice. We wish to raise the profile both of group members’ work and of those who work within the arts in and around Leicestershire. The artists work in a diverse range of disciplines including painting and drawing. We are aiming to generate new opportunities and larger projects for individual artists, and we encourage collaborative work with other organisations; providing a forum for local, practicing artists to share, discuss and develop their creative ideas. Our goal is to support and work with vulnerable and marginalised people, such as those who suffer from depression, individuals with low income, people with disabilities, elderly people, refugees and asylum seekers and everyone is welcome to join.
At present we are running two projects: "Art Light" project which is funded by Lottery Fund and also project called "United Leicester" which is funded by the Comic Relief.
In the future we hope to grow further, have more ambitious projects to take part in and with more funding we can put on many more events; such as exhibitions for the public, and more trips for our members (to see art work in different cities etc).
