About Lincolnshire Poacher

Serving 13 real ales, traditional cider, 60 + Single Malts, home cooked food and a fine selection of continental beers. We are the Lincolnshire Poacher

Lincolnshire Poacher Description

The Lincolnshire Poacher has been part of Nottingham’s real ale drinking scene for so long that it’s easy to forget that it only opened in the late 1980′s, rising from the shell of the Old Grey Nags Head which had been closed by Shipstones.

In partnership with Wainfleet brewers, George Bateman & Sons Ltd, the ‘Poacher’ quickly earned a reputation as one of THE places in Nottingham for quality and choice of ale, a distinction it has never lost.

Alongside its excellent reputation for ale, the Lincolnshire Poacher is also part of a small group of Castle Rock pubs aiming to provide you with a dynamic and enlightening world beer experience, as part of our “Discover World Beers” initiative.

The large public bar is complemented by a large outside high walled beer garden.

The Fab Two are a highly respected and authentic Nottingham based Beatles Tribute Duo. Established now for a few years the dynamic duo have been carving their own niche around the Midlands and beyond. With almost every Beatle song in their repertoire they should be able to deal with any request you ask for.The Fab Two use no backing tracks to sing along to-everything you hear is played live. They capture the important musical aspects of the song to recreate The Beatles sound in a way which hopefully should please most of you someone once said if you dont like the Beatles you're not listening to it right.

What a cracking pub. Plenty of real ale, served up by really friendly and sociable staff. Also does excellent food, none of your usual pub grub, the chips are to die for!

I'd recommend this hostelry to anyone visiting Nottingham.

User

The Black Sheep went down really well...nice pint ! ..not my music but good for the differant real ales..will try the food next time.

User

Not often I give a 5 * review, but this is an amazing pub, a real pub if there is such a thing these days. Friendly staff, amazing beers, a back bar that blew my socks off (a selection of whiskeys I've not seen out side of scotland). If your in nottingham at least have one in here.

User

Nice pub; good beer. Chips were nice too. Beer garden out back is lovely.

User

Lovely traditional pub, although not a fan of real ales I was pleased to see they served San Miguel and Bitberger lagers, very warm pub, lovely staff.

User

Great pub and lovely and cosey great beers

User

Great choice of real ales and whiskies. The entertainment tonight was second to none. The Fab Two were great and were there to take requests for our favourite Beatle songs :- While my guitar gently weeps and Penny Lane. The bar staff were friendly and honest with the change when i gave them a pile of coins in a dull light. It was given back to me when they could have easily kept it.

User

Fab pub, made very welcome by the friendly staff an customers. Real bonus for us was the fact it was dog friendly. Visiting my daughter at uni and being able to bring the dogs to see her was great. Will definitely be returning and highly recommend. Food was great too

User

Excellent pint, nice food, friendly and helpful bar staff and my dog made welcome. Great!

User

Cannot comment on the food as not eaten there, but what I will comment on is a great selection behind the bar of both ale and staff making this a cracking pub....I would certainly recommend it .

User

Brew house of choice at every opportunity. Spent a wee bit of time behind the bar in the 90s and it feels as good as it did then. RIP Tony.

User

Best pub in the world. Have been going there for 25 years and nothing comes close. It's now our kids favourite pub too.

User

Not my favourite music but good artists on...beer was spot on too.

User

It’s more often than not a very pleasant place to be but the staff and choice of beers/cider etc. are what sells it to me. The atmosphere is good but there are places which have a better atmosphere but not such good beer!

User

Great real ale House and dog friendly to boot!

Staff are keen to make you feel welcome and are knowledgeable about the beers and the local community helping you to enjoy your visit

User

Beer choices very good lots of good stuff spirit wise on offer, bar maid was mardy and lack of personality which is only reason it's not a 5*, 4* for pub and 0* for barmaid

User

Lovely old spit and sawdust pub. 😊 Friendly staff, good beers and a outside bit on the back of the pub. They have a small menu of simple dishes and they are served quickly. They also have cosy nooks and crannies.

User

I didn't like it last night. Have been a regular for years but back yard and conservatory far too smokey it's getting worse. Smokers at side and around conservatory door all night polluting atmosphere badly for others. So disappointing that it's getting so bad as I have in past loved this pub. Please do something about it.

User

Sunday lunch, very poor food. One slice of cardboard passed off as Beef and even that was small. Joined by probably the smallest yorkshire pudding in the world. Only saving grace were the vegetables.
