Little Legs Ltd Description

My name is Kirstie Mackintosh, I am the creator and founder of Little Legs Ltd.
I have two gorgeous children Aimee & Daniel, and sadly after having both of them I suffered with post natal depression. There are a number of amazing support groups for PND but for me baby massage and baby yoga helped me to spend true quality time with my babies as well as helping us to feel better physically and mentally. . They still love both now at the age of 4 and 6. Talking to other mums and dads about the challenges that I faced without feeling judged also showed me that I was not alone in how I felt. I am passionate about supporting parents with post natal depression and other challenges they may face so I decided to complete my Diploma in Baby Massage and Baby Yoga. I wanted to create an environment for parents and babies of pure relaxation, which allows special time with baby as well as a chance to talk about parenthood in a non judgemental way through humour, building friendships and honesty.
Unlike most baby massage and yoga courses I wanted Little Legs to be different in the sense that not only do I run my courses in venues, I also come to your home or online through Zoom.
My classes give you a chance to invite your new and old mummy friends along to a venue that suits you or to your home, where you're comfortable and don't feel any pressure if baby does not want to play ball! I also run one to one classes if you would prefer.
I am also an Education Specialist for the NHS at East Midlands Ambulance Service and a Community First Responder (level 2 first aid trained), I offer Paediatric First Aid Awareness training as part of my courses. I hold the both the Touch Learn International Infant Massage and Baby Yoga Teaching qualifications, full insurance (IPTI), a valid First Aid certificate and DBS check.
I can't wait to meet you.
Kirstie

Before babies learn to speak, one of the key ways you can communicate with your child is through touch. Baby massage is one of the earliest – and easiest – things you can do for your baby, and it’s a great way to bond.
Positive, loving touch – like that used in baby massage – has been proven to have a substantial physical, emotional, mental and social benefit to babies who are regularly massaged by their parents/caregivers. Bonding with your baby can take time and doesn't... always happen easily. The bonding experience can be encouraged through touch, through spending quality time together and through eye-to-eye contact with your baby. Baby massage can play a vital role in this process, particularly if you've struggled due to postnatal depression, an early baby or medical problems. It's a great thing for dads to learn too, especially if mum is breastfeeding and he feels left out.
What are the benefits of baby massage?
Promotes parent-child attachment, communicating feelings of love, care and respect. Can ease the symptoms of colds, colic, constipation and teething Stimulates digestion, increases circulation, boosts immunity Prepares your baby’s body for a deeper, more restful sleep Offers multi-sensory stimulation Assists with milk production in breastfeeding mums Massage can help babies who are premature and those with disabilities too, improving muscle tone and stimulating growth hormones
What to expect from a Little Legs Baby Massage course:
All of our classes are baby-led, which means that baby has the choice to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the massage, with no pressure placed on parent or baby Each session will build up slowly to a full head-to-toe massage for baby Expert tuition from a Little Legs qualified Infant Massage teacher Small, friendly class groups of no more than 10 parents and babies A bottle of oil for massages A massage booklet and weekly hand-outs (so you can continue what you learn at home) Online support Paediatric First Aid Awareness Certificate of Attendance for baby at the end of the course Stress-free, relaxed and comfortable venues, where you can unwind with your baby, as well as meet other parents and their babies · The opportunity to have your classes at home, either one-to-one or with a group of friends
Baby Massage courses – price information 5 one-hour sessions held at one of our venues around Nottinghamshire £40 (includes Paediatric First Aid Awareness)
We advise that babies are over 4 weeks old when they start a course; they can join us any time before they begin to actively crawl.

what can I say Kirstie is a wonderful mother who makes every parent and child feel relaxed and at ease, and imparts a sense of peace and mindfulness across the class. I would advise everyone to definitely give this classes a go, especially as parents we all need a little peace and relaxation! thank you Kirstie!

Went to active baby yoga as my LB is at the stage he WON'T sit still and feel that in other groups we aren't getting the enjoyment out of the group as I'm constantly chasing him around the room. This group though was perfect. The child were allowed to roam free around the room, no one blinked an eye at the mischievous little monkey crawling and climbing all over. Felt very relaxed during the class and enjoyed every minute. Kirstie Is very hands on and made me and my little man feel at ease and comfortable in the environment. Can't wait to get back to classes once I've recovered xxx

We have been attending Kirsties baby yoga class since January 2018, Jess and I REALLY enjoy it

It’s fun, and jess is benefiting from it ........ She’s come on leaps and bounds with her development since starting. She’s eating & sleeping so much better and I’m putting it down to baby yoga. We have continued onto active baby yoga which has helped Jess with her posture and allowed her to stand on her own, begin walking and climbing.

Joining this group as a first time mum has helped me become more confident around other people, and Kirstie constantly puts us both at ease.

We are learning all new songs too!

Would definitely recommend little legs activity’s.

My little girl Elsie loves the toddler yoga ÔøΩ she has so much fun ÔøΩ and kirsty is more than just a the class leader, she really cares about the mum's and is passionate about supporting them In anyway she can.

My little boy loves ‘Uncle’ Kirstie . We especially enjoyed today’s session out in the park with a lovely Gruffalo theme . A lovely activity for the children and a great way to meet new mummies

My daughter (aged 7) did a yoga and mindfulness workshop in the holidays. It was great value (with added pizza!). She enjoyed making yoga poses and it was a lovely way for her to meet new people!

User

My Charlie loves his weekly Yoga class! The structure is fun and varied and simple enough for Charlie to remember and enjoy each week. Kirstie is fab too! very patient and calming :)

User

My 7 year old daughter went to the Little Legs Mindfulness and Yoga session in the half term holidays and she loved it. She found it a really positive experience, loved the yoga and Kirsty and team were so friendly they made her feel completely at ease even though she had never met anyone before. I would definitely recommend the session, especially if you want to help your child to switch off from all the chaos around them, the over stimulation that appears everywhere and also help them when they are feeling frustrated. Kirsty has taught us that Yoga for kids works just as well as it does for adults but they find it more fun, and with their inbuilt flexibility, much easier to do :-)

User

Love love love little legs. Kirstie is friendly, professional and knowledgable. She provides such a great service at such a reasonable price and I would definitely recommend her to anybody interested in baby massage (the effects of which are amazing.)

Thanks Kirstie!!

User

Laura and Kirstie are great! I’m so glad I went to little legs as my first ever experience of a baby class because it was awesome from day 1! I went alone and thought I’d never be able to do something like that! I think if I went to a different company I wouldn’t have felt as welcomed as I did with Laura at little legs! I developed confidence with little legs and have now tried so many things that I probably wouldn’t have unless I had the really good first experience! Me and Harry have been with little legs for baby massage, baby yoga and are waiting to start zumbini! Very excited!

Thank you little legs! ÔøΩ

User

Kirstie is so welcoming and class is amazing! My little girl loved the baby massage course and was always amazingly chilled out afterwards, plus Kirstie had great tips for relief of things that we were struggling with like constipation. It was also a real bonus to have the mini baby choking course added in there too.

I would highly recommend Kirstie and Little Legs to everyone x

User

Kirstie is simply wonderful. We've just finished a course at my house (me and two friends with their babies) and I can honestly say I felt so comfortable, my little girl wasn't a fan of laying down and Kirstie was experienced, full of information and just so relaxed, she helped me do the massage on my lap or with my baby sitting up. Not only was it great to learn the techniques to use every day, but we also all got to share experiences and have fun whilst spending precious time enjoying our babies. I would recommend Kirstie's course to everyone.

User

Just finished a 4 week baby massage course at my house with a couple of friends & their babies & can't recommend it enough. I've loved every session! Kirstie is so lovely & always puts a smile on both the babies & the mummies faces! ÔøΩ Didn't want the course to end! Looking forward to trying baby yoga in January!! ÔøΩ ÔøΩ

User

I can't praise Kirstie and Little Legs enough. We did both the baby massage and baby yoga, and my little girl and I both loved it. Friendly, non-judgmental environment, and a beautiful chance to meet other mums whilst bonding with your baby. No matter how frazzled you may feel going in, you always leave with a smile on your face. Absolutely wonderful, and will recommend to everyone.

User

Have attended toddler yoga. Went to open day at tennis centre and my eldest ran around like a lunatic - Kirstie was really supportive and understands that this happens with toddlers. Second session he totally got involved and came away telling me all about it! He is brave - no mummy, I am brave ÔøΩ

User

Currently doing Baby Massage with Kirstie. My 13 week old little girl is really enjoying it and I think it’s helped with her sleep too. Kirstie is really friendly and the sessions are super relaxed so you can walk around, feed etc. Also the venue in whatton is fab with yummy cakes and coffee to keep us tired mummy’s going!!

User

Baby massage classes are awesome. I have learnt so much from only one class and have incorporated the things I've been shown into nappy changing times/ bath times to mix it up. I think my little fella appreciates this bonding time with mumma. Well worth it! And from what I've seen and heard, baby yoga is equally cool. üòòüëç

User

Baby Noah & I have just finished a baby massage course with Kirstie, which we thoroughly enjoyed. As a sufferer of post natal depression for the second time it was wonderful to be able to do the course at a friend's house, where I felt comfortable & not under pressure. Kirstie was fabulous, really knowledgeable but also really friendly & easy to talk too. We're doing a baby yoga course with her in January, & we can't wait! Would definitely recommend Little Legs x

User

Absolutely loved our baby massage course. Kirstie was great, making both me and Ben (baby) feel at ease and checking I was comfortable with everything she was showing me. I have been using the techniques she taught me inbetween sessions, which has really helped our bonding. Thank you! X

User

A great bonding experience for mummy and baby and in a safe environment ... they might not enjoy it the first time but by the 2nd class the babies are loving every minute! Kirstie is fab, chatty and puts everyone at ease even when tears may come but it's not an issue you just try a different way! Great handouts so you can remember everything you've learnt too.
