‪New cardio tennis fitness session starting this Saturday at Magdala Tennis Club in Mapperley Park. Join us for 60 minutes of fun and fitness hitting lots of balls on the move and taking part in social games! New to tennis or a seasoned pro. Everyone welcome! ‬

Fantastic standard of tennis today from this lot and a great boost for our club to be invited to host the TB10 in this region.

We are one of only 32 clubs nationally to host a new grassroots tennis tournament.
The TB10 Challenger Series is a fast-paced, short-form tennis format comprised solely of tie breaks – no games, no sets, just exhilarating ten- point breakers in which every point counts. The tournament will be played on Sunday 9 September at 1pm.
Entrants will be between 14 and 15-years old and the tournaments will culminate in a final to be held on Saturday 3rd November 2018.
... The Challenger Series will feature one tournament at each club, based on LTA ratings of up to 6.2.
The Winner and Runner from each club tournament, will go through to the final and the overall winner will receive a year’s sponsorship from Wilson.

This week we open our doors to residents of Seely Hirst House, a specialist provider of care for adults over 65 and those with dementia, to watch a weekly session of play.
The ‘spectators’ will enjoy our Tuesday morning ladies’ social session. This offers an opportunity for the Seely House residents to sit outdoors, watch tennis and enjoy coffee and socializing with the Magdala players.
The idea is the brainchild of home manager Julie Ward-Daft who, working with Seely Hirst'...s activity coordinator Joyce Greensmith, is keen to find better ways to integrate residents within the local community. The care home is conveniently located opposite Magdala Tennis Club, on Mapperley Road.
Joyce said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for our residents to engage with members of the public and will also stimulate and improve conversation within the home for many weeks to come.” Julie added: “I've been on a mission recently to find ways for residents to connect more with the wider community and Joyce and I have been working closely together with various ideas.”

It's here. The world's greatest tennis tournament. Time to dust off your rackets and get on the court. Fantastic summer offer for trial membership at one of Nottingham's most established clubs. All standards welcome, from complete beginners to big hitters. Adult and junior beginner and improver coaching. Mixed, men and ladies competative tennis all year round including opportunities to play in Div 1 of Notts league.

We're delighted to have been given some exposure on BBC 2's Great British Menu this eve. Chef Pip Lacey is a former member. We're delighted her starter is heading to the Wimbledon banquet.

Just started beginners lessons. The courts are really clean and well maintained. Parking outside is easy. Everyone is super friendly. The player mix is perfect in the beginners group. The focus of the lessons is fun, teamwork and aerobic exercise not just competition. Can't wait until Sunday when I get to go back.

I started playing last year, tried the taster sessions and then joined as a member! No looking back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this club!
