Lincoln Castle Description
The Lincoln Castle opening times are:
April to September
10am – 5pm (grounds close 5. 30pm)
October to March
10am – 4pm (grounds close 4. 30pm)
We don't have a last entry time but recommend that you allow at least 30 minutes to enjoy each attraction.
We are open every day of the year except Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

History
In 1068, two years after the Battle of Hastings, William the Conqueror began building Lincoln Castle on a site occupied since Roman times. For 900 years the Castle has been used as a court and prison.
It also houses Lincoln's Magna Carta, dating from 1215 and the Charter of the Forest. Many original features still remain and the wall walks provide visitors with some magnificent views of the cathedral, the city of Lincoln and the surrounding countryside.
Heritage Skills Centre
