Arrests made following arson appeal

Two men, aged 25 and 21, and both from Leicester, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the incident which happened on Thursday 9 May.

A old tree has Fallen onto the Road about 2.05pm today.
The tree came down across the road on Knighton Road damaging a parked car and falling onto a moving vehicle.
Knighton Road has been closed in both directions.
... East Midlands ambulance service attended to a male casualty on scene.
A telegraph pole was also damaged by the tree.
Police are in attendance and the Fire Service have handed over the incident to the police.
The Council tree surgeons are currently working to clear the road.
No persons trapped and no injuries reported.

Porsche Ablaze
Leicestershire Fire service is attending a vehicle fire on Abbey Lane just before the Red Hill circle.
Long delays for traffic on Abbey Lane,
... The Black Porsche Cayenne is totally burnt out, the fire took place at the traffic lights just before the roundabout.
Watch the video and see the intense fire engulfed the vehicle.
No reported injuries.

Several calls received to reports of car fire near to Red Hill Circle at 5.55pm.
1 x Porsche Caymen fully involved in fire, 2 BA 2HR jets in use,
Police in attendance liaising with owner to arrange recovery of vehicle.
Police have closed off Abbey Lane between Thurcaston Road and red Hill Circle. Traffic light also damaged by fire.

... “Shortly after 10.15pm yesterday (Thursday) we received a report of a sudden death at a property in Augusta Close, Leicester.
“Officers attended and found the body of a man inside. “His death is not believed to be suspicious and police remain at the scene.
“A file is being prepared for the coroner.”

An elusive kitten had to be rescued by the Fire service tonight, when the owner got very concerned for its welfare.
Leicestershire Fire service received a call for help, to a kitten stuck up in a tree.
Tactical Response Vehicle from Loughborough Station attended an address in Shepshed.
... Fire Control received a call from the kitten owner advising us that a small cat was 6m high in a conifer tree.
The kitten had recently undergone surgery and the owner had been liaising with the RSPCA prior to requesting Fire Service assistance.
Crews from Loughborough station tried to reach the cat using a 4.8 m ladder and reach pole, the kitten remained elusive for sometime but was eventually rescued and returned to its owner.
All ended perfectly......

Two car collision on Woodhouse Road In Quorn.
Leicestershire Fire Service are currently dealing with a two car collision which happened around 6.30pm tonight.
One person was trapped and was released from the vehicle by the Fire Service.
... Two casualties were taken to hospital by road ambulance, and the road was closed by Police.

A daylight robbery in Oadby at the Santander Branch on the parade this morning.
Leicestershire Police has now released a statement on this morning’s incident.
The force said: “Cash was stolen from a bank deposit machine during a robbery in The Parade, Oadby, this morning.
... “Officers were called to the premises at 8.42am today following a report that a black 4x4 vehicle had reversed into the building.
“It is understood four men, who were wearing balaclavas and in possession of items believed to have included baseball bats, then made their way into the building.
“A deposit machine was damaged and cash taken before the suspects left. No cash was taken from an ATM in the building.
“Staff members were in the premises at the time. No injuries have been reported.”
Police are appealing for any witnesses or Dash cam footage

A woman in her 70s has died after a collision on Humberstone Gate last Friday night, Police are appealing for witnesses.
The collision involved a bus and a woman, She was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for treatment but died yesterday.

Leicester City Football Club Mural By Richard Wilson painted on the rear of a electrical retailer, the new owner of the shop is fighting to save the Mural.
Mr Mohammad Vindhani who has only rented the front of the shop on King Richards Road, says we really want the Leicester mural to stay and we are fighting with the people to keep this iconic artwork.
We spoken to a couple who was taking pictures of the mural, they said surely it’s possible to Digitally copy the image and r...eproduce it on boarding and place it around the King Power stadium.
